Gorgeous view, cleanliness of the rooms, very pleasant staff.

The views are stunning overlooking the Amalfi coast. It is a luxury to have a private view of the coast line without loads of crowds. The property also is close to Sofia Lorens villa so you are getting a view of that villa too. The property was decorated beautifully and everyone was very obliging and friendly.
You need a scooter or car for this property. It is a 30 + minute walk to Amalfi on roads with no footpaths. There are bus stops close by but the buses are not reliable.

Love the view, the food, the staff!!!
Wish it was easier to walk to town.

Breakfast was served on their beautiful patio overlooking Amalfi coast. The service was excellent and our breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious.

Nothing, couldn't find the place.
Never made it there. The traffic was so horrible. I could not find it, I went by the alleged place 3 times, I called, there was no answer, no one to help me.

This was the best stay of our whole trip in Italy. The staff are absolutely incredible and want to make your trip so special. Francesca made sure we had everything we needed and was always accessible to help us and give us good tips. The second you arrive, you are greeted with kindness and welcomed to relax from the moment you arrive.
The property is spectacular. You truly get to disconnect and have access to a beautiful private beach, secluded lounging areas, a sauna, surprise outdoor showers to rinse off and stunning views. We found it was the perfect little place to escape from the tourists in the busier city centers, but still had great central access to exploring the surrounding cities.
The breakfast is DELICIOUS and in the most peaceful and serene location you can possibly imagine. You feel like you are royalty. It was truly peaceful, breath-taking and welcoming space.
We loved every moment of it and felt so grateful to have found such a gem.
The only thing we didn't love was the restaurants nearby. We found them to be more expensive and not too good. Other thing was that the hot tub doesn't get too hot, but is still nice to enjoy on a warm day.

Our stay was amazing.
Francesca our host booked meals and transport for us and gave fantastic advice to make our stay perfect.
The views and privacy were the best we’ve known and the breakfast - wow!
4.5
gorgeous view, very tranquil, helpful staff, good location, private dock and beach
the hot tub is not heated- disappointing, especially as it was cool in the evenings, so we couldn’t use it. the shower continued to have standing water and things floating in it from the drain- we notified them on the first night, but they never fixed it. They were very helpful when asked, but there were details we wish we’d know ahead of time (when staff are available, when food is available etc) and it would be good for them not to make it the priority to say, beyond all else, “you pay extra for that”- they were very money conscious about everything, which seemed unwelcoming and uncomfortably awkward at times. Also, it’s 166 steps and an uphill 300 meter walk to one of two restaurants, neither of which are casual, so unless you bring your own car or you plan on going out for dinner, best bring food down to the villa with you, or you’ll be facing a $40+ per person dinner requiring reservations and a long walk to get there if you wish to eat dinner.
they were helpful in making the reservations, but there is absolutely nothing convenient/close by to the villa, and they don’t stock anything you have access to with food. they also need to air condition the bathrooms- you have to leave the windows open, which have no screen, so you get lots of mosquitoes in the bathroom- yikes!!! we each have 40+ bites on our legs after a 5 day stay there….

Too many stairs

Beautiful property. Private beach, engaged in cliff jumping into the Mediterranean. The annex is amazing and super private - if you book you will not be disappointed.
Only difficulty is the amount of stairs, if stairs are difficult for you it isn’t your place. Otherwise, absolutely amazing.

Francesca was very helpful, good breakfast and great villa with a private beach and other great amenities such as hot tub, sauna
great property however location is about 30 minutes walking from city center (8-10 min car ride or bus ride) no big deal if you like to walk. lots of steps but I feel like that's pretty standard with all properties in the amalfi coast

The breakfast was very nice, and the hostess was very accomodating.
There are a LOT of steps to get to the Villa. It's not convenient to get to the main city. There is a bus, but it was sometimes full. Taxi is pretty expensive for the short ride. Walking takes about 30 minutes, and there isn't much shade.

Francesca was wonderful! Villa Santa Maria is a hidden surprise on the Amalfi Coast. Far enough away to feel very private but close enough to go into town easily. We spent most of our time at the Villa because of the fantastic private beach and all day snacks and drinks! Many people have mentioned the steps but this is Amalfi! The coast was built on steps! If you don't like steps you should avoid the Amalfi coast. We will definitely return to this secret paradise hotel if we return to Amalfi and will always remember how well we were treated by Francesca and the rest of the staff. Also breakfast on the terrace every morning was sublime! Francesca also handled reservations at a fantastic restaurant in Praiano and organized a free water taxi for us as transportation that picked us up and dropped us off right at the hotel. A perfect romantic evening!

The staff at Villa Santa Maria was INCREDIBLE! Francesca helped us with so many bookings, from water taxis, renting mopeds, to dinner reservations, which were all amazing. Eduardo brought all of our bags up and down the many many stairs and did it with a smile. The views from the hotel were amazing and other amenities were a bonus like amazing breakfast, access to a private beach with small pier for water taxis, hot tub, etc. This place is close enough to Amalfi city center and restaurants to get there easily but far enough away to feel like a private oasis. Would absolutely stay here again!

Fantastic Experience!
4.0
The property land was stunning. It includes a hot tub, sauna and private beach area. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff were so accommodating and kind. When we visited, there were not many people staying at the hotel so it was extremely quiet and peaceful.
The property is roughly a 10 minute drive away from Amalfi so requires a taxi/boat taxi to get to the centre- This is extremely expensive! The hotel is basically situated on the edge of a cliff so requires an extreme amount of steps up/down to get to the main reception as well as getting up/down to the beach.

The location is great, view is just unbelievable and Francesca makes sure your stay meets the highest standards. Will for sure stay there again.
Maybe the stairs but its not really to bad as the hotel will assist you with the bags.

location and staff

We loved staying here! It is in a beautiful location with awesome sea views. The villa is very clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the beach area was nice. We also really enjoyed the complementary breakfast. Overall, we would stay here again and recommend this place.
A thing to point out is it is difficult to get here. Taxis in downtown Amalfi don't want to take you here due to the "distance" and the buses don't stop at the nearby bus stop a lot of times. You're best bet is to walk the two miles that it is located from downtown, which can be difficult with luggage. We used hiking backpacks for this trip, which was a life saver. There are a lot of stairs to get down to the villa as well, so this is also something else to keep in mind.
3.5
Beautiful views of Amalfi and the ocean. It was lovely that breakfast was included and we could eat overlooking the views in the morning. Good facilities including jacuzzi and private beach area. Rooms were clean but basic. Bathroom was great!
There are A LOT of stairs to get up to main road, and also down to the private beach. For anyone with less accessibility, this could be a massive issue as there are no other ways to get around. Location is about 30 mins walk to Amalfi town. Unless you take the public bus or pay an expensive taxi, the walk is not so safe as there are not much pedestrian paths.
