Great hospitality, quiet areas, and very affordable.
The location is a bit far from downtown area.

A great stay where Hope, Robert and Isaac really made us feel at home. Robert and Isaac took us on a lovely walk and even challenged us to a few games of pool.
Hope is a superb cook and went out of his way to drive us into town and help us sort out our bus tickets. They couldn’t have been lovelier.

Truly eco, truly local, truly amazing! This homestay is not a Fancy lodge but trust me it Worth than lodges.
Everything was great during our stay here, so having free cooking classes with amazing Hope and Swahili classes was beyond my wish.
I also highly recommend to book your Safari with them. I had 4 days sharing safari with reasonable price! They own our company "AFRICA MAGIC HOLIDAYS" which will give you the best of the best. Safari was one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks to our wonderful guide Justin, delicious food from Hope & Yaya and the politeness of the Lazaro who he never was tired answer my questions. He also came to pick me airport for only $40 while taxi cabs Charge $70..Lazaro gave me free ride to show me the city for two days .
It’s a massive YES for me :) and I will probably come back again

Hope was an amazing host for our homestay! He even organised that his friend Yaya showed us around and explained us the culture of the local community.
He provided all inclusive food and beverage.
We taught each other food recipes and language skills - like friends!

This place is for everyone, who loves to join locals in the way they live their life in a kind of tropical garden located at the end of a village. Great hospitality.
My expectations of the place after reading the profile was different to the reality. Maybe some misunderstanding. Anyway we had a good time

You'll get a basic small house shared with one really nice guy who's preparing food and caring about everything. He'll definitely make you fell comfortable. There are also two basic private rooms (just a bed and a wardrobe) and a private bathroom for yourself. But you can also use the shared area with sitting area and big table. It's located in a more calm, but enjoyable area (walking to center ~1h or boda-boda).
For me, it was a perfect spot. But don't expect a European / US-American high-standard: There are power cuts and since there is no water storage, you'll also not have tap water at that times. Wi-Fi just via cellular, but relatively stable.

Everything was amazing! We were met with so much kindness and hospitality. Hope cooked the best food for us that our kids loved with fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden.
Our kids played with the kids from the family next door. And everybody were genuinly warm and friendly.

As I wrote in my previous review this is a guest house I would recommend to any traveller who is curious to learn more about everyday life in TZ. The facilities are very basic but clean, but the food is excellent and the place has a nice vibe. The location is a bit outside the city center in a relatively poor area, but it feels very safe. The staff was extremely helpful and made me feel at home. I can really recommend this place - unless you just want to stay in a US/European standard hotel room on your way between Kili and Serengeti.
4.7
I was extremely well taken care of by Hope. He showed me around in the area and also took me to Arusha national park. The breakfast and dinners prepared were also excellent and I never had any issues with my stomach. The place is simple but clean and has a nice vibe.
In short, Arusha Holiday Safari is an excellent place to stay if you really want to get to know Tanzania during your stay. If you want to stay in a hotel that is like any place back home, you can stay in Palace hotel or Sheraton, but if you are curious and want to see a bit of true Tanzania I can fully recommend AHS. I will surely stay here next time around.

We bookt Arusha holiday safari and this start lead us to the best experience. This was our life time experience so was okay to pay more fore better experience for private safari. The owner Lazaro of the tour Operator based in Arushs is a very nice Guy who will go to great length to ensure you are having a good time. We Liked the fact that one can book there directly locally; so the Money stays in the country. We booked a private Safari for a Family of four and chose the three day Tour to Tangarire, Ngorogoro and Lake Manyara, four nights included. We could book already from Germany and pay in advance. With Benson we had a great driver guide who seemed to know every corner in the parks, made us get up early to be there in time for the animals and a bit earlier than the crowds. He was not only very knowledable but great fun to be with. We enjoyed the three days safari a lot. The food prepared by a Cook was great too. WE Had the Option to choose vegetarian. Safari: Most impressed by the elephants in Tangarire, a Cheetah chasing antilopes, lions eating a zebra, young male lions playing and hunting, a black Cobra and a baboon eating a baby dikdik. The two nights inbetween the three safari days we spent in Manyara Tented Lodge with great view and pool. We felt we got great value for our money. Tour Operator Lazaro also spend a dinner with us after the Safari to find out how it was and offered to drive us to our next destination Moshi.
I wi recommend if you book this property make sure you dont miss this safari experience.☺️
Leaviny them .

