About this cottage rental
This is a two bedroom seaside cottage in the village of Corea it has one half bath and one full bath, it is rustic but has all the modern amenities. We are located in a remote setting where you can rest, relax and rejuvenate. A great place to escape from reality watch the lobster boats hauling their traps, take a walk on the beach searching for shells and sea glass, or get to read that book you have been wanting to read. The evening sky at our location is great for star gazing or build a fire on the rocks and toast some marshmallows. A true Coastal Maine experience!! We are conveniently located just 9 miles from Winter Harbor where you will find the entrance to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park or hop aboard the ferry that goes to and from Bar Harbor and avoid the crazy summer traffic.

This cottage tells a story about the original artistic family, while providing a comfortable, cozy place for visitors. The kitchen is well set up and the host provided us with basics to get started. At the center of the house is a beautiful fireplace that we used a couple of nights for warmth. The beds upstairs are comfortable. You have islands nearby, birds to watch and boats going by with several places to sit or have a fire at night. The host was quick to answer our questions or concerns. As others have said, it was hard to leave at the end of our week.

We had a great stay at Easterly I! The place was cute and clean and we loved being on the water. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of fog while we were there so I didn’t get to enjoy sitting by the water as much as I would have liked but we still enjoyed it. The house had everything we needed especially the kitchen. She has a an entire shelving unit that has everything you need to cook your own lobsters. I highly recommend taking the “Catch your dinner” lobster boat tour. It was a lot of fun and we cooked the lobsters ourselves. It’s very peaceful and quiet on the property and around Corea. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you! There are a few restaurants nearby which was nice when we didn’t feel like cooking. You definitely can’t go wrong booking this property!

My wife & I visited the Bar Harbor/Acadia area for 4 days. We feel so fortunate that we found this cottage in Corea right on the water. The village is definitely a hidden gem of this region. The accommodations were clean & so unique with the interior artifacts. We highly recommend this cottage & the Corea community & hope to return some day.

We had an incredible trip to Maine, and particularly enjoyed our stay at Easterly I. The cottage is perfectly located, providing a lot of privacy while still being a short drive to restaurants/supplies. The most enjoyable aspect of the trip was our quiet time around the cottage—exploring the shore and sitting around a cozy fire each night. Our toddler thought it was a pretty magical place and mom/dad agree. :)
Can’t wait to come back!

If you are looking for the perfect beach house to rent in Maine look no further. This place was exactly the paradise we wanted. The views are spectacular, the location close to Acadia National park, the opportunities to explore endless. The home was clean, comfortable, and well supplied. Our host left lots of helpful information about the house, and the area for us. If we ever have the opportunity to return this property will be the first we look for.

Beautiful vintage cottage with amazing views! We chose this location for our Honeymoon and couldn’t have found a more perfect spot. Absolutely loved our time here and hope to come back many times

This was our second stay at Easterly I and it was so lovely to return to such a unique and beautiful place. The views from this spot are truly breathtaking. The weather was mostly foggy, but it did not hamper our stay at all. We still got to enjoy lots of fun walking out on the rocks and beach, and even took a swim! Managed to venture over to one of the islands at low tide too, which was fun. We took a Lobster tour with the owner’s company, ‘Catch Your Dinner’ tours, which was a highlight, and great to see Easterly I from the water. The house is well maintained and clean, and beautifully decorated. The worst thing about this place is the pain you feel when it’s time to leave!! Lucky to have found this place and hope we can return again next year. Thank you Melissa and Dan!

This home exceeded our expectations, and they were already high. The location is amazing...the water views and waterfront were spectacular. The owners have put a lot of thought into what visitors need for their stay, and there really wasn't anything we needed that we could not find. Providing firewood, paper, and kindling was an added bonus. The furniture was comfortable. The area is quiet, but close enough to Acadia for a day trip. There are some nice local places to eat. We have not one complaint!

