Friendly meet and greet by the host Glen made us feel welcome and at home. We enjoyed the spa, pool and sea views of the city. It was a great respite after a busy Matariki weekend in Auckland. We loved the brekkie toast, cereal.and a cuppa was all we needed after a quiet, relaxing night's sleep.

There's so many things that we loved about this place. Melissa was communicative and welcoming. She wrote the sweetest little signs to welcome us. We loved the quaint room that was truly perfect for our tiny family. It had everything we needed and the location was ideal. Melissa is a one of a kind host and we would stay again!
The ONLY reason we didn't give this place a 10 has absolutely NOTHING to do with the stay or with the host. We traveled with a two year old- and if you know anything about two year olds, they have their own agenda. Our little lamb struggled with the time change traveling from the States and was whiney during the nighttime hours. On the second night of our stay another family had checked in to the other space. We had returned home from a long day out and our son was crying- it wasn't too awfully late, but later in the night. Needless to say, the other family wasn't a fan of our son's crying and made it very apparent by stomping on the ground above us. SO while the space is private but shared with others, I will say that you can hear most things going on throughout the entire house. It never bothered us, and I totally understand no one wants to hear a crying baby- I mean we don't either and we are his parents LOL

The room, while not new, had an oceanic decor that made it feel fresh and cosy. Breakfast was simple and satisfying. The pool and jacuzzi were both breathtaking, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. My children had a wonderful time during our stay. Melissa, our host, was absolutely fantastic and made sure that we were comfortable throughout our visit.

Allowed us to check in an hour early
-I asked Jack if the pool is heated. He said it's a waste of money if they heat the pool during winter time. That's the reason why you heat the pool!! So people can swim even in cold season!! They had jacuzzi, but we just stayed for like 10mins since my 3yrs old son cant stay longer in a hot tub.
- view is a pro. BUT!! There were heaps of torny thing all over the outdoor! I think it's the flower buds from the tree outside. On the outdoor sofa, flooring.. anywhere! It just kept poking on our clothes and body!!
- I thought there would be a nice breakfast since I saw some fancy plates on your photos. That's misleading. I could have bought $2 bread and cereals for us!!!
- When we saw the lady owner last night, she immediately said we couldnt extend after 10am and we must leave immediately as the cleaner will come by that time. Such an arrogant way to say that. We're not even asking for an extension!!
- Read from the comments that there were no privacy. Yup!! We were on bed at 9pm and they were so loud chatting in the living room/dining area!!! However, I was scolding my son not to make noise as while he and husband were having a bit of a play, my son screamed and I heard a knock on the door. What a shame!!
- dirty and dusty room. Dirty house!
- No playground!!! It's in the photo that you have a playground, but I went and checked the other end and it's just full of nasty rubbish!!
-no board games. Another misleading offer!!
Youre doing it just for business only. Not to make people happy!! Our anniversary and mothers day were ruined.

Able to have breakfast. Good parking spot
It would have been good to have a decent chair to sit on and the step up to the door was difficult. To big a step

Spa was lovely.
Excellent communication prior to our arrival.
A little cramped for a family of four.
Felt sorry for my daughter as the single bed she was sleeping in was very uncomfortable leaving her with a sore back. It really needs replacing.
Bit of an issue with the electronic lock on the door not working, costing us time and petrol as we had to leave our son behind while driving half an hour to somewhere my daughter needed to be then come back and collect him once lock was fixed. I wasn't comfortable leaving the door unlocked as was suggested to us while other guests using the spa could see us struggling with it.

Don't like the idea of using opened cereals - Don't know how long ago its been opened and the milk was opened, used and smelled off

It was amazing for the kids. They loved the pool and even though it was too cold for me, I could watch them from the spa. The location is fabulous, we went to Onepoto domain which is less than 1 km away and we hung out at Takapuna Beach and playground and found lots of fabulous eateries.
Melissa was a very inviting, easy going host. The kids are super keen to stay again.

The property is beautiful. Melissa has done a superb job of kitting it out. Unfortunately for me, it rained the whole time I was there so I didn't get as much use out of the spa as I'd have liked - it has to-die-for views of Auckland. However, it was just what I needed. I was there for work, but felt as if I was at a resort. I loved the continental breakfast options, the location was great, and Melissa made sure I could easily get my car in and out of the driveway. I'd definitely stay there again.
The WiFi was problematic - I need good WiFi for work everywhere I travel but unfortunately struggled a bit with it on this occasion. However, Melissa connected me to another WiFi option in the house - it was better, but still not ideal so I had to HotSpot from my phone quite a bit. Do not let this put you off! This was just one issue and if you don't have to work constantly while you're there and can actually just enjoy your evenings at a beautiful property, you'll be fine - everything else is fantastic!