Hope (the manager/chef/in charge of everything) was very kind, helpful, and made lots of food with 3 meals included in price of accommodation!
He also was willing to drive me to town and back when I wanted to go to the market, or exchange money etc.
And the house is in a quiet village-like area, so it's nice and peaceful!
Finding the place was the only challenge, so I had to tell any tour guide or taxi to call Lazaro or Hope and get directions on how to find the place.
4.7
Area was relaxing and liked the greenery. Was like a home. Host cooked meals was included in the price and good price 👍 This place not for luxury guest it's living in real Africa.

Bed is comfy and location is quiet and relaxing.

Hope, the guy who runs the Guesthouse, is very kind and helpful.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, simple and basic meals, but great for the price.
The bed is comfy, and the house is in a quiet little village like area, very relaxing.

Inside a forest of banana trees, with hens and cows is a house with aesthetic interiour, friendly host, tasty meals, crickets at night. Situated in Ilboru at about 1700m elevation the dust and noise of the city is far away, though reachable on foot. Up the hill an overview of the area is only a long evening walk away. The host will not only anwer your questions but be a worthwile vis-a-vis for interesting talks. We will come back some day!
As usual with low-priced hostels in Tanzania the Free WiFi might not last long.
4.7
The owners are very friendly and very helpfull. They help you with everything. We even got a tour around the village, and Hope took us into town were we had some things to arrange. This is not for luxeryguests but for people who wants to become friends with Tanzania.
We did like everything.
4.7
nice breakfast, local produce, clean room and friendly staff. Very safe. Delicious food. Located in a large family-owned compound, surrounded by trees, chickens (no rooster), cows etc. Fairly close to the center. Map location is accurate. Would stay again.
A bit tricky without a vehicle, but local transport is offered. Food is all included, so no worries about logistics.
4.7
Hope is the perfect host. He is always there, always happy, present, kind and helpfull beyond measures. He makes the most delicious food whenever we need it and helps with everything. Besides that he and his brother Gift are the best company we could wish for. The surroundings are lush and peaceful, its just perfect. The village is beautiful in all ways and everyone very welcoming. The motto of the place "arrive as a guest, but leave as family" is true. We actually dont want to leave at all.
Dont excpect a luxury hotel, its an african homestay, with animals and families just outside. If you like that, its just perfect. The roads are simply terrible though, so expect to be tumbled around in the car to get there.

We just finished the most amazing one week safari with Lazaro and his awesome guide and driver Justin. The experience was spectacular from start to finish. In addition to being Immersed in Africa’s magnificence we were welcomed as friends and hosted with these guys who made the experience really fun. We saw more animals than I ever imagined seeing and we saw them close up and learned so much from Justin and Lazaros interpretations of what was observed.
Although we are not young (early 60s) we opted for a camping safari. It was a great choice as Lazaro and Justin and the chef Lazaro took care of all of the details of camping. The tents and gear was of good quality and the chef Lazaro was amazing at meeting our particular food preferences (we’re vegetarian) and we felt spoiled by the excellent meals. The experience of camping in the Serengeti amidst the park and animals is one we will never forget!
I would so,strongly recommend this experience. What sets Lazaro and Africa Magic Holidays apart is the care Lazaro takes to communicate and assess client preferences to ensure and awesome experience. He is committed to promoting sustainable and ethical tourism and by the time we arrived we felt we arrived as friends rather than as clients. He went way above and beyond picking us up and dropping us off at Kilimanjaro Airport and spending time with us on the day before the safari to show us Arusha. Any anxieties we had about going on a safari we set aside the morning we left Arusha with Lazaro and Justin and headed to Tarangire National Park where we were greeted by a plethora of wildlife. We visited four National, parks including Taarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Each was fascinating and they provided a good diversity of experiences. We also visited a Maasai village en route which was also interesting. On the trip we saw the big five plus other great wildlife like a cheetah and had an amazing 13 plus hour game drive to the north Serengeti.

