This house was wonderful! We had plenty of space to spread and there was enough room in the common areas for us all to hang out together. We enjoyed cooking together in the kitchen and found everything we needed. The only downfall was the refrigerator was a bit small to hold the groceries for the number of people we had. Everything was clean and ready to go when we checked in.

The house was very nice and had plenty of room for our entire family. We were a little disappointed that it didn’t have a grill. We like to grill out a lot while on vacation and were limited to cooking everything inside. Whenever we needed anything,, all we had to do was call and someone was there to take care of it right away. There were ants in some of the rooms and if I had known that earlier I would have had someone come to spray for them.

When we arrived the pool was absolutely flithy with leaves dirt and leaves everywhere , worn out deck chairs and even animal feces on the pool deck. There were enormous ants that had taken over the weathered and worn out staircase to the front door. My heart sank , as I worried about what we would find inside but the inside is beautifully decorated and clean. Many things do not work or do not work properly in the home including the oven and the range. It is also poorly stocked with large pots or pans or serving ware so difficult to serve families. Our desire to rent a home was to be able to eat at home and not struggle with making reservations for 8 and a one year old or deal with the crowds at restaurants during local college graduations and Mother’s Day weekend. There is also not a grill. Cooking is very difficult at this home. There are also no beach towels. The porches were filthy. There is rotting wood on the exterior porches and staircases. There is a reason there are only interior pictures of this home. The access to the beach is great after you wind down the rusty spiral staircase from the dirty porches to the ground floor. Neighbors are wonderful. We borrowed a large pot to do lobster . This house is the run down rental in a lovely neighborhood. Beds inside are comfortable and concierge was responsive and had pool cleaned by the next day but our burst “average” experience with vrbo. We were glad to be together as family so kept it positive the whole weekend and just dealt with the realities with a sense of humor. We enjoyed the beach and beach access.

We rented this house for 2 weeks around the 4th of July. We were familiar with this property as we had rented it 2years ago at Thanksgiving. The inside of the house is good with 6 bedrooms and a bathroom for each room but the overall property is in serious need of update. The gas stove did not work well and we could not get anyone to fix it during our 2 weeks. There were bugs and ants in the kitchen and cobweb/ spider webs in the dining room. The outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. Sone lounge chairs were actually broken. The pool need updating and repair. We were unable to fully open the gate to the pool because the brick pavers had shifted. We loved being close to the beach but we expected the house to be in better shape for the price that we payed

This was a huge, beautiful, well-thought out house. The pool is a nice touch but arguably unnecessary when you have a gorgeous beach just a few steps away. We had 14 people all told (including 5 college students, 7 older adults, and two 11-year-olds), and we had no problem finding beds and space for everyone. Internet and big TVs with cable all were fast and easy to use. The kitchen / upstairs area was ginormous and let us cook meals for 14 and socialize in the space all together afterwards. Even from the standards of making sometimes-elaborate meals for 14, the owners did not let us down, they have done a solid job having everything a kitchen needs (well, minus a coffee grinder, unless it's there somewhere; at least they had 2 large coffee makers!).
Wild Dunes unobtrusively sent people over to clean the pool twice while we were there, and to take the trash cans in the garage out to the street. Check-in and check-out was super easy and painless. The resort itself had phenomenal clay tennis courts and we even took some lessons we enjoyed.
Overall, 11 Dunecrest Lane was a nice, simple and tasteful place that was comfortable for a large group, had everything we needed, even felt elegant at times. And while people talk about the beach being "steps away," it really was something like 10 steps from the house to a sandy path, which was already basically beach in another 20 steps or so. What a gem!
