Quiet. Helpful. Spacious. Relaxing.

We did love this place. The building, the rooms, the bar, everything looks antique and cosy. We had a nice and comfortable stay for a reasonable price.

Presidential Suite is clean and spacious for our family of 4. Morning breakfast is good. Shared bathroom is not ideal, but they are very clean and there are 2 in each floor which are more than enough for guests to share.

Great location, great breakfast, grand bedroom and great staff.
Shared bathrooms, although they were utterly clean and pretty.
Very thin walls, could be quite noisy.

Great location and great staff

comfy bed, clean, cozy atmosphere
it's actually impossible to get any sleep, especially if you get room 9. it's situated between the two shared bathrooms, and it's so unbelievably noisy to have people running to the bathroom at all hours of the day and night. the sound of the door lock in the bathrooms can wake the dead. combine this with the creaking floorboards, sound of flushing water and zero insulation in the walls, and you can hear everything that goes on in the place. bring your own ear plugs.

Shared bathrooms but they were very clean.
Their restaurant has a limited menu but it is good
The structure is a bit old, there is not much insulation, in the summer it's ok but i guess in the winter it is going to be cold

It is an interesting building, and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. There are shops close by, a nice bakery a short walk away and also a pizza place at the lakeside which was great.
The bathrooms were clean and had everything needed. (we had a shared bathroom).
They cook dinner in the evenings as an option to eat, but we opted to eat out. it smelled good though.
The beds were comfortable enough.
The walls were thin. We were above the bar area so getting to sleep before the music and talking stopped was hard. Also the person in the room next door snored really loudly.

You can feel an old, traditional house in Norway.
I like this atmosphere.
If there is a breakfast service, it will be great.

The old town feel and the maintenance of the property was incredible
You can hear every room which was wierd but not something which I disliked though.

Nice location. Very old, attractive building. Piece of history . Lovely view from the window. Clean bathrooms.
The room was tiny, no closet, only one bedside table. There was no kettle or any cups. The bathrooms had no shampoo or shower gel. Beds were very uncomfortable. Had trouble sleeping because the walls are very thin and you can hear people moving around in the hallways.

Location excellent, our room (family room) was indeed perfect for a family. Very spacious, and a well-equipped cooking area. Nice rustic details and touches. Bathroom was very nice. Beds were comfy. Could easily have stayed a week.
Sleeper couch was defective, hopefully that will be fixed soon. Lighting in the main room was poor. Access is by a steep stair/ladder, so not wheelchair friendly.

Nice location, nice outside seating area of the restaurant, friendly staff.
The dinner buffet was not the best.
Most (or all? I'm not sure) rooms don't have en-suite bathrooms. That's OK and it was clear when we booked. However our room was near to multiple bathrooms. Combine that with the non-existing sound dampening of the old (but otherwise lovely) building and it's difficult to fall asleep before every last guest has finished walking through the corridor, using the bathrooms etc.

Everything was perfect! There were only two booked rooms so they didn’t serve breakfast, but they opened one room with kitchen for us so we could have used that and help ourselves :)