This is by far the best vacation I have ever had. My sister-in-law and I did the 10 day Tanzania tour with Lazaro and driver/guide Justin. They were both extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. They attended to every detail to make this tour interesting, exciting, and SO much fun! The animal viewing couldn’t have been better. We left with the feeling we are now have family in this beautiful country.

We had an amazing 2-days safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro! Lasaru and his team were great!
He picked us up at Moshi and helped with everything from the accommodation at the hotel to buying souvenirs and airport transfers.
The safari exceeded all our expectations!!! At the very first day at Tarangire we saw a group of lionesses. A night at the camsite was also amazing! The pool under baobab tree and the sky full of stars - that's hard to forget. But what impressed us most of all is Ngorongoro... Such a high density of different species in one place. Elephants, hyppos, flamingos, and many other birds and animals. And a big family of lions both male and female so close to the car!!!
Thanks to the guide who chose the best spots in the park and told us the names and other info.
Thanks again and Highly recommend!

Everything worked as agreed. The place high quality snd the price is very good! The atmosphere was warm and the boys of the place were super friendly. Lazaro is businessman and Hope is a wonderful spirit at home and one of the kindest and most helpful people we have ever met on our trips. For example, he arranged for us a walk to the local village and the nearby scenic slopes, which was a so great! We warmly recommend this place!

Definitely a great stay.
Very nice hosts, accommodation was great and met our expectations. Clean, careful attention to the guests needs.
Host was able to change a dinner to a much later time and breakfast to earlier, based on our schedule. Superb.
Additionally, he walked with us in neighborhood, showed surrounding farm and plantation.
Authentic atmosphere of house in Arusha.
Host was polite, flexible and responsive.
Thank you.

Lazaro and Hope are the best Tanzanians i have met during my all holiday in Tanzania. We booked the property and with ten minutes lazaro contact us through whatsapp. He gave us lot of information we didn’t knew he gave us good offer of airpot transfer and that is where our safari conversation start. He’s house middle of little farm with lot avocados, papay, banana and other fruit was so impressive. They offer us Tanzania wine and was tasty. You can have clear view of mount Meru from the house. Lazaro offer us 4 days private safari. He even go with us to the safari. The safari was much funny with him, National parks are so green during this season. We saw lot animals. Just give lazaro your budget and he will give you best safari package and experience. He will never stop chat with just because you have don business with him. He will continue to chat and greeting you even when your back to ur country. Tho business is what connected us but we became a true friends. I booked this beautiful house after read good reviews .Lazaro he is great and kind person. He’s house from midle of little farm with lot of banana, avocados, and papaya is so beautiful. Foods and fruits are so tasty.I had many offers of safari packages from different companies which they were more cheaper than lazaro offer me, but I didn’t wanted to gambling this experience so I preferred to pay little more and be sure than cheap and endup regret. We did five days safari which was perfect for us. I didn’t new Serengeti is too big to spend two nights and yet you cant rich every angles. Private safari was best choice for us. Lazaro treat us like we’re in honeymoon. There is many safari companies in Arusha but am sure you cant get same experience like Lazaro did. He also organized materuni waterfallz and kikuletwa hotspring. He take us around town and show market and different places. He’s motto come as the guests, leave as the family is real work. We will miss you Lazaro. Mr “good good”

