About this villa rental
illa Pelicano is one of the most popular villas in Manuel Antonio with over 9000 sq ft of living space on over 5 acres in the center of Manuel Antonio and walking distance to everything you need. This Estate consists of 6 bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths and offers complete discretion and privacy while being situated in the heart of Manuel Antonio with its countless fine restaurants, shopping plazas, night life, gym, and so much more while conveniently located within minutes’ drive between the bustling fishing village of Quepos as well as our very popular National Park and Main Beach area which is only 2 miles away. No need to rent cars since transportation is very easy as taxi’s are as abundant as New York City and our public bus system runs every 20 minutes and only cost 75 cents – you can catch it right in front of the Villa!
It is bordered by a lush rain forest – a symphony of wildlife. Monkeys run through the mango trees, and toucans sing from the nearby cecropias. Birdwatchers and animal lovers will be in heaven. Within the surrounding gardens are mango trees, banana plants, starfruit, papaya trees, citrus, orchids, and a whole plethora of other tropical flora.
This large 6 bedroom Villa is comprised of four bedrooms which are all masters, each with King Size bed, high ceilings, spacious areas, with glass sliders allowing you to feel the fresh breezes off of the ocean. All bedrooms are air conditioning to keep you cool, large verandas to take in the panoramic views and to see the monkeys and other various types of wildlife passing through the trees. The fifth bedroom features two queen beds and two single beds, air conditioning, private seating area, and veranda facing the jungle. The sixth bedroom has one king bed, air conditioning, and veranda facing the jungle.
The living room has a two-story cathedral ceiling and wraparound balcony which is completely open to a spacious patio overlooking the pool and Pacific Ocean. The second level of the home is wide open with an extra seating area, a balcony looking out over the ocean that is perfect for yoga, relaxing or just taking in the spectacular views.
Villa Pelicano Private Estate would not be a First Class Estate without providing your own Private Chef to prepare up to 2 meals per day (food and beverage cost are separate and the Chef provides the actual store receipts for reimbursement). Nobody needs to shop, cook or clean as the Chef does it all and saves you money as well by purchasing the freshest ingredients from local vendors – butchers and fisherman

Villa Pelicano is exactly as described in the listing…beautiful!!! From the beginning of our trip Geralyn was in constant contact with us and made the trip from the airport seamless. The drivers were awesome and very accommodating to our group. The villa itself was spectacular with gorgeous views and animals galore! It made a picturesque backdrop for our ceremony, which was 100% possible with Geralyn’s assistance. Angelica made sure we were comfortable, while she went above and beyond for her housekeeping duties. The groundskeepers were readily available and even pointed out some animal sitings for us (Sloths!!!). The highlight of the trip of course was Mario and Jose Mario cooking up unbelievable dishes for us every day. There was really no need to eat out. But when we did all of the recommended spots were amazing as well. 10 out of 10 recommend staying at Villa Pelicano!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is very well maintained, has an incredible view and great location. Geralyn, the Concierge, was so helpful and accommodating and scheduled the perfect excursions! Mario and Jose Mario are the best chefs. Their meals truly made the trip so special. Angelica was also fantastic! We could not recommend this place any more. Its so special!

We had 13 family members at Villa Pelicano to celebrate my 70th birthday . The service was incredible ! Geralyn was always available to help us book tours , arrange transportation and answer any questions . Mario prepared delicious meals for the adults and the children . I think we had the guacamole every night as an appetizer .
We ziplined, jet skied , had a private catamaran ,
massages at the house and the buggy waterfall tour . I had my massage outside and didn’t realize my table was beneath a security camera so my apologies to whoever had to see a 70 year body !
I can’t say enough about this incredible house but more importantly was the attention we received from Geralyn and Mario !! I hope to return in the future .

We had 6 couples; everyone had their private room and bathroom. The home is absolutely beautiful and clean. Our concierge Geralyn was awesome, she set up all of our tours for us and was super helpful. Chef Mario made our trip so special with all of his delicious meals!! My wife has Celiac and Mario went out of his way to make sure her meals were gluten free. Mario surprised me with a cake for my birthday. You will love this home and Chef Mario!!

We were a group of 10 (5 couples) staying at Villa Pelicano. We were all in awe when we first walked in to this amazing house. The views are nothing short of spectacular. We were visited daily by the Macaws and almost daily by monkeys. The hill in front of the house to the entrance gate is a bit challenging but manageable. I can't say enough good things about Chef Mario. He prepared the most delicious meals for us and it was obvious he loves what he does and cooks with a lot of passion. We all agreed Chef Mario was our favorite part of our stay. Geralyn was always able to assist with any of our questions, requests, and recommendations for the area. If I could make suggestions to the property owners, it would be to add air conditioning to the gathering area/kitchen and to install an ice maker. Either way, this is a beautiful property. We will definitely be back. Pura Vida!

