Great views! But too many negatives. Futon was literally falling apart. No toaster, 1 wine glass. Windows were open when we arrived. So many spiders! My sister was bitten on her cheek. Missing light bulbs, dirty kitchen curtains, decaying caulk in bathrooms. Front door unusable, and walking to back door on rough ground where suitcases don’t roll. Drip coffee maker was good. Lots of chairs, towels, paper products but no Kleenex. Check out instructions said to pack all sheets, towels and futon cover into washer but it wouldn’t fit or would result in not getting everything clean. House description should include ferry ride required if coming from south. That ferry took us about 2 hours during rush hour!

The property was dirty. There were ants, both alive and dead in the bathroom and by
the door in the living room. The master bath shower does not drain. The sliding door lock is not operating.
The view is awesome and that is the best thing about the house.

Clean, maybe a little dated, but overall nice. Great deck overlooking the bay. Well stocked for dishes, pans, cutlery, paper products. Washer and dryer with unscented laundry soap was a nice surprise, along with an airfryer. Appreciated those! Fireplace nice for cold rainy days was nice too. 2 full bathrooms was appreciated.

We didn't have much choice as our stay was last minute for a family event, but if there were other options I would take them instead. The place is clean enough and well located with a nice view (other than overlooking the abandoned and overgrown property next door) but it's a very worn-out mobile home with little space to hang out and not a single piece of comfortable furniture anywhere. Not a great value for your money.

We had a great time exploring the island. The house was nice and well stocked. The deck had a great view of the water and we saw seals out playing ever evening.

View from the deck was great, waterfront and Olympics in the background. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and newer, but the furniture was a little tired. Clean and well stocked with supplies. Our dog enjoyed the fully fenced in yard.

It didn't really look much like the pictures. An old Modular house...The showerhead in the hall bathroom was mostly clogged up and came out so hard it was painful... and the window wouldn't close. The bed made so much creaking noise. The window blinds were missing a lot of the slats. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.
The view from the deck was nice though

Graet view, Nice large deck

We were very comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay in this quiet and friendly little neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed having meals on the deck overlooking the harbor and being surrounded by beautiful trees. A classic taste of Island life!

This house definitely needs some love. Pictures had to be from a few years ago. Furniture is very run down. Property around the house needs to be cleaned up. A lot of overgrown flowers beds and randomly placed stepping stones you need to watch out for. Be prepared to buy plug-ins and candles, place is very odorous! Has a beautiful view!

It was comfortable with all amenities available.
The outside woodwork could us some work.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

While the neighborhood around the property is a bit run down, the home itself is clean and well maintained inside. The outside could use some attention. But the deck is spectacular. We spent quite a lot of time soaking up the spring sun and watching the play of light on the waters of Holmes Harbor. And one afternoon, we were lucky enough to observe members of the resident orca J Pod as they headed north. Another day, we caught a glimpse of a gray whale directly below the house, as it briefly surfaced and then disappeared. We also saw eagles, Harbor seals, and many other birds. Other than the racket of early morning birdsong, we found the neighborhood peaceful and quiet. We had a lovely stay and plan to come back again this summer. Don’t forget your binoculars!

Process was very smooth and the manager was very communicative

The neighborhood is a little shabby but there is a million dollar view! Great price. Everything we needed was here. The owner was very responsive. I would stay here again. We went kayaking in Langley. Loved it. Saw seals!

The exterior of the property left a lot to be desired. On approach, the blue sign with the house number was the only indication you’d arrived. Due to the overgrown nature of the plants and shrubs and the “parking strip” covered in weeds and randomly placed cement blocks, it took awhile before we knew where to park. It’s a double wide trailer with two side doors. Knowing which door to enter was also a mystery. The door which was closest to the parking space and seemed more like the “front door” had a sign on it to use the other door. The wooden staircases and decking were in poor condition and unsafe in spots. One step that was very loose had a kitchen plastic bag draped over it. Apparently, this was to indicate a problem; but the whole access to that door should have been physically blocked off (if the owner is choosing not to fix it)!! Completely unacceptable and a real hazard. The interior was fairly clean, bedrooms and bathrooms well stocked and comfortable, kitchen was minimally stocked. There were several fans but it was difficult to cool off the place when we arrived in 80 degree weather. It would’ve been nice to go out on the deck when the temperature dropped a little; but I discovered that no attempt to clean or tidy up that area had happened at all. I cleaned off the grilled food and charcoal ashes from the table. But while I was outside, it became apparent that I wouldn’t be able to relax there even after I cleaned up. As was mentioned in another recent review, the neighbor’s trailer and property is extremely dilapidated. The TV never was turned off and the sound constantly carried through a large open window which was near our deck. Also, there’s no umbrella with the table so there’s no shade. Since we could only appreciate the amazing view from inside the house and were not able to go outside and relax, I found another place and moved us halfway through the stay. The owner needs to take these negative reviews seriously, as there was very little about the place that felt like a vacation.

