Great location wonderful people all around us and we've met new friends, our caretaker Shane and his family. Would come back to this location again

I stayed for an extended visit so I could immerse myself in the Irish culture. Shane, the host, was outstanding. He is a great communicator, checked in every week or two, and made suggestions for things to do when he ran across a n activity he thought I’d enjoy. The location is amazing and walking distance from anything you’d need. It can be noisy as the street becomes a pedestrian street at night, there are restaurant and pub deliveries in the morning, etc. if I’d wanted serene I’d have gone to the country. Can’t recommend highly enough.

It is perfectly located in Galway to everything you need. Shane and Maria were amazing hosts that made me feel so welcome in a new city!

Fantastic location, great apartment
This is the 2nd time we stayed in Shane's apartment, and we will hopefully stay again when and if we are back in Galway. Location is perfect - just across the road from the best music pub in Galwy (The Crane Bar) and above one of the best restaurants in the city (the Mona Lisa). It's in the West End, which is still very close to the centre, but a bit less hectic. And the apartment itself is very quite, being in the back of the building. Very fast internet (I measured 75 MB/s download). There is no on-site parking, but Shane provides visitor parking permits that allow street parking close by. Thank you Shane (again) for a great stay.

Mixed experience in Galway
Shane kindly arranged for us to be picked up at the train station when we arrived. The apartment was conveniently located for all major attractions in Galway, within easy walking distance for groceries and transport. The kitchen was well equipped for those who like to cook their own meals. The apartment was a little shabby and could have been cleaner. The main drawback was the noise from the surrounding bars which did not stop until 2 am and made sleeping a challenge; this would likely be less of an issue in the winter months.

Very nice apartment in excellent location
The apartment had everything we needed and everything was clean and in good condition. WiFi worked great. Large flat screen with many channels. Kitchen amenities were also very good.
Location was perfect for us - with many top-rated restaurants and pubs within a few blocks.
We loved our Galway vacation.

Perfect Location, Comfortable Apartment
This charming and comfortable second floor apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Galway City, allowing visits to all sights on foot. The apartment is bigger than it looked online, with a separate bedroom, large bath and entryway, well-equipped kitchen, and nice views of the winding street out the window of the sitting area. Owner was very helpful, and the apartment had everything we needed, including a washing machine for clothes, and a comfortable bed. We can't imagine a better location for enjoying Galway City, and we hope to return!

We were in a park!
We had two fantastic weeks in Shane's apartment. It is spacious and has a well equipped kitchen, where we prepared fish, lamb, beef, mussels.
What we really enjoyed was the sheltered balcony and the feeling of sitting in a small private park.
If "position, position, position" is the thing, this apartment has it. Galway is a compact city with everything within walking distance, and you are minutes from the bustling pedestrian area with Ireland's best buskers.
Thanks Shane, we'll be back.

Very nice place to stay. The apartment has everything you want or need.
The apartment is centrally located partway between the beach and the central part of the city. It is extremely easy to access all of the sights and activities Galway has to offer from here.
The apartment gives you all of the access with none of the noise. It really is a bit of an oasis of tranquility.
Shane was an excellent host - very responsive and easy to reach whenever we had questions.
Should we ever return to Galway, this will be my first choice of places to stay.

Nice Galway apartment in the heart of everything!
There was an initial issue with some of the information in the listing, but it seems it was inadvertent. Shane took care of it right away and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. You can't get any close to the Latin Quarter area.

Great property for 2 people. Central location within walking distance of everything in Galway!
My husband and I spent nearly a month at this property in October. We were immediately impressed when the owner's father picked us up from the Galway train station when we arrived. The apartment is located in Galway's West End and everything we needed was easily walkable. WIthin 50 meters of the home there are great pubs, restaurants, and a supermarket. It is a 3 kilometer walk along the prom to our favorite swimming hole/diving platform at Blackrock in Salthill. Everyone in the immediate area was kind, with the exception of the barkeeps at the Crane who were a bit crusty and obviously had had a gut full of tourists/Americans. The only recommendation I would have is to add an additional mirror somewhere in the unit. Tonight in London, is the first time I've seen myself from the neck down in 25 days. On the other hand, I've been told by 5 people, including 2 strangers, how fresh and alive I look. I give all the credit to my time in Galway! Can't wait to do it all again next year! :)

This was exactly what we had expected, given the very positives of the property, and of Shane, that we had read. The location is in the heart of the west end, just above a very good Italian restaurant (Mona Lisa), and across the road from one of the best Irish music pubs in Galway (the Crane Bar). The apartment itself, being at the back of the building, was very quiet, looking out over the back-yard wildernesses of the area. It's on the first floor, with an easy flight of stairs. It's very well equipped, with a great shower (not always a given in Irish properties). Parking in the immediate vicinity is not free (limited to 2 hours, at 2 euro per hour) during daytime, but free from 6.30 pm to 8.30 am. However, there is plenty of free street parking with 5 minutes walk. (We parked opposite Ward's Hotel in Lower Salthill Road most days, without a problem). Shane was a fantastic host, and responded to all emails, SMS, etc prior to our arrival, and was on hand to greet us, and at the end of our stay. I have given it 4/5 because for us, the only drawback was the bed, which is a double bed, and a bit too firm, whereas we are used to larger more forgiving beds. (In spite of this, we would return to this property if the opportunity arises in the future). Thank you Shane

Awesome spot!
The entire experience was very well received. Shane was extremely easy to work with and helpful throughout the whole process. I traveled with my wife to Galway. He met us at the train station and showed us the apartment. He was so kind to recommend some local restaurants, pubs, and things to do as well. Every thing that we checked out that he had suggested, lived up to the billing. Would definitely recommend this place and hope to return in the future.

A fine location in a great city
Shane's apartment is well located in Galway's West End and facing to the rear, we did not have any late night, or early morning, noise to disturb our sleep! Galway was everything we thought it would be - great food, music and easy access to fantastic countryside. Shane was a hospitable host. Thoroughly recommended.

Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Komfortabel.
WiFi perfekt. Jederzeit wieder!

A Wonderful Experience
We lucked out with Shane's apartment in Galway. My friend and I stayed there during the races this year.
The apartment itself is lovely and pretty much looks exactly like the pictures given. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is big and it has a good working stove and refrigerator, and the bathroom is spacious and clean. We felt right at home when we entered, particularily because Shane was so welcoming.
The neighbourhood is great as well; it is within walking distance to city centre but far away from the noise and bustle of the races.
If I ever make it back to Galway, I'll be sure to book this place again.
