The terrace
The room was small, bed was not comfortable and pillows looked dirty. Very noisy. Not like the pictures. Absolutely not a 4 star hotel.

The staff was super nice and accommodating. They always made sure to take care of our needs and I felt super safe there.
Great location however it’s such a great location that it’s noisy from all the music, dancing and surrounding beach life.

Location
We encountered a considerable lack of cleanliness in our assigned hotel room, which was compounded by the presence of ants. Furthermore, the provision of a single towel for the entirety of our stay proved insufficient, forcing both of us to utilize a single damp towel for drying purposes. Disturbingly, no housekeeping services were rendered throughout the duration of our four-day stay.
the staff proceeded to call the cleaning personnel, who was brought into the conversation via speakerphone. In an unprofessional and aggressive manner, she vehemently claimed to have left two towels, a situation that both offended and embarrassed me due to the public nature of the confrontation. I reluctantly conveyed my willingness to pay the requested amount of $200 pesos, as a gesture of goodwill, despite my conviction that it was unjust to be charged for an item that was absent from the room. Without hesitation, I settled the outstanding amount and promptly returned to the room to collect my belongings in preparation for checkout. However, to my dismay, upon my return, I was informed that an additional $200 pesos was required, without any explanation provided.
The issue at hand extends beyond the monetary aspect, as it pertains to the gross mistreatment, injustice, and discourteous behavior exhibited towards both myself and my mother

Nice View, since it was on the beach
the front desk woman made it mandatory we keep the noise level down, music not allowed, yet the music coming from the beach and bar below was so thumping loud all night long & people were raging until 5am. We couldn’t sleep. The beds were hard af. Harassing us to check out an hr earlier than booking stated. Overall, we can’t wait to NEVER come back again.

perfect location - close to everybody and everything
the locks on the door to the penthouse are old

The room was spacious and chic
I recently stayed at Hotel Vista Oceana Sayulita with my family and unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. While the website did mention that the hotel is located in a busy tourist town and that 'weekends can be noisy', we did not anticipate the extent of the noise levels during our stay. The music from nearby nightlife establishments played until midnight on Monday and until 2am on Thursday, making it impossible for us to get any rest.
To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi was not working for part of our stay, which made it difficult for us to stay connected with work and loved ones back home. We tried to address these issues with the hotel staff and requested a reduction in our cost or a transfer to a quieter hotel. However, we were met with unhelpful responses, and our request to speak with the manager was denied.
In addition, we felt unsafe in our room due to the sliding glass doors that were unable to fully close, leaving a one-inch gap.
Overall, I would not recommend staying at Hotel Vista Oceana Sayulita. Despite the website's warning about weekend noise levels, the extent of the noise was unbearable, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. The lack of helpfulness from the staff and the safety concerns in our room made our stay unpleasant

The hotel is right on the beach which was great. bed was comfortable and the patio has nice hammocks
The owner/receptionist is a lair.
The penthouses don’t have a balcony like the photos suggest. Room photos show/imply a large private balcony. I even messaged ahead to confirm what I interpreted from the photos but she never replied. When we got to the hotel (it’s a hostel really) she told us we had access to our own private balcony but only after 10pm. it’s not private. it’s the only outdoor communal area in the property. This meant we always had to keep our curtains drawn. even after 11 the other “penthouse” guests shared the patio with us so it was never private. If the ad has just been upfront about this we’d not have been as disappointed since it did seem to good to be true based on location and price (if it had a private balcony)
However, being treated as a fool is frustrating.
Each day she told us the same long story about the wifi only working from upstairs (feet away from downstairs reception) she fooled us for one or two days but then it was obvious they had stopped paying and it just became awkward to ask again and she didn’t care that we’d no way to checkin with family.
They turned off the AC while we were away to save money, the free coffee was usually gone unless you were there early enough to get a cup.
She told us Uber doesn’t work (it does used it both ways from PVR) and suggested we use her friends to take a taxi but the price was way higher than Uber or even the taxi from the square.
Its a shame the location is great but it’s spoiled by being tight fisted. could be amazing if they weren’t penny pinching

great spot right on the beach with a comfortable, clean room!
Azul was a wonderful hostess!