This was one of our most favorite VRBO’s. The home was spotless and very comfortable. The beds were amazing! We loved looking at the antiques, old photos, and paintings. So much cool history of the home and Corea. It was cold and rainy most of our stay so we didn’t enjoy the amazing oceanfront as much as we would have liked but we did walk the sandbar at low tide to the little island across the way. We watched a local lobster boat checking his traps right in front of the house and were amazed by how much the landscape changed each day with the tides. Our family took day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia, Lubec, Schoodic Peninnsula, Winter Harbor, and watched how they cast bells at U.S. Bells nearby. A highlight of our stay was the Catch Your Dinner Lobster Tours out of Corea Harbor, run by the owners of Easterly I. We highly recommend the tour so make sure to book early and let them know you’re at their rental. We saw puffins, seals, and helped with the lobster traps. Thank you to the Rodgers Family for sharing your family’s beautiful vacation rental! We will definitely be back some day…and maybe getting a little sunshine next time!

Word of the week: Magic!
Our stay at Easterly I was perfect in every way. On our late arrival on a clear night, it felt like we could see every star in the universe. The next morning, we were in awe of the spectacular location and views from the cottage. Way beyond our expectations. Thankfully we have been to Acadia and Bar Harbor before, because we barely left the cottage we were so in love with it. We brought everything we might need with us, but we needn’t have bothered as the house/kitchen is incredibly well appointed — not to mention absolutely charming! We were looking up dates to book for next year before we even left. Communication with the host Melissa was a friendly breeze. Hoping we can come back to stay again and again. Ps. If you are into Oysters, you must visit “Lunch on the Wharf” just up the road. Best looking and tasting Oysters we’ve ever had!

Magical Coastal Cottage
Loved every detail of this beautiful cottage. This was a wonderful place to stay on the coast away from the tourist crowds in Bar Harbor. It is an hour drive so you can still go over for a day trip, but the best part about this cottage is just sitting on the ocean and listening to the calm of Maine when the weather is nice or sitting inside in front of the AMAZING fireplace when its rainy and cold. The little towns of Winter Harbor and Birch Harbor are just around the bend for great cafes, groceries, antiques, and souvenirs.

Maine Tranquility with an amazing view
Easterly I is a special place when visiting in Maine. For our family, it ended up being nearly perfect follow-up spot from spending a week on Mt. Desert Island. Two adults and 2 kids (8/6) plus dog. I would not recommend as a base for exploring Acadia as it is 80 minutes away.
The house is rustic (exposed wood), but decorations really give the house a warm and welcoming feel. If you have younger children (5 and under), be aware you will feel a bit overwhelmed by the risk of breaking something, so it wouldn't be my recommendation to stay here with young ones. With four of us, I never felt confined due to the open nature of the house.
The good and greats:
The Picnic Table and Chairs on the rocks - I found myself wanting to start and end my day by having breakfast or making a fire while staring at the ocean and islands.
The Rocks - for kids, it was fantastic to run, jump and explore the shore line from big to small rocks.
Walking island - visiting the neighboring island at low tide was a special treat. Avoid taking dogs over there as the barnacles will hurt their paws.
Searching for sea glass and "lucky Maine rocks" filled hours of time.
Fires (both inside and out) - the choice for the owners to supply firewood was AMAZING. It really improved our visit not having to get wood for fires on colder nights or for the ocean fires.
Internet speed was great. I had no problem working or taking calls from the house. Cell service was better here than in Acadia.
Food: The local IGA has what you expect from a small town, but you can drive 30-35 minutes to a Walmart or Hannaford grocery store closer to Acadia which you might want to do upon visiting.
Restaurants: Do visit 'Lunch at the Wharf' if open. We really liked and also enjoyed being able to bike ride to the Corea area.
Kitchen was well stocked.
The improvements:
The box springs absolutely need replacing due to the noise made when barely moving. As much as we loved Easterly 1 this could be a challenge to consider returning.
The Beds are very soft, so if you like firm beds this may not be the house for you. The daybed was firmer.
Storage space - the kitchen or area could lose some of the decorations and thus allow more space to store food/supplies for cooking.
Note: We were there the road to Winter Harbor was washed out so visiting Schoodic Pt and those areas was much more involved. When working, getting to other restaurants and attractions is easy.

