We traveled with our little dog and this property accepts pets and that worked out well. Having a full kitchen helped save on going out to eat.

Significant cleanliness issues and musty odor
Booked a 4 night stay here, and had such a poor experience that I left after 15 hours due to being physically ill. I will note that the tub, toilet and sink in the bathroom were very clean and there were fresh sheets on the bed. However, significant cleanliness and general maintenance issues included a dirty microwave with the previous occupant's dirty paper towel and food bits still present. Eye level top of fridge was filthy. The kitchen faucet leaked. A kitchen cupboard door remained permanently open. The kitchen table had coffee cup rings on it from the previous occupant. The ceiling fan in the living room was dusty and had cobwebs hanging from it. The bathroom had numerous cobwebs with dead bugs hanging in them. Baseboards and window sills were very dusty and dirty. The mini blinds were dirty, stained and wouldn't close properly; one had tape on it to hold it together. There was significant dust throughout. A wall light in the bedroom flickered on and off when the light bulb was screwed in. The worst was the musty odor that gave me a severe headache, runny nose and a bad sore throat after being inside for 30 minutes (abated once outside in fresh air). I was physically ill from the odor to the extent that I hardly slept and I packed my car at 5 am and began the 15 hour drive back to North Carolina after less than 24 hours in Vermont. (I could not find another place to stay, due to fall foliage season.) It was a major disappointment to have a much anticipated vacation end this way and to not get to experience all I planned to do. This rental has much potential (nice location, cute chickens and turkeys roaming the grounds, owner had placed fresh eggs and English muffins in the fridge and had plenty of coffee and snacks available) but it needs a MAJOR cleaning.

This is a super cute cottage. Well stocked. Loved be greeted by the turkeys and chickens. There was a car revving it’s engine every morning. But, overall fairly quiet. Convenient for Bennington College parent weekend. The owner was very responsive. The only downside was lack of cleanliness.

Disrepair
The property is badly in need of repairs. Leaky faucets, screen doors with no screens and general neglect. The chickens were a known quantity but the level of invasiveness made the outdoors nearly off limits. I would be very reluctant to recommend this place to anyone I cared about.

Hiking in the Green Mountains
We stayed at the Cloud Compound for 3 nights. What a perfectly sized little space for two hikers. The accommodations were very comfortable and perfect to come back to after a long day of hiking/ice fishing/ winter activities.
And there were fresh eggs in the fridge! Thank you!

We were greeting by chickens and a turkey
We enjoyed our overnight stay in North Bennington. The owner, Amy, was in touch with us prior to our arrival and even suggested a few places to eat. The home was quaint and just perfect for us. Enjoyed the visitors - chickens and turkeys. Even said "hi" to the dwarf rabbits. Great to have this as a home base for us to explore the Bennington area.
