Views , access , short walk to slopes

You get what you pay for. You get what is advertised. The proximity to Sugar Mountain and the ski in, ski out feature is great. We bought our lift tickets in advance, put our skis on and a short walk and you’re on the slopes skiing on the green in no time. It was easy to park at the condo and it was easy to drive to Sugar Mountain and park if you wanted. We were able to use the kitchen to cook and it was very well stocked I would say. We did like the fact that they were plenty of places to hang coats and ski gear.
A few negatives… The place smells of old cigarette smoke, the beds are uncomfortable, as well as the sheets. The carpet was old and dingy. The showers were old and tile was cracked and a little moldy in spots. There is only one TV in the living room, which is not convenient if you have kids wanting to go to their own rooms and watch TV before going to bed.
This place needs a major update.

Good property, a little updating wouldn't hurt.

Great location and comfortable. Could use updating but fine for us and our purpose of skiing.

This property has a wonderful location with opportunities to ski-in/ski-out from Sugar Mountain slopes. The kitchen had the supplies we needed for basic cooking. There were plenty of beds, though they weren't particularly comfortable. While this place isn't fancy, it met our family's ski vacation needs.

We loved the cond. Great accommodations and accurate listing!

The property was very well located for ski-in, ski-out IF there is lots of snow. Otherwise it’s a walk to the slope and rental shack. Also you have to climb stairs to get to this 3rd floor condo.
Small kitchen, no room to store our groceries, old appliances.
Too many useless throw pillows on the beds and empty duvet covers that didn’t make sense.
Otherwise, great patio area overlooking slopes, comfortable dining, seating and sleeping areas.
4.3
It’s right at the base of the resort. You can ski down to the lifts with ease.
4.3
This is an aging little chalet space in need of some updates and repairs. Sugar Mountain is a fine location and this overlooks the resorts ski lifts. The location is convenient to area activities.

In general, everything was very good. I was very happy to find an electrical kettle in the kitchen! It would’ve been nice to have a toaster in the kitchen and a soap bar in every bathroom (we only found one), but, overall, everything was great. Thank you for the cozy stay!

Great location. Lots of room. Small kitchen. Clean. Loved looking out the window at the slopes and being able to walk down without the parking and lines.

Great location in the building and in relation to the mountain. The 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths were and are perfect for our family. This was probably the coldest weekend of the season and year, not one issue with the heat in the unit, other than it worked so well we had to keep it very low. We will try and stay here when we come back for sure.

We had so much fun , clean and quite . Enough room for all of us , so Impressed, three bedrooms and three baths!

Handicap accessible
Was thinking access was ground level. Realized upon arrival I had to climb stairs. Took awhile, but I managed. If there is no place to check on potential handicapped guests, they need to know ahead of time. Found out the day of arrival and too late to switch. If it was on accommodations, I did not see it.

Very pleased with property, turns out it was in walking distance of Octoberfest. Very small but adequate kitchen. Rooms were as expected. Would definitely stay again. Very quiet.

Nice place
The pictures are slightly different from the actual condo. The kitchen is very small...two people max! It was a little difficult to find. GPS was not terribly helpful. I'm glad my sister was already there and could talk me in.
LOVED the location! LOVED the view! LOVED the sound of the creek that runs behind the condo! Slept 6 comfortably! I would recommend staying here.

Unit was well equipped, furniture was updated and our problems were resolved quickly (clogged master bath sink, pilot light out on the fireplace). Did not like the glasses kept in the "wall cabinet" they had a strange/old smell. Refrigerator did not cool very well. However, a great walk to the steps that led to the slopes. Unit warms up quickly (if you're cold). I bet it's warm in there in the summer time... Kitchen had everything we needed (minus dishwashing detergent for the dishwasher). Lots of sleeping spaces-great time with the family.

Great Location...but dated interior
Likes: We loved the location and how easy it was to get to the slopes. Plenty of room and 3 full baths. Plenty of pillows and a great gas fireplace.
Dislikes: No paper towels, no trash bags, no 1st night of coffee, 1/4 roll of toilet paper left in each bathroom with 1 full roll left for all 3 bathrooms. I had to drive in bad weather to go get toilet paper, coffee, and paper towels. I would have brought them with me had I known prior to arrival. I have rented places like this before and typically they leave enough supplies to get you started for at least a day.

Good budget-friendly option
The condo is in a nice location. We did a lot of hiking and biking during our stay and found that we were really close to trails (especially the Profile Trail on Grandfather Mountain and downhill mountain biking on Sugar Mountain). We were just a short drive from away from a lot of great hikes along the Blueridge Parkway. With 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths, the condo was also larger than other units we had looked at that were similar in price. As a family of 5 it was nice to have a 3rd bedroom (as opposed to have a child on a sleeper sofa) and a 3rd bathroom.
The furnishings (furniture, carpet, kitchen cabinets and appliances) are worn and dated, but the photos are accurate, and we were aware of that when we booked. There is no air conditioning, which worried us somewhat since we were coming in mid-July. When we first walked in about 4:30 in the afternoon, it was uncomfortably warm in the unit and I was worried we had made a big mistake. But we opened all of the windows, and it cooled down quickly. We slept with the windows open, and by the next morning, it was even cool enough that we put on long sleeves. Throughout our stay, we kept the windows open during the cooler parts of the day and that kept it a comfortable temperature inside. The daytime highs were in the 80s.
The unit was clean, although the older furnishings do distract from the "clean" feeling. We cooked every night and found the kitchen adequate for cooking. Some of the pans and utensils are obviously well-used. The appliances are old, but it was nice to have a dishwasher and a washer and dryer.
We also enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the mountain bikers go up and down the mountain.
So overall, the unit is worn and dated, but it was clean and a good value.

Ski Weekend Perfection
We stayed for a long weekend which was the busiest ski weekend so far this season. To be able to walk down from the place and be right on the slope was priceless. We avoided the crowds at the lodge, didn't have to rent a locker, didn't have to worry about parking, and we were able to easily go back to the condo to take a break. I can't say enough about the convenience and location! Also, the view is amazing, the rooms are comfortable and there was plenty of room to relax. I would highly recommend - I know I will definitely be back!!

Worn and outdated but nice view of slopes
Nice view of slopes but too worn and outdated. Good for college students but not clean enough for adults. Adequate beds and supplies. TV was broken and wasn’t fixed during our stay.
4.3
Worn, dated unit with nice slopes view
The view of the slopes and fireplace are best features. Worn dirty living room furniture and carpet.. Dated 70s decor. Moderately clean otherwise.
