It was cloudy, foggy, rainy most of our week in Maine, but our condo made all the difference, being a cozy, comfortable place to hang out when the weather wasn't cooperative. Great view of the ocean front and seawall. Condo was nicely appointed with all the conveniences. Only thing lacking was a pizza cutter. Would go back in a heatbeat.

Lovely place on the Quiet Side
You can't beat the view: the Atlantic Ocean right out the window, along with ponds for viewing the Great Blue Heron. Very clean, well-equipped, and comfortable unit and a great place to relax after walks in Acadia.

Perfect in many ways
Perfect, brand new condo, perfectly situated for exploring Acadia. Also perfect just to sit on balcony and watch the ocean and wildlife. We all had a fantastic vacation. Very well, and thoughtfully supplied, and very comfortable. Lovely staff to deal with. We were sad to leave!

Great place
We couldn’t have asked for better location, people, and place. Gorgeous just like the pics. Would be an amazing place for a large group like a family reunion or even just a couple. Hope to be back!

Stunning Panoramic View
We spent hours on the deck, watching the birds, waves and boats. One night there was a beaver nibbling on the cat tails, and a deer walking down the road. The iconic Seawall stone beach and the border to the National Park are one minute away. Inside the kitchen has every amenity. Management is very responsive - we ran out of gas for the grill, and a replacement was delivered the next morning. This place is a gem. Added bonus: Charlotte's Lobster Pound, ~ a mile away.

Sublime views and fresh decor
Excellent experience. Photos accurately represent the property. The views off the deck are amazing any time of day. Property seemed recently constructed, fresh paint, new appliances, nice furniture. Even though a road runs out front, it is not highly traveled and we heard barely and road noise despite sleeping with the windows open. We can't wait to come back!

best vacation ever
This property did not disappoint!! The views of the ocean when you first walk in are breathtaking. The condo was beautiful and tastefully decorated with all the linens, paper towels, and toilet paper provided!! There was also a welcome bag from the owners for a personal touch. We felt so welcomed!! We have never been to Bar Harbor before and the location was the best because it was on the quietside, so away from the noise of crowded Bar Harbor but close enough to Bar Harbor -30 minutes-that we could get to do other things and not travel too far. We spent mornings drinking coffee on the deck and nights sipping wine. We got up early one morning to see the sunrise by just walking right across the street -it was perfect. I highly recommend Sea Star and we hope to come back again in the next year or 2. Thank you so very much!!!

Shining Sea Star
Sitting on the deck you can see the ocean on your left, and spend hours watching the boats sail by, the lobstermen tending to their traps, and the waves crashing on the rocky shore. On your right is Seawall Pond, with ducks, beaver, seagulls, frogs, and the occasional deer. The stars on a clear night are amazing (bring a blanket to wrap up in for cool nights).
The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials, though we mostly used it for reheating leftovers from all the great restaurants in the area.
The Sea Star is one of 3 rental properties, and is the one with the most stairs - hence the great view. It’s accessed by driving into the parking lot for the Seawall Motel, which is right behind you and clearly visible from the bedroom windows. We didn’t mind that, and actually had an emergency shipment delivered to the office - the staff are extremely helpful, in typical Maine fashion.

Every morning we woke up to a breathtaking view--the fog, the boats and the ocean.
My husband and I are seasoned travelers to Mt. Desert Island. I have been coming with my parents since the 1970's and my husband and I started vacationing together on the island in the late 1980's. We loved the quietness of this spot. The view from the balcony was spectacular. The rock beach area, with its creatures, was entertainment for our 10 year old. We loved being able to cook our breakfast and then take a vigorous walk in the morning. And cooking our dinners at night was relaxing after an active day. We felt we ate healthier than going to a restaurant for all our meals. We could get good food to grill from the local grocery stores and fish or lobster from Beal's Lobster Pier in SW Harbor.
When we have stayed in Bar Harbor we do less driving than staying at this location. So, staying here we drove more to take ferries or boating excursions from Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor. But, that was not bothersome to us. For our time at the Condo was so relaxing.
The condo view was joyful. We saw many birds on the pond off of our balcony. We even saw otters swimming in the pond.
The condo was exceedingly clean and very well decorated. We found it to be stocked with everything we needed. I had brought my own spices and herbs to cook our dinners with and that was a sound idea. All the cooking pan and dish types were available in the up-to-date and higher end kitchen.
We had 4 adults and a 10 year old stay in the Condo and we never felt cramped or crowed.
The owners we very gracious and exceedingly positive hosts. They were a joy to talk to and went out of their way to please us and add a peacefulness to our stay.
We definitely plan to go back. It is a true gem on the island.

Great staff and view. We love the frogs tuning their banjos in the evenings.
We loved Mary and the rest of staff. They were very helpful and friendly.
The apartment was very nice. Clean and new. We loved the quietness of the location.
The view of the ocean and pond off the deck is outstanding.
We already are making plans for next year.

Great location, accommodations, and hosts!
My husband and I stayed with our 9 year old daughter for a week in August and hated to leave. The apartment is on the quiet side of the island, a big plus, but still with the beautiful ocean view and not far from restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor, tourist attractions, and hiking trails within the park. The apartment was clean, very comfortable, and well appointed. It included all the basic cooking and grilling utensils, including things like foil and baggies that truly enabled us to make tasty meals. The views of the pond and sea, with the sound of the surf made the deck our favorite place to start the day with a cup of coffee and end it with a glass of wine. Despite the nearness of the road, the site was peaceful and quiet, particularly in the mornings and evenings. We explored much of the island from this home base, including the more popular locations on Acadia's park loop road and a trip to the much more touristy Bar Harbor, but the majority of our activities were oriented on the quiet side, almost all less than 30 minutes drive. Echo lake is not far for swimming; there were some great little trails within 10 minutes of the apartment; an absolutely beautiful sailboat trip with Sail Acadia out of Southwest Harbor (that convinced my daughter she wanted to change her room decor at home to a sailing theme); a kayak tour off Hadley Point from Maine State Sea kayak where we sighted bald eagles, and a very informative and fun trip to the Oceanarium and lobster hatchery! But before or after all the day trips to see the sights, it was wonderful to come back and explore the tide pools just across the road with no travel required. Our hosts were very welcoming and informative, and responsive to all requests. We look forward to going back!

What a view!
We loved this VRBO rental! We spent lots of time enjoying the breathtaking view from the deck. The spotless condo was brand new and in great shape with an attractive and efficient design. All of the household items were of the quality we would have in our own home. The location (two miles from the shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor) worked out well for us. We'll be back!

Incredibly Beautiful View, Great Location on "Quiet Side"
On arrival we were blown away by the amazing view - ocean to the south, marsh to the east. The other side of the marsh you're looking over is Acadia National Park, with trails like Ship Harbor and Wonder Land just a few minutes down the road. The entrance to the park's Seawall campground is a great place to pick up your park pass with no lines, and we could just barely smell the wood from their oceanfront camp fires in the distance. The temperature here along the water is noticeably cooler than even a few minutes inland. The air smelled so good - a combination of pine and ocean. We loved watching the family ducks in the water from our balcony in their synchronized swimming patterns, and were treated one a morning to a visit by a pair beavers who live in the beaver dam on the other side of the march. We had a few foggy mornings, but it was all part of the Maine experience.

Fantastic view, clean, with all the amenities for a great vacation.
Had a great week with our 3 adult children. The unit Is new and worked well for our family. Loved the location being right by the water but not in an area over run by tourists.