We came to Villa Pelicanos as a family of 21 to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. As a family that has traveled the world together, this was hands down the nicest, best run villa we have rented. From the moment we arrived until we had to sadly say goodbye, it was extraordinary.
Mario, the chef, is THE BEST! His food was delicious and he was completely accommodating of any dietary needs we had. But more than that, he is fun and made our Costa Rica cuisine experience memorable and beautiful. From his amazing empanadas to his daily presentation of fruit, we were awed.
The view is second to none. The wildlife breathtaking....each morning and evening a pair of macaws flew around, the iguanas were fascinating, howler monkeys and a sloth in the tree that was too camoflauged for us to find, but a highlight for sure to be surrounded by wildlife like that.
Geralynn is also a standout helping us plan our excursions, coordinating any help we needed with transportation and any needed information for getting along in town, at the grocery or with needs at the house. She is super responsive and helped make our visit a fabulous adventure.
We loved this home and would come back in a heartbeat. The location proximity to beautiful beaches, as well as Manuel Antonio National Park and the jungle is perfection, You can not pick a better spot to spend your time in Costa Rica.

What a beautiful location, everything was perfect. We were all completely surprised at the wildlife that lived by and around the home. We saw so many different species, and close up. It was fabulous. We hope to come back one day. A True Gem!

We traveled to Costa Rica with 46 of our friends and family for our wedding celebration. Villa Pelicano was the perfect spot for entertaining the group (19 stayed at this location). Chef Mario is outstanding and always provided the best meals and entertainment! The views are second to none and the home has a distinct Costa Rican feel. The wildlife is everywhere and the property is beautifully maintained. We have stayed in 3 other homes in Quepos in the past and this is by far the best. We would recommend Pelicano to all of our family and friends.

This house and all its amenities' where perfect for our family of 15. Beautiful well maintained property with a view to die for. Central location for all the excursions we did. Having a housekeeper daily and a chef was a real bonus. Mario was a lot of fun to be around and was an excellent chef. Having a pool to take a dip in at he end of a long day was awesome
The only complaint was that steep drive way you have to walk up and down to get to main road was hard on us old folks. Cant wait to go back. Getting to see all the different animals right there at the house was a Hugh bonus...

Absolutely wonderful. Property beautifully maintained. All staff absolutely wonderful. Chef and assistant are the best and made our vacation over the top. Mario and Jose are invaluable.

This place is great! Often property photos with wide angle lenses make places look larger than they are but this place is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Pool is large and excellent with a shallow end that was easy for a 5 year old to walk around in and a deep end (about 8') for the older kids. Chef Mario is excellent. Very friendly, easy to work with for the menus, and we all felt like we were friends. Geralyn (concierge) was also excellent and took care of us all week. Responded immediately to our calls or texts and would have a taxi at our front door in 5 minutes any time we asked. The common areas are huge and bedrooms/bathrooms are all large and comfortable. Our group was my wife and I, our 3 sons and their wives and our 7 grandchildren ages 2-14. The 5 acre property is full of wildlife and beautiful birds. Can't wait to go back!

The property was awe-inspiring, overlooking the Pacific. There were 6 master suites, but one had enough beds to sleep all of the kids (6). What really made the vacation was Gerilyn, the concierge, and Mario, the private chef. Gerilyn arranged everything we wanted with the ease of a phone call to her, including a doctor. Mario was not only a wonderful, accommodating chef, but the sweetest man too, who was there with a smile and coffee every morning and a perfect dinner every night. My best vacation ever!

I can’t say enough about the wonderful time my family had at Villa Pelicano. The house is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos, and we were stunned by visits from Capuchin and Howler monkeys, iguanas, Macaws, Toucans and other wildlife that we didn’t know the name of. The house and casita gave our group of 12 plenty of room to spread out, or to come together on the lovely patio. The pool is huge and was always the perfect temperature, and the bedrooms were large with comfortable beds and cold AC. There is no AC in the living room, but there are fans and a nice breeze that kept us comfortable. Chef Mario and his assistant Jose Mario kept us entertained and well fed with the most delicious breakfasts and dinners, and we had plenty of leftovers for our lunches. Geralyn arranged all of our tours and made things so easy for us, and even arranged a house call from a doctor when one of our group needed some medication for an eye infection (he contracted this before we arrived-it wasn’t due to anything at the house or in CR). Honestly, the trip was a dream, and we can’t wait to go back!

