The interior of the home is warm with the fine furnishings, wood and stone touches, and provides a very comfortable setting while you stay indoors. A great lakefront getaway!!

Along with the beautiful charm of this older home, the convenience of Paradise Cove Marina being within walking distance, made our stay perfect.

Very refreshing to stay here! Loved the pool and the backyard, although no swing was a let down. The listing does state that some things may be changed from the photos and several things we different, like the cute decor outside was not there so that was a little disappointing.
Love the views from the upstairs bedrooms. The stairs to the upstairs are STEEP and further apart than normal stairs so it was a challenge for some in our group to get up and down.
The gate the exit the property did not work. The sprinklers are the front of the property ran the entire duration of our stay which was hitting the exit keypad, so not sure if that interfered, but one in party had to jump the fence to open the gate- memories!
Despite how busy the beach got behind the house, you couldn't hear anything inside the house which was nice. The back patio/enclosed area was delightful!
The houses (main and cabin) had everything you could need. There were a few dead bugs so picking up dead roaches upon arrival is not the most welcoming site, but overall would stay here again.

After our annual family trip to Galveston was canceled due to Hurricane Beryl, we decided we needed to find a place where all 13 of us could gather to have a little fun in the sun, and a little relaxation. We searched VRBO for a place with a pool and found this gem! The title says it all: LOCATION! Our stay was from Sunday - Thursday, and we pretty much had the entire area to ourselves! It was very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage, which was built in the 1940s, was updated, but still maintained all its charm. We had everything we needed (HEB delivered groceries) and we pretty much just stayed in the pool and spa the entire time! We didn’t have any major issues, but any time we reached out to Meika, she responded quickly and was extremely helpful. Thank you, JW Properties and The Cottage at Paradise Cove, for a wonderful experience.

We really enjoyed our stay here- great location on the lake. Would definitely stay here again for future trips to Austin

This is a really peaceful, well-equipped and beautiful property. It was perfect for 4 couples and the sunsets are beyond amazing. We'll be back!

We were disappointed with the house from the drive in. We had to drive through run down trailer parks and rv housing in order to get into the neighborhood. I felt unsettled and on guard from the second we got close to the house.
Here are just a few issues we encountered:
- We were welcome by the pool hose soaking us as we walked toward the door. (The pool guy did arrive quickly after I called)
- A gecko was on the wall when we walked in.
- The loading area to the party boats is right in the backyard. Multiple party buses unloaded, men were peeing all over and its busy because the party buses/shuttles park right behind the house.
- When we tried to leave the gate to the driveway would not open or shut. The gate never got fixed and I was jumping over the fence to let the people in and out.
- The main gate to the road then broke and I started calling the numbers listed at 7:15 when we couldn’t get the car inside the main gate. I called multiple times but no one replied. I got a call back at 10:30pm with an apology that she had fallen asleep. This caused problem caused us to delay our night out, miss our reservation and was a huge disappointment for our night out for my sisters bachelorette.
- The owner did come to check on the gates the next day and was overly kind and accommodating but it had been rough.
The housing company agreed to a $200 refund which I have yet to see weeks later. I have called multiple times and left messages with no answers. I would NOT recommend!

Overall, our group enjoyed their stay. Meika was easy to reach and communicate with and we enjoyed experiencing Lake Travis!
Pros: The home is well kept up... very clean and overall a truly beautiful space. The outdoor space was the highlight! The hot tub was easy to heat. Electronics such as the TV worked / it was easy to use. The kitchen appliances were in good shape (although this home was not nearly as well stocked in terms of pantry items as other VRBO properties I have stayed in... I would suggest at least having olive oil and tin foil!). Clean and updated bathrooms. Great A/C system to keep us all cool.
Cons: We had problems with the gates on the property upon arrival and throughout our visit. We were told was attributed to the gate being solar powered. This wasn't that big of a deal except when returning late in the evening to a rural neighborhood with a large party happening down the road with some interesting folks wandering around nearby. Lake levels were low, although this didn't keep us from enjoying the water. This property is right next to a marina where we were able to rent a boat for water access despite public launches being closed. The bunk beds are very noisy... our friends managed, but it was difficult for people to sleep comfortably when each time someone rolled over and the bunk bed made a sound.
Overall we were happy with the space! Thank you!

