Anfahrt schwierig, da nirgends steht das man via Domplatz und Fahrverbotsgasse fahren muss Dusche leider unten an den Dichtungen grün und nicht sauber

A lovely short stay in the hill town of Orvieto

Great location close to the Duomo and the bus stop that runs a circular route from the funicular station to the piazza Duomo. So we were able to arrive by train , transfer to the funicular , straight onto the bus and short walk to hotel, all very convenient. The room was large , high ceilings and with lots of room for suitcases etc and with a wardrobe, desk TV (with BBC news). The hotel has a convenient garden seating area and the reception also has a guest seating area which is good for getting better WiFi reception which tended to be a bit hit and miss in the room. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent.

I thought it was weird and somewhat unsettling having to leave my room key at the desk every time we left the building.

Nice hotel in a medieval hill town.

Orvieto is a hilltop town in Umbria, mostly empty in the off-season, above the train station. The tram and bus left us a couple hundred yards of cobblestone from the hotel. The hotel was nice enough, and the proprietors gracious and helpful. Our large room included a balcony and a view of the cathedral.

We have nothing for this section, other than the wifi was limited and sketchy at best. Breakfast was okay for a small hotel, and they made the coffee to order. Thin walls and noisy neighbors (obliviously over-sharing intimacies) were not necessarily the fault of the hotel.

We were in the hotel annex which was located some distance from the hotel. Not so good when goibg for breakfast in bad weather.

We would stay again. Would they be a bit more gracious to people who paid ahead for their meal?

Location, cleanliness, comfort

Breakfast is included in the price of the room. On our second morning we had to leave the hotel at 7:15 to continue our trip before their breakfast room opened at 7:30. We asked if we can just take a couple rolls to make sandwiches, or grab a coffee to take with us. There was no flexibility. That certainly didn’t leave us with a warm welcoming feeling.

The size of room, bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the balcony.

The owner could have been a bit friendlier. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time.

Comfortable stay right next to the Duomo

Great location, right next to the Duomo. Fantastic to have valet parking as parking is a challenge in the historical town. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We had booked a quadruple room, one of the kids bed was a little uncomfortable

Nice Hotel right next to the Duomo

Hotel in a great location, literally 50 metres away from the Duomo which is an incredible piece of architecture and one of a kind representation of italian art at its best. The Hotel is managed by a Family that doesn't do things by halves - they take care of everything from breakfast to parking your car in the hotel private space ( and that helps a lot in Orvieto's tiny streets ) and they are very nice and attentive to customer service. Overall it's a great value for money and I am very happy we chose Hotel Duomo as our go-to for the little trip we took to Orvieto.

I think the keys system is a bit retro as it's a pretty big key and key chain and you're invited to leave it at reception whenever you go out of the hotel, rather than having a card key set-up, but since there's 24/7 reception service it's really not a big deal.

Many positive’s that almost outweighed the not so positive… love the family run business personal model!

love the 24 staff, abundant breakfast, clean room, central location.

My room was very small, and walls/ neighbor noise was transparent- could hear full conversation and neighbors snoring along with echo of screaming children early in the morning. The positives almost outweighed the not so… but only here for 2 nights & value was good.
