Fantastic host

The host Amaro Filipe was really fantastic. Very friendly and extremely helpful. You can ask him anything. He even did a wonderful private boat tour with us to show us the very nice caves around the island. We also booked a car via him. The house is very convenient with a nice terrace that has a very nice view over the sea and the Pico island. It is fantastic having our breakfast there. The host provided some bread, jam, butter, coffee and milk for the first morning.

We are a family with 2 daughters and for that the house was a bit small, since the daughters had to sleep on a sofa bed in the living room. But we knew this beforehand, so it was our own choice.

A simpatia e acolhimento do Filipe que é um anfitrião espetacular. A propriedade fica num lugar muito especial, com excelentes vistas.

O estado de conservação e manutenção do bungalow pode ser melhorado.

Bungalow with amazing views.

The view from the property is amazing. You get the see the ocean and Pico island right from your balcony. The location is also very convenient to explore Sao Jorge island. It's centrally located with easy access to main island roads. Lastly, the best restaurant (Art Restaurant Manezinho) in our opinion is just 5 mins drive from the property.

The property is advertised as a bungalow, but still, it needs some work to make it more appealing. The bathroom in particular needs to be remodeled to provide a better shower. The one on our bungalow had a telephone shower, but it lacked the hanger to put it on the wall, so it was a bit challenging to wash your hair. Also, the bungalows can get really hot during the day, and would not cool down to comfortable level at night, so a fan or an AC unit is really needed, especially if staying there during the summer.

La posizione vale il prezzo, la struttura no

Location favolosa fronte mare.

La struttura potrebbe essere mantenuta in migliori condizioni dato che c erano diverse cose rotte ( box doccia, tende) e basterebbe una facile manutenzione per renderla migliore. La pulizia non era perfetta....c erano grosse ragnatele negli angoli delle porte e polvere in alcuni punti.

Schöner Ort, Ausstattung basic.

Ausblick ist phantastisch, der Zugang über steile Erdstrasse gewöhnungsbedürftig. Bett war sehr gut und Dusche hat auch funktioniert. Abholung und Mietauto haben sehr gut funktioniert. Angenehm entspannter Host.

Ausstattung der Küche sehr basic, d.h. es gab nichts, kein Salz, Pfeffer oder Öl. Will man selbst kochen muss man alles kaufen, d.h. die Küche lohnt sich nur, wenn man länger bleibt. Die Rollos, die vor der Sonnen schützen sind auswechselbedürftig, d.h. sie lösen sich teilweise oben ab oder lassen sich nicht mehr richtig aufrollen.

Amazing; My partner and I would definitely stay again.

The view from our room was absolutely amazing. It was very quiet and watching the moon at night and the sunrise in the morning was incredible.

Simple but peaceful

Die Aussicht war wirklich super, wir konnten direkt auf das mehr und damit auch auf die Insel Pico blicken. Auch stand unser Häuschen abseits und wir hatten so viel Privatsphäre.

Wir hatten jeden Tag Probleme mit dem Warmwasser. Hier mussten wir immer unserem Gastgeber anrufen, damit er den Boiler wieder in Gang bringt. Erst am 3 Tag gab es dann wirkliche Maßnahmen, dass der Boiler konstant läuft. Auch beim Internet mussten wir unseren Gastgeber zweimal erinnern, bis wir das mobile Gerät bekommen haben. Die Ausstattung bräuchte eine Überholung, teilweise war die Küchenausstattung kaputt und der Tisch war auch sehr wackelig. Allen in allem war der Gastgeber immer nett und sofort zur Stelle!

Perfect, needed to be longer

The view is magnificent, the bungalow has a great balcony with table and chairs to enjoy the view of the sea and Pico across. Always changing! Just below the property there is a trail (in fact it is cemented, so good for biking or baby trolleys) that leads to spots for swimming. The bungalows are not close to each other, so there is privacy and it is very quiet. It is also very well located, the main road across the island is on the property entrance, so easy to go anywhere. The owner was really nice, and gave us a lot of support. And there was a lovely welcome basket with bread, homemade jam, coffee, milk, great for breakfast!

Exceptional

Filipe was such a great host! He really made our Trip to Sao Jorge special, not only did tell us all about what to do on the island and where to but also was such an attentive host. The bungalo located centrally on the island which makes it a great place for exploring the island, however one should book a car for that. The bungalow even had a washing machine with a perfect view of mount pico and at night one could hear the sound of the azorean birds / wildlife.

I still wake up everyday hoping that it's here that i'm waking up!