Rustic cabin on the calm, peaceful part of the Maine Coast
This s a fantastic place to spend a few days if you know what you're looking for. Right on the water with no boat or automobile traffic to be seen or heard. A great place to paint or build a fire outside on the rocks at night 20ft. from the water. We saw seals swim by each night at dusk. Just know what it is (and is not) before you book. If you are looking for Bar Harbor, this isn't it. Options for food, gas, and shopping are not right around the corner. The cabin is very rustic (which we loved), but you need to expect the things that go along with that. There are no locks on some of the doors, the upstairs flooring squeaks loud enough to wake up everyone in the cabin if you get up in the night, and things along these lines. All part of the charm of the cabin. and what you should expect from a structure that old. Very clean and well kept and Melissa was very responsive via text. My only suggestion would be to keep a small axe in the garage so the firewood can be broken down into kindling. It's impossible to start a fire on the windy coast without kindling and going through the wood to try and pry off small pieces was very time consuming. We would definitely stay there again.

Quiet and private, stunning views!
We had a lovely time. We spent many hours at the beach, having it mostly to ourselves. We never tired of waking up to ocean sounds and views. The cabin was cozy and cute. Overall we would love to stay again!

Perfect Getaway
Our stay in Corea was perfect. The house was in an incredible setting with privacy and access to the ocean out our back door. The house had everything you could need with beautiful central fireplace for fires every night. The biking up in this area is truly incredible as we were out every day with a couple of day trips to Acadia as well. We have vacationed in the Schoodic area a number of times in the past and are always drawn back. It is a great place to get away and this property was perfect.

Nothing short of spectacular!
This home really is nothing short of spectacular! Right on the ocean with unbeatable views. The rock fire pit was wonderful! We enjoyed spending time on the rocks in the morning looking for sea glass and shells and in the evening for a fire every night.
We even got to enjoy the beautiful fireplace inside.
My husband and I were looking for a place outside the touristy areas but close enough to Acadia. We went with another couple and they were so impressed by the location and property. The space was perfect for the four of us, with two bedrooms and a 1/2 bath in the loft area. Loved the antique decor!
I woke up to see the sunrise almost every morning of our stay... between the sunrise and lobster boats it was always a "new" view and so gorgeous. Such a peaceful, relaxing location.
We ventured to Bar Harbor one day, not bad drive and well worth it. There is a ferry, but we opted to take the Wrangler so we could take in the park views while driving through.
Highly recommend the co-op for lobsters. The Lobstore was another great spot for fresh seafood. The house was well supplied with everything you need to make and enjoy a lobster & seafood dinner. In fact, they had the cutest lobster plates and cups to go along! We really appreciated the local bottle of wine left for us, thank you!
Maine is my happy place, but this property is my new favorite. We can't wait to return! 100% recommend booking the Easterly I for a slice of Maine all to yourselves!

Heaven
This property was just we were looking for our vacation to Maine.
The view was breathtaking! Easterly II was a comfortable but rustic home! Perfectly decorated with everything needed to cook and make our stay memorable. The town of Corea is a cute rural town with down to earth folks. The wharf restaurant is one not to miss during a stay. We will return to this lovely place. Thank you to the Rodgers for sharing this home with us.

Beautiful Oceanfront Cottage
Our family wished we had book a longer stay here. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and beauty of this place. The fireplace was also enjoyed frequently by our family. Acadia was beautiful and within driving distance. We plan to come back in the future and stay for a longer period of time.

Maine Gem
My whole family ranging from 12 to 72yrs of age loved this property. Sitting on the rocks with a cup of coffee and watching the lobsterman pull traps was an early morning ritual. Grandgirls went to the beach everyday and at low tide collected shells, rocks, sandollars and even found hermit crabs and moon snails. The cottage looks over the most breathtaking view of our Maine coast.
Met Melissa and found she is very personable and eager to meet every need.