It was good to pick Arusha holiday safari. We felt at home. We loved environment and people around were so kind with us. Enjoy our wine with view of Mount Meru was beyond our expectations. Lazaro came to pick at airpot and organize for us six days private safari. The lodges in safari were perfect. Guide na animals was unforgettable memories. Six days was perfect choice to us. We mete people who did shared safari and they were complain about their colleagues always late. Lazaro show us lot of places. We did waterfall , kikuletwa hotspring and lake chala.
He’s motto “come as the guests, leave as the family “ real working. Now have family in Tanzania and we looking forward to come back.
I will miss lazaro

You can find same property like Arusha holiday but we believe you cant find same people. Lazaro owner and Hope are the best. We became family in few moments. Lazaro knows lot of places, He also own Tour company Africa Magic Holidays . Though we had limited time he manage to plan 3 days safari serengeti and ngorongoro. Again you can find cheap tour companies but you will not get best safari . We left Arusha at 5:00am and arrived serengeti around 9:30. We saw lot of animals. Serengeti was olalaa, so amazing. Lazaro is the good organization. You just have book he’s house and he will planning rest of your vacation and you might save money because he knows cheap. Our safari was little expensive because it was private. He also go safari with us because he was not busy. We’re looking forward to meet you again Lazaro.

I loved Arusha holidays safari. It is best place to immersing with local people . Kids around are so friendly and alway will want to play with you. Lazaro find me a join group safari for very reasonable price. Most of people in arusha are brokers and they charging a lot. My four days safari was wonderful, i saw big four with other many animals. Abdul our guide and driver he knows right place to go in right time. Also lazaro organize for me all trip from Arusha to moshi were I visited hotspring and materuni waterfall, then i go Lushoto for two nights, i will recommend Lushoto for nature lovers . After Lushoto I went to Dar es salam someone was waiting me to drive me to ferry then I spent six nights in zanzibar. All this was organized by Lazaro. I will send my parents next and am high recommend this homestay if you not fancy person. You will learn a lot than you expected.
I came as the guests but left as the family.
How birds wake me up. First morning i was scared but second day i loved it .

Everything was from beginning to the end was an impression we would not like to have missed it. A very nice place within the nature , the rooms and house itself packed all nice in detail. Lazaro a heart person taking care of all including the very testy and delicious local foods. He also own tour company Africa Magic Holidays. We planned to do six shared safari but he recommended us to do private safari since this was lifetime experience we didn’t care to pay more to get our own adventure. The safari was best of the best i could never thought, We were so lucky we saw all big five, our guide who speak fluent French he spot animals we could never see if we were alone. Justin he has experience of 11 years. We spot our own animals and he gave us all details we need. I cant explain the beauty of Serengeti, the land scape, animals behavior was something i will always miss. Two nights in serengeti was best option lazaro recommend us. The traditional cooking lesson with his cousin Mr.Hope including enjoying the food afterward together with his friend Yaya. We looking very much to come again.
Leaving.

First i was too happy to find someone called Lazaro like me😊. If you real want to explore local life and meet local people then am highly recommend this place. It is another home. You will live with two kind and funny guys Lazaro & Hope. They will take care of you. They organize 4 days shared safari and it was wonderful. It is true you will go as guests but leave as the family. Hope to come again Arusha.

Everything was perfect! It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the food Hope cooked was always delicious and typical Tansanian. We got great insights into the lifestyle of Tansanian young people and they showed us around in the village. We had such interesting conversations and almost laughed to tears! Always felt very safe. Also they organized 2 days Professional Safari for us which was a wonderful experience. Everything they do, they do with Heart. Distance to the City is not a problem because they give you a ride. Whatever you want to do in Tansania they can organize immediately and for a reasonable price.
In the End you will be sad to leave... :-(
4.7
Full board included in price. Our cook Hope made the most delicious meals. Hope and Lazaro were very friendly and flexible on our schedules, we had many long and enjoyable conversations.
Location. Distance from city is not so far, but the road there is in bad condition. Therefore it takes some 20 minutes to get to city. One can not imagine to walk to city, unless wanting some real excercise.