location
the staff was very adamant about not being able to have guests over. I don’t know if it’s a problem in Sayulita but I’ve never stayed anywhere that was like that. my family that was staying at a different hotel wanted to take a look at it and we’re told they couldn’t even go inside my room to look or I would be charged more for my stay. kind of ridiculous

The view from the balcony was unmatched - absolutely stunning, sitting in the hammocks at night, looking out over the ocean was just so incredible.
We had read online about the bar downstairs and... for Wednesday & Thursday, our stay was magical. Friday, the music started at about 930/1000 pm and went on and on and on and was so so loud - painfully so.

great view, owner is super nice and accommodating , location is perfect and
close to everything and the roof patio is awesome
it’s noisy at night till about midnight

The room was small but had everything i needed. The side view room was better than i expected for the price. Will be the first place i look for a room in Sayulita from now on.
Can be loud from clubs at times, but this is a party town.

The location was perfect. We had the pent house suite and it was amazing.
there is a bar under the hotel, so it can be extremely loud. but in the pent house suite the noise was tolerable.

The location was fantastic- great view of the beach and it was in the heart of the town! The deck was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Azul! I was worried about it being too loud after reading the reviews. We were on the top floor and did not find the noise particularly bothersome.

Nice location
The people that run it are annoying. Asked for an early check-in and was told this was available. We made arrangements for this to happen. Once we arrived, it was not possible as they were not ready. Ok, understandable. But we couldn't leave our bags with them while we waited. Blew a whole afternoon walking around Sayulita with our luggage.
They have a shared rooftop for everyone that stays at the hotel which is a nice feature. Management of this space is hostile. they keep it clean, but at some point in the night, some guy starts telling people the space is shut down and to leave immediately. No ID, no uniform. Just some guy acting threatening. This is a management thing. A bit thugish.

it’s a great hotel in a great spot!
Through no fault of the property there was dance music playing late into the night

the bed sheets were soaking wet staff refused to change them

Azul welcomed us upon arrival and instantly made us feel like welcoming family home. What a lovely lady.
Our room was wonderful. Right on the beach in the heart of town.
Made good use of the fabulous rooftop deck.

The location is exceptional. You can’t get any closer to the beach, it is literally steps away. Beautiful view from our room. The hotel is right on the beach. You are in the heart of Zona Romantica. Don Pedro’s is right across the street. 1-2 min walk to the town square. You have to visit Mary’s for the specialty tacos. My favourite was the Sayulita taco. The kids really likes Cocobanana. They had the best chocolate milkshakes. The staff at the hotel are top notch. They are very lovely and will go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They serve coffee in the morning and there is an amazing patio up top with breath taking views to enjoy it on.
The only complaint we have at all was the noise level at night. There is a very popular bar below the hotel called Lucid which has loud music and bands that play till quite late and people extend out into the street dancing and socializing. Our first night we didn’t get a ton of sleep. It was loud with people partying until almost 5am, then the area was bustling again by about 8:45am that same morning because of the World Cup. The other nights it was around midnight. Having said this, we still enjoyed this hotel for all the other reasons including amazing staff, clean facilities and great location. It was so easy to zip back to our hotel to go to the bathroom or quickly grab something. Maybe just bring some earplugs :)

Nothing was nice I made a reservation for 3 nights, but I left to the next day, I request a room with sea view, but they gave me an small room without windows, the small room was about 3x4 mts. Included and small bathroom inside, I do believe has been the worst experience in my life, by the way they denied to make a devolution of my money, no money back.
As I told you the room that they gave me, did not meet my requested specifications that I made in internet, by using filters.

Great location surrounded by things to do and could not be closer to the beach. Also sizeable room. Glad they offered free coffee and tea in AM.
They did not tell us or have a sign saying dont lock door knob so we got locked out and took them hours to get us back in and there was a rain storm.

Azul was extremely friendly and helpful. A perfect hostess! :)

Great location for the beach. The town is busy and noisy in general so you have to take that on board.
Sayulita beach water quality is awful. Ypu are basically swimming in untreated sewage.
3.9
Its a perfectly located small hotel, with basic amenities but all you need if you are not a super demanding traveller. Comfortable rooms with clean bathroom, cleaning every day, friendly and helpful staff, terrace with a lovely view and good morning coffee.
You can hear concerts in a bar downstairs, but they finish at 10 pm so not really problematic
