The house is quaint and comfortable.
We had booked a cheaper room, as I thought that was all that was available, but the owner upgraded us to a bigger room in the main house free of charge. Thank you 🙏🏼
The staff were all very friendly.
We also had dinner there, the food was delicious.

Breakfast was excellent and the dinner superb. Staff were great and made us most welcome. We would definitely stay again

The location was lovely, with an easy walk in to Ardara. The breakfasts were good, with plenty options and we had a meal one night which was excellent.
The guest house is looking tired and there was a musty smell in the bedroom. Service was slow at breakfast.

location was very convenient to town, but secluded for rest and relaxation
quicker turnaround on breakfast

The walled garden, which is shaped like a Celtic cross, was lovely, as were the views from the front of the house It was a short and safe walk into Ardara and a good home base for exploring the coastline.

Breakfast could have been better. Location lovely

The history and site of the hotel. views from our bedroom glorious
A little tired around the edges

Breakfast very good
Shower is poor. Dinner service is far too slow. Waited 10 mins at the table to be told the starter was not available. Dish of plaice and cockles arrived without cockles. Room 11 is cold.

great friendly staff and wonderful old style service

The breakfast was really good, staff very pleasant and attentive. Enjoyed the quirkiness of the coach house rooms.
We walked back from the town one night but found that there was no lighting on the road, eventually found our way with help of fone torch, otherwise the setting was beautiful.

Breakfast was great, fantastic location just a suggestion building looking tired could do with a uplift
I have lovely memories of woodhill, I stayed there back in the 90’s and oo years. John is still there at the end of the night x

The owner John was extremely welcoming and offered us a larger room than we had booked. The garden and setting are lovely.
Mattresses were very soft.

Loved the country feel and great bar area with such friendly and helpful staff. Room was warm and clean. Staff helpful to get taxi to local town with no pressure to eat at venue. Breakfast was nice and anything asked for was provided. Beautiful house
Think the gardens need some TLC. Still in good condition but look at little run down. Photos of Garden looked better than they were.

The wonderful host, John, and the two lovely staff ladies, everyone we met at the hotel welcomed us on our first visit to this beautiful little town with great hospitality. It was as heartwarming and nostalgic as if we were visiting our grandparents (if they existed) in rural Ireland. In the evening we went to Nancy's, a nearby pub that John had told us about, and had a great time there until late. It is very convenient that there are restaurants and pubs only about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel before checking out. The delicious breakfast was brought to our table full of food and filled our hearts and stomachs. We were very happy to stay at this hotel and hope to return next time when the garden is in bloom. After we got home we watched the movie "Dancing at Lughnasa" that John had mentioned to us and soaked up the aftermath of our memorable trip.

John and his staff were exceptional hosts- We had booked a standard room, They had the availability and placed us in a bigger room with the most amazing view.
Every morning we were greeted at breakfast - nothing was too much to ask, the breakfast was fresh and tasty.
John and his staff know the area really well & had suggestions on where to go each day.
The house is lovely and warm/ cosy feel . I would highly recommend this B&B if ever travelling to Ardara.
nothing bad to say

The facilities need to be upgraded. Behind the bed was filthy, cobwebs on the ceiling. Only 1 station working with the TV. No dinner option on Sunday night.
The staff and the breakfast was lovely. The bar is cute. The place is rustic and charming.

The breakfast was very nice, we both had full Irish. Would be nice to have the option of something lighter though such as pancakes, eggs benedict etc.
The property itself needs some updating i.e the building itself is in bad need of painting. I liked the interior which is very old style/antique. I just feel it needs a bit of TLC.