Beautiful cottage by the sea
Lovely, cozy cottage just steps to the ocean. The house is beautifully decorated, with incredible views of the ocean and nearby islands from nearly every window. Very quiet and private. Well-situated for trips to Acadia National Park. Communication with the hosts was exceptional. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Easterly I was everything we hoped for!
This was our fourth trip to Corea, fifth trip to the Schoodic Peninsula, and the first time in EasterIy I. We met Dan, his father and son while on a walk on our last trip and they cemented what we had already learned about the area - it’s filled with friendly, salt of the earth people.
We found the home to be everything we hoped for....Steps from the beach. Quiet. Private. Relaxing. What’s not to love when you are looking at the ocean and bar islands from nearly every window. If that’s not enough, sit on the deck in the ocean breeze or walk the few steps needed to sit on the rocks and watch the tide roll by.
The house had everything we wanted - fully equipped kitchen, stove, gas grill, all the utensils you could need, linens... everything. The one question we had was answered promptly by Melissa.
We loved everything about our stay here. So much so we booked a week for next June already. If you want the beauty of the Maine coast without the tourist feel and crowds of MDI, then this is the spot for you.

Just Wonderful!
My husband and I have been doing a yearly trip to Maine for almost 30 years and we agreed that this was our favorite place to rent. We totally enjoyed our stay! The cottage is beautiful, clean and has all that you need for a comfortable stay. We have very busy lives so we just took advantage of the location and just relaxed! We did some sight seeing, lots of cooking in and eating out! We tried the Northeast Mexican place -- SO Good! Just sitting out on the deck or out on the rocks to watch and listen to the ocean -- a seal came by a couple of the mornings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place. We hope to come back!

Ultimate privacy and relaxation.
We couldn't have been more happy with our stay here. It had everything you could ever need and more. And the location and views are unbeatable.
And it is beyond private. Sitting on the rocks and having a fire we felt like the only people on the planet. We definitely did not want to leave. Can't wait to plan another trip there.

Authentic Maine coastal cottage in a beautiful location
We had a wonderful vacation at Easterly I cottage. Days were spent exploring the area, eating lots of seafood and just relaxing. Nights were spent by the fire pit within the rocks overlooking the bay.
I highly recommend bringing or renting kayaks so you can explore the little islands. If kayaks are not an option, no worries as there is a sandbar to one of the islands exposed during low tide everyday.
We really enjoyed our stay and we look forward to returning in a few years.

Very scenic !
The rustic home is beautifully decorated . So nice to have nice towels and soap. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and everything you would need to cook. Great to have a washer and dryer. The upstairs has a railing overlooking the great room. For safety reasons, we did not allow our granddaughters up here since they could fall through railing.
The scenery outside of the many windows is fantastic! Love seeing the islands and the lobsters boats going by and tending to their traps. The ocean water was too cold to swim in but we had walks along the rocky shore. There is a natural fire pit in the level shore rocks close to the home. The location is very quiet and restful.

Fantastic!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here and our stay was the best! The cottage is clean and beautifully decorated. The day after our arrival, it rained and we made a fire in the fireplace and spent the day relaxing while looking out at the beautiful views. We had sunny weather for the remainder of our time there. We really enjoyed exploring the dramatic coastline directly in front of the cottage and walked down to the beach each day. At high tide, we sat on the rocks at Schoodic Point (a must do)! The kitchen is set up with lobster pots and utensils and we took full advantage = boiled lobster for dinner, lobster omlets for breakfast, and grilled cheese & lobster Sammy's for lunch!! Also enjoyed a dinner at The Picked Wrinkle and Downeast Mexican Takeout (authentic homemade food, yum!). We thoroughly enjoyed the time here and hope to return again. Thank you Daniel and Melissa for sharing this slice of heaven! :-)

Cozy cottage by the Sea
Easterly I was the perfect destination for a much needed break from the fast pace of home/work. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, and enjoying the area. The eclectic decor and ocean views were perfect for rainy days and the rocky shoreline gave us the perfect place for soaking up the sunny days. The owners put a lot of detail into the decor and the result is a cozy cottage that we look forward to returning to.