Disappointed and dumbfounded

Great view but location/neighborhood is really bad
We booked this at the last moment so there was very little choice for available properties. The listing pictures that are displayed are accurate and the view of the water is phenomenal. HOWEVER, there are no pictures of the neighborhood and the neighborhood is bad. Specifically, the house ( ie trailer home ) on the left-hand side of the rental is a horribly dilapidated structure with broken windows and a severely sagging moss-covered deck,. and a rusted-out white Subaru sitting adjacent to the property line. When we were out on our deck,, trying to enjoy the phenomenal view, there was a guy in that dilapidated trailer home staring at us through a broken window
The rental unit itself (which is a double-wide) is okay. It was clean on the inside but with a deodorizer smell. The front lawn and bushes are severely overgrown and it was difficult to find the rental unit when we first got there. I would not stay there again

met all our needs: a comfortable place to sleep close to a wedding on a busy summer weekend, clean, safe, kitchen in good working order, and (if we had needed it--though we did not bring our dog this time) dog friendly. Also reasonably priced.

Girls sewing getaway
Beautiful view, quiet very clean, neighborhood (looks a bit sketchy in a few areas, but honestly it is island life and we felt 100% safe). Kitchen was stocked with cooking tools wonderfully.
Not "fancy", but perfect for our girls sewing getaway, and again the view, beautiful!

The manager worked with us to extend our stay (while booking well in advance). When I asked about bicycling - he sent me detailed reviews and directions to some great off-road trails for the mountain bikes.
The house is located within easy riding distance from grocery stores and Resturants (some very good!).
The house was very well stocked with everything needed for our stay. We cooked most of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen and watched Netflix movies at night.
And every day we woke up to the beautiful unobstructed view of the water.
Everything worked,
We hope to come back.

The only complaint I would have is the swearing going on at the neighbors. Not great for little ears. But the place was nice and clean.
Thank you

The view was beautiful with great sunsets, check-in/out was simple, the location was good, and Ashley responded to most of the questions I had. Lot was overgrown and neighborhood was run down, but we had no problems and felt safe. We had to clean the countertops, built-in cutting board, and sweep the floors when we arrived since they were dirty. The shams were covered in pet hair (and there was a strong animal odor in the house), but the sheets were clean. Beds are very firm. Only one pillow per guest was provided. No shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, lotion, very little in the kitchen, etc. There was no grill which is mentioned on the listing. No phone or alarm clocks. Just know that it is bare-bones minimal, and pack accordingly or plan to shop when you arrive. As long as you go prepared, it is a decent value for the money. If nothing else in this price range was available on our next trip, I would stay here again.

Amazing View!
The deck and the view is amazing! I saw the nearby nesting Bald Eagles almost everyday. There are deer just wandering around and it’s such a peaceful sight. The kitchen is well stocked and having full size commercial washer and dryer is great, especially if you have a longer stay. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy but everyone is so nice and I NEVER felt uncomfortable! I would walk my dog at all hours of the day and always felt safe. If you want a wonderful view and a comfortable home I highly recommend!

Nice place to stay with a nice view
Great view of the water, pretty quick access to food options around Freeland.

Great view & cozy beach house
The property was clean & perfect for our getaway. Beautiful view of the bay from the deck. The only thing I'd change would be access to a grill & the master bed could be updated to either a king size or a more comfy queen. Overall though, I highly recommend.

Don't expect any conveniences!!!
I kinda already figured from pics, you can't get to water from property. The house set up was fine basically a cottage. The problem was very dirty. I had to clean the refrigerator upon arrival.. Coffee maker was dirty and about 20 years old. The tiny broom was so small and broken couldn't even clean up. There is no lounge chair on deck as shown in pic. NO outside grill...had to go buy a little one, which made grilling a pain. Simple inexpensive things could be provided to make a vacationer's stay more pleasant!!! Which to me is just rude. There wasn't even a can opener... We had to use a knife to open cans in order to cook a meal. Upon arrival I had to put the cushions on the outside chairs. I didn't come on vacation to set up someone else's furniture. No place to put trash had to just keep piling it up on side deck. So even though all this made my stay inconvenient....They wanted me to strip the beds and start laundry, which I did because I'm just that type of person. One more note the neighborhood is very run down.