These bungalows where honestly what i had in mind when booking my trip to Açores and it did not disappoint. They are equipped with everything necessary (washing machine!!!!) Filipe has an incredible vision and he's an amazing host! From being a tour guide to us on his home island, to providing the best comfort and even some extras you will definitely enjoy! (still thinking about banana jam too!) The view you get plus the quietness at night: chef's kiss. With a car you can get everywhere in the island from the location of the houses. I'd also recommend doing the trail walk just in front - especially at sunset or early in the morning. Obrigada Filipe & até breve!

It's a very nice retreat, although a bit worn down, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings

The views, the location, and surroundings are great. You have a little balcony to sit in and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, they gave us a welcome basket and accommodated our early checkin. Staff were top.

The place needs a little renovation, we had a broken window with some tape, the bathroom door didn't close, and the washing machine made the whole thing shake like a maraca. But don't get me wrong, it's worth it.

Fantastic view. Location perfect. Nice goodies like coffee, bread, home made jam. Owner prepared to help with anything. Gave a very good map and explanation of all the sites and places to go to.

Need a hairdryer and couple of kitchen implements like an egg flip, a medium size saucepan etc.

the cleanliness was not the best. the state of the bungalow was a little outdated, and could be fixed up but nothing to worry too much about.

Go nowhere else in Sao Jorge for your accommodation

Incredible setting: the images don’t lie. Felipe is a very hospitable host who knows how to accomodate his guests. Special mention for the cheese bread and coffee in the morning.

Our bungalow was fine but a bit of refurbishment will soon be well thought.

Cosy quiet stay in lovely nature

The location was really great. Don’t trust the adress information on booking though and look it up on google (we drove the wrong way) or use coordinates provided by the host. The view is amazing, and you really have some privacy. We really loved spending time on the terras, either for a sunrise view at breakfast or a sunset/moon view at dinner in the evening. The place is very cosy and service is excellent. Breakfast is taken care off everyday, and they even provide tablets for using the washing machine!

The place could use some maintenance, and some storage room. The shower did not really work properly and there were no mosquito nets in the windows.

The view and location is great.

As stated in other reviews , the bungalows could use some renovations especially in the bathrooms. Also, there is no air conditioning, or screens on the windows so providing a fan for the summer months would have been useful.

Fantastic

Amazing location, one of the best views I've ever had in any hotel. You could just chill for a few days on the terrace, not doing anything else, and it would be good enough :) Add to this very nice and helpful owner, comfortable bungalow, good location to explore the island (you should definitely do it, no matter how cool is the view from the terrace, São Jorge is a beautiful island worth exploring) and you have fantastic stay. Very recommended

As some other people mentioned, there are some minor imperfections (like a loose tile in a bathroom etc). Internet wasn't that great (unfortunately it's a mobile net so it's not super fast and can stop working suddenly when quota is finished). But all those issues were either completely negligible or quickly solved by the owner, and none has affected my satisfaction from my stay there

Beautiful location. Waking up en enjoying your coffee while facing the ocean and Pico Island. It’s silent which gives you that ‘remote’ feeling. Every morning 2 fresh breads and 2 coffeepads deliverd. On the first morning also some cheese and home made marmelade. Fresh towels every day. Kind and friendly host!

The facilities in the house, mainly the kitchen, were a bit insufficient. This made cooking a bit difficult. The bed and couch were not comfortable. The shower was moldy. During severe rain the water was leaking from the roof in the bathroom and the water also came into the living room via the opening underneath the door / windows. Our expectations were not very high (in terms of luxery) for this price, but these basic things are in need of an upgrade.

Intact? Not really

Amazing view; daily change of towels; unexpected breakfast (cheese, bread, jam, and coffee on the first day; on the second just bread and coffee).

Bad preserved. No amenities like tea, salt, and so on. Anyway don’t expect to be able to cook, there is no exhaust fan nor doors separating the room and kitchenette. Also, not having doors makes uncomfortable to share the bungalow with other people. They prepare the bungalow for 4, but it is really not adequate. Not enough light in the exterior area that accesses the bungalow. Be careful with the car rental !!!! They rented us a jipe, it broke the next day, we lost about two hours dealing with it. They called someone to rent us a van, which was all right. But we ended up losing the money of the gas we put in the jipe.

Could have been amazing.

The owner was very friendly and brought breakfast (but I preferred a proper clean and maintance of the bathroom) and the view was amazing.

Really in need of some maintenance. I was really uncomfortable in the bathroom. The shower was dirty and rusty, the toilet didn't flush properly which caused a lot of water loss. Yet the cleaning material present is all 'eco'. The blanket on the bed had a cigarette burn in it and the area smelled bad.