Rustic and beautiful, just like a magazine!
Rustic and beautiful, just like a magazine!
My 2 sisters and I, with our children, went off together for a 3 nights stay. The cottage was rustic and beautufil, just like a magazine. It was very clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and smelled good. It was interesting to stay in a home that shared the artist things of Grattan Condon.
We spent our time going to the Bar Island at low tide, making sand cakes at the beach close to Meadows Inn, catching crabs, going for ice cream at the Wharf Gallery, watching the lobster boats, visiting the Bartlett Maine Estate Winery, playing cards one rainy evening and especially making a fire directly on the beach under the moonlight.
We had the privilege to meet Melissa. She was very nice and taught us how to cook the perfect lobster. We ate a great lobster meal (all necessary equipment for a lobster dinner is available).
If you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday, it is a great place to stay.
Good to know:
- It would be preferable that you stop at a supermarket in a town before arriving as grocery strores are very small near Corea.
- Bring shoes to go in the water, shovel and mosquito repellent.
- Corea residents are very friendly, be ready to wave your hand!

excellent secluded seaside cottage
The place is really nicely designed and an all around great Maine seaside experience. All exposed wood and stone. Feels rustic but still very comfortable. And the beds were comfy, which can be hard to find in rustic styled places. Though the cottage itself is not huge, (bedrooms are quite small), the living and dining area feels expansive with high ceiling in sections and plenty of room to settle in. The natural beauty of the location is hard to beat, with lots of wide flat rock area on which to hang out by the sea, literally steps from the cottage. You can stroll outside with your morning coffee and watch the ocean (we saw a seal swim by one morning), or hang out at night and have a fire at the fire pit. The way the house is situated, you cannot see the neighboring houses from the property or even from the seaside rocks in the immediate vicinity of the house until you walk out a bit, so it's very private, but with great ocean views in several directions due to being out on a corner of the peninsula. Back to the rustic part, it's definitely a seaside cottage with a few aging quirks, such as screen doors that may not seal perfectly, which let a few flies in, and some makeshift window screens. These add to the charm of the place for the most part, but I suppose someone looking for all out structural perfection could consider them a pan. The place does feel like a natural addition to the surrounding rocks and ocean. I would definitely come back to this place for a peaceful and secluded seaside retreat! Note - the rocks and ocean immediately in front of the cottage do not lend themselves well to actually entering the water, but a few hundred yards away is a rocky beach that could accommodate water entry for kayaks or even swimming (closed toe water shoes would be recommended and the water will be cold of course).

Photos and words don't do it justice!
Online pictures are great but don't come close to showing the true charm of the house or property - was everything we expected and more. Clean, airy, beautifully but comfortably decorated home with a walk out the door to the jetty and/or small beach. We didn't use it but the garden including parsley, basil, chives and more would have been put to use if our stay was longer. Perfect place to be "offline" and relaxing, though wifi is available and when needed, worked great. Highly recommend - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful property - LOVED it!!!
Our family stayed at the cottage in early July. The owners made everything so easy, and the cottage had everything we could have needed and LOTS of little extras that made it even better! We would stay here again without hesitation. The location to the ocean can't be beat. There are neighbors but you can't really tell that, most of the time we were the only ones walking the shore. Winter Harbor has some shops and a few places to eat, even a little golf course with great views. Correa doesn't have much, but you must stop at the Wharf for lunch, fantastic! Acadia is really close but honestly the views and things to explore at the cottage were better than the park and with way less crowds. The cottage itself has everything you could need for making meals to morning coffee and everything in between. LOVED this place, hope to come back someday!