I booked the place for a girls weekend and we had a great time. The property is huge and the pool/outdoor space are great for groups. The kitchen is on the smaller side for a larger group, but the outdoor grill area helps to make up for it, so we didn’t have any issues making it work. We loved the sunroom for coffee and dinners and the outdoor casita was great for the two pregnant ladies in our group who wanted to hit the hay a bit earlier. Meika was great to work with and super communicative about the property ahead of time. Great experience!

This home is cute, clean and has been very nicely updated. The property managers are exceptionally attentive and very accommodating. 5+ stars for JW Properties!!!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and pool are much smaller than the pictures depict, but are nice. The thing that was most disappointing were horribly uncomfortable beds. For the amount paid to stay here, one would expect a more comfortable and restful nights sleep.
The Casita is charming and cozy and the outdoor kitchen and seating were enjoyable. The Wi-Fi worked great and the boat rental on the shore in front of the house was a bonus.

This house and property were beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much. Lake Travis is so beautiful and this property is right there on the lake. The pool and hot tub were a plus. Would definitely rec’d this property. The bunk beds are for children/teenagers IMO, not adults

Very lovely house.
We are 82 & husband 87 not good for anyone disabled at all.
Bunk beds downstairs are unusable…. Very weak. We could not let anyone sleep on BBO upper bunks.

Very nice place. Nice location. A little tough to get to, but the peace and quiet and the views of the sunsets over lake Travis make it worth it. The pool was very refreshing on the warm Texas summer day. Mattresses in the main house need an upgrade. Kitchen well appointed. Master suite/casitas was great. Definitely recommended for a big family.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home that was impeccably decorated with plenty of room for parents and two teens to spread out and enjoy. Loved the sunroom with dining table and seating. Our kids enjoyed the guesthouse by the pool and the outdoor kitchen and fire pit were fantastic living spaces we used often for grilling and s’mores. So enjoyed the pool and hot tub too! A really comfortable home to stay in with beautiful stonework, hardwood and tile features and very updated throughout. We loved the Austin Segway night tour,, the bats night flight from Congressional Bridge, climbing Mt Bonnell with amazing views, and taking a tour of Univ of Texas in Austin. Terry Black’s bbq restaurant a must. There is a giant HEB grocery store 5 mi from the house that has everything you need. Plan on a couple of days just enjoying the house and pool too!

Overall a good experience. The neighborhood is a little dicey, no easy place to workout. Close to marina. No restaurants nearby. Charming setting and cabin with casita. Spotted a snake in the garden on the first morning and decided to stay on the stone the rest of the stay. Lots of yard work next door on both sides.

Perfect spot for family and friends! Cottage vibe that was immaculate. Pool and access to marina made this a great location with lots to do.

The photos are deceiving. The pool water was green, the blinds in one of the bedrooms had several tears in them, the hot tub did not work, the internet did not work, TVs in some rooms worked some of the time and not others, the kitchen is way smaller than pictured, the living room sofa is very old and you sink into it, hard to get out. When we called to try to get these issues resolved, it took a long time and not everything was resolved. the property management people were rude and condescending. A very nice pool guy finally came over and got the spa working. it looks like you cam BBQ outside by the pool and run the TV or stereo, but it is an illusion, you cannot and management is rude to you when you state you are disappointed that you cannot use all of the amenities advertised.

Overall our stay was really relaxing. The location is nice and there are several places to hang out both inside and outside. There is no cable tv but that made it better for us to play games and do outdoor activities. The pool and spa are very clean. I would highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful Family Getaway
We just arrived home from our week at "The Cottage." It was a wonderful property and met all of our needs for a much needed family getaway. There was plenty of room to spread out and the outdoor space was well used by all! However, the best part of renting the cottage was the amazing customer service provided by Bryan, the property manager. He went above and beyond to communicate with us and to make sure that every detail was taken care of. Any (small) issues we had were promptly handled and made our stay so easy and delightful. We would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Austin!