We traveled with a group 16-20 adults who arrived / departed at various times during the week. The entire experience was fantastic. The house is as advertised -- very big, very comfortable, and very indoor / outdoor. We spent our time on the patio and in the pool. The house hasn't been updated recently, which was fine with us. Everything is clean, just not as "modern" in design / aesthetic. What really made the trip was the team of people that work here, especially Chef Mario (and his team). The food was local, fresh, and delicious. More than just that, he was happy and a great host for us -- he was at the house a LOT cooking breakfast and dinner. Geralyn (the concierge for the house) set up EVERYTHING for us. Groceries, menu, rides to/from the airport, all of our excursions, random trips to the beach, massages, etc. She was always available.
Great home, even better people.

We had the most amazing time staying at villa pelicano! My husband and I invited both sides of our family together to celebrate our 40th birthdays, and we will never forget our time in Costa Rica! Geralyn recommended & scheduled the most amazing excursions. She was easy to get a hold of anytime we had questions.
chef Mario & his cousin Mario made us the most amazing meals - we all have never eaten so well
In our entire lives! Everyone raved about each meal he made!
We had a total of 16 & the house fit us all perfectly! Thanks for such an amazing time!

Villa Pelicano managed to exceed our expectations, even from the gorgeous photos! We were fully prepared and every detail was organized from our arrivals to departures. This began online with our Concierge service with Geralyn. She guided us along the entire process for the trip, detailing costs/gathering deposits for excursions/arranging transportation. We never had to wait long for a response, even when we were at the beach asking for several rides to the villa. Geralyn made sure everything was perfect! We did a whitewater adventure and saw a beautiful waterfall, went through the rainforest with a guide, spent several days at the beach parasailing, jetskiing, and swimming. For the second time, we set sail on the snorkel/sunset catamaran cruise that included dinner and drinks-we love that one! We were going to do the buggy trip with waterfalls but a part needed to be ordered, so we weren't able to do that. We were going to paddle board at night, but were so tired, we ended up not going. When we went to the beach (where the water sports are), some took a taxi and others walked about 20 minutes. Some of us walked back, but most rode. It's a very tough walk uphill, but not impossible. So wonderful to spend the day or return home to the pool We loved the umbrellas, lounge chairs, and even the seating upstairs. The pool was larger than we expected and spent hours upon hours enjoying it...and the iguanas and monkeys! Chef Mario and Mario (cousins) were a major highlight of our vacation. Whether we ordered or asked to be surprised, we were blown away by the delicious meals. Their personalities were delightful and we learned so much from them. We had 8 children from age 10-16 and with some limited palettes and 3 gluten free diets. Everyone was well fed and happy! We primarily opted for a fish and chicken entre each night and our breakfasts were well received by all . LOVE the Costa Rican dishes and we even came home with a few recipes! This vacation is a mother's dream come true, even my husband says our trips to Costa Rica are the best trips we've ever taken. The grounds were pristine and the daily cleaners were so sweet and thorough. We had a little laundry taken care of each day, and really appreciated that. The hill going up to the mail road was tough for one of the mom's, but we were able to ask Mario or Geralyn to drive her up the hill so she could go shopping. Lots of little shops and restaurants, even grocery stores in 5 min. walk!! Go stay!

We had a fantastic time and loved the property and staff. Big kudos to Mario, our chef, and his assistant Mario Jose. They were fantastic. Food wonderful! He was able to prepare food for everyone and entertain all of us...especially the children. Our 8 year old wanted to take him home with her!
The 4 rooms on the upper deck were very spacious and comfortable. We used the lower level rooms for the children. Our our house keeper, Anjelica, was very good and also washed our clothes. The concierge, Geralyn, took care of all of the logistics..transfers and tours. She even arranged for a band to play for my birthday. All in all we had a wonderful time. Oh yes, the pool and grounds were perfect.
Thank you to the staff and owners.

Lovely home with amazing view. Nice location close to restaurants and a small grocery store. Chef Mario and his assistant cooked some wonderful meals. Only minuses were long walk to the beach (bus back is almost a must given the up hill walk back), spotty hot water for showers which management was unable to resolve, and no wifi in rooms on the lower level (hot tub would really be a nice added touch as well).

Amazing house
I went to Costa Rica with 8 other girlfriends and rented this house. Dona Anna, the cook was a sweetheart, always prepared and cooked great food. The house was spotless and cleaned regularly. The hot water was a little iffy sometimes. But overall the house was incredible and perfect for trip with 8 adults. The views are amazing, it is centrally located and the pool is awesome. We loved our stay there!

60th Anniversary
Villa Pelicano was the perfect spot for our family of 13 to gather together for a week to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Fabulous cooking by Ana served by smiling Mario, fascinating and fun activities arranged by efficient Geralyn—all enjoyed in a paradise of beauty. Absolutely perfect!!!!

Beautiful View. Outstanding Staff!!
The place is a little dated and the lack of water pressure and hot water at times prevents a 5 star rating. The staff was incredible and definitely rated 5 stars. Geralyn, Anna, Mario and Angelica were great. Geralyn was our concierge and booked all our excursions and took care of EVERYTHING. Anna and her son, Mario prepared gourmet meals for us throughout the week. Simply outstanding. We had a group of 12 adults (2 families) with plenty of room for everyone and would definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely Perfect!
We had a large group of 17 friends celebrating our 50th Bdays and I couldn't think of a more perfect set up!
The house is absolutely wonderful and a perfect setting! We had a blast by the pool and couldn't get enough of the sunsets and view.
The location is great and many restaurants, stores, and bars are walk able. We were able to see monkeys, birds, and the local Iguanas that reside on the property.
Geralyn, our concierge was integral to our stay. She helped me plan a surprise DJ and bartender for one of the nights. She orchestrated all of our activities (cabs, beach day, Waterfall tour, Catamaran, dinner reservations, shuttles) and even on-site Covid Testing. I can't say enough good things about her and her attention to service.
Anna (chef) and her daughter Mari kept us well fed and pampered us. This was one of my favorite things about staying here..food and drinks was a no-brainer. They took care of everything for us and I can't appreciate them enough.
We would absolutely stay here again! One of my favorite trips!

The Most Amazing House I’ve Ever Stayed In!
Villa Pelicano and it’s staff were beyond 5 stars in every way. Geralyn our host was very easy to talk to and helped us coordinate in house covid testing. Chef Ana cooked a variety of foods for us and she also made sure my friends with allergies were taken care of and safe. She also accommodated our vegan friends alongside the rest of the house guests. We will definitely be back again!

A sanctuary during covid
So safe and fun. We forgot we were in the midst of pandemic. Staff was so safe, all food prepared so no time required in town. Unbelievably beautiful. If there were not so many beautiful places to see we could have just stayed in the home all week.

This property is so beautiful. From the breathtaking views to the epic wildlife. I strongly recommend this property. The host was amazing. As were the maids, chefs and other on site staff. Carlos was the name of the taxi driver that drove the most for us and he is amazing also.

A little slice of Paradise for our biennial family reunion!
We are a blended family of 4 adult children, their spouses and a total of 7 grandchildren (ranging in age from 4 to 14) and the house could not have been more perfect! The house itself, the grounds and the pool area lent itself to our Costa Rica plans superbly as we had excursions early in the day followed by afternoons of chilling poolside and then cocktails and beautiful sunsets on the porch deck. Chef Ana and her son Mario

Stayed here with my family this June. The house, grounds and accommodations are exceptional. Pictures dont come close to capturing the beauty. The staff, especially Geryln, Chef Ana and Mario went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. By the end of the week we had made lifelong friends...our Costa Rican family!
Highly recommend this property. We hope to return one day!!!

Could not have been better!
Almost a year before our arrival, we were assigned a personal concierge, Geralyn. It was obvious from the start that she wanted to do everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Whether it was booking the property, recommending tours, answering questions, or providing cab service, there was no task too big or too small. Geralyn's concern was obvious and much appreciated.
Villa Pelicano itself was almost overwhelming. The facility is very big, but laid out in a way to be spacious yet comfortable--a large, covered veranda with cushy lounge chairs for reading or afternoon naps, an open area furnished to facilitate quiet reading or socializing, a pleasant pool area, and grounds that are lovely.
We were a family group celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. So we had 10 adults and 9 children ranging in age from 19 to 2. There was room for everyone--not only to sleep, but also to relax, swim, read, play games with each other, and socialize. No one ever felt cramped or crowded.
Elida, the housekeeper, was wonderful. Everything was swept and cleaned daily except Sunday (her day off). As we are environmentally conscious, we appreciated the practice of not changing sheets daily. A few minor mechanical issues were tended to immediately by our groundskeeper, Michael.
Chef Ana and her sous chef/son Mario were outstanding! Friendly! Considerate! And incredibly talented! They worked with us to select the freshest ingredients--fruit, veggies, fish, chicken, and beef. We all enjoyed standard appetizers such as guacamole and salsa, and were blown away by Mario's surprise tuna tartar. Ana's preparation of every meal was impeccable. We wished we could have stayed another week in order to try some of her other specialties.
Impressive equally to their remarkable talents in the kitchen was their ability to relate to our entire family. Whether it be allowing 3-year-old Brayden to help set placemats on the table or working with one of the adults to pick "just the right menu' for the evening meal, Ana and Mario were always helpful, friendly, and considerate. By week's end we considered them part of the family.
Our stay was one that created memories for a lifetime.
