Very clean and tidy house. Beds really comfy. A lovely complementary bottle of wine was enjoyed by us all. My only negative comment would be is that the 2 lounge couches need updating as they were uncomfortable.

Historic property within easy walking distance of attractions. Property was very comfortable for family. We ate out mostly, but plenty of crockery etc. for inside dining. The balcony would be great in the summer. The only drawback would be the noise from the street in the front bedroom. It was priced affordably and in very clean condition.

Fantastic venue for our 11 person reunion. Only negative is the 2 toilets at one end of the house, however, realise that can't be helped. Everything necessary in bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms. Even the squeeky floorboards made the old home authentic. All in all we had a wonderful catch up.

Communication with Cath was great, check in was simple. House was very nice, had everything we needed. There were even some goodies left for us which were appreciated.
Only thing was the floor plan showed 2 single beds in bedroom 4, but here was a queen bed instead. (We had a group of singles) Not a great drama.
Overall, great stay and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay, very comfortable and clean. Roads were busy but you didn’t hear them inside. Communication with the manager was spot on any questions were quickly answered. Loved the idea of not having a key entry, it made it so much easier with a code. Loved the house and would definitely stay there again.

We had walks to town with the dogs. Whom loved a new garden to sniff around.

We were 4 friends having a couple of days away and to visit the gallery. The house was even better than we expected. Spacious, a bedroom each, kitchen was more than very usable, great heating so we were warm. Very close to everything we wanted, and town. We had an 11am check out which was a bonus. We will return.

Thanks for a lovely stay. The property worked very well for us all. We were warm & comfortable & close to the festival action. And thanks for the wine and chocolates, all scoffed very quickly! A great trip all round, thanks Cath.

We had the most delightful and relaxing stay at The Old Store over the ANZAC long weekend. The place was very comfortably furnished and the many antique pieces added to the character and charm of the place - it did feel like we were stepping back in time!
Very comfortable beds and lovely linen.
The hosts (Cath & Mark ) attention to detail was excellent. They were also easy to communicate with and prompt to respond.
We enjoyed our accommodation as much as we did exploring Bendigo.
Thanks Cath & Mark.

We loved the Old Store on Barnard straight away. It is warm and comfortable, combining history and modern convenience. We could have stayed a lot longer.

This is a property above and beyond normal standards which helped make the stay feel a little special. An imposing heritage building beautifully restored, comfortable and well appointed. Multiple living areas making it possible for sa house with several adults to coexist with their own spaces to enjoy. Furnishings and art showing an eye of a keen collector. And a position close to Bendigo central within easy distance of the gallery and many cafes and wine bars. Especially for the price, this is above 5 star and would not hesitate to recommend and to return.

This beautifully renovated cottage and historic store was full of interesting books and the kitchen was well set up. Off street parking was fine and had the option of parking inside backyard if needed. Reasonably busy road so some noise for light sleepers. Otherwise is a fabulous place to stay for a family or group of friends. Highly recommend.

Our group consisted of our 3 grown children, their partners and 2 grandchildren. We had a family wedding to attend and as we are scattered all around the country, we needed a place where we could all be together. This lovely house fitted the bill perfectly. It was warm, very cosy and charming.

Charming, relaxed and homely stay
Loved the old store, it was very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful styling in keeping with the history of the house. The host provided information on things to see and do; and the chocolates, wine and coffee were unexpected gifts but appreciated. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend

Family Celebration
Needing a house for family members from across Australia to come together for a family function, this house was a perfect fit. It was spacious but so homely and comfortable. We ate meals around the large country dining table and chatted with wine on the comfy couches by the wood fire, well into the night. The 'treats' supplied were a generous touch. This property was truely a home away from home. The only thing missing was a large fluffy cat to sleep by the fire! This house is even more lovely than it appears in the photos provided. Highly recommended.

Celebration in Bendigo
We had booked for a family wedding in November 2020 however Covid had other plans and wedding rebooked to this weekend. Rebooking and asking many questions of Cath (owner)was brilliant and easy. Accomodation was fun, with great comfy beds and all we needed. Special touches of port and chocolates, local produce & ample fire wood for the beautiful fire just topped it off. Great place for a group!!! Would highly recommend.

Lovely large and clean property which easily accommodated our large group (8). A great out door deck where we had some very relaxing alfresco meals. Cath was very helpful with our booking and our stay. The property played a big part in us all having a very enjoyable stay in Bendigo. Thank you Cath! :)

We loved our stay here. It is located so central to everything we wanted to do.
The kids loved having an Xbox and Netflix also. Plenty of space and lots of sleeping options. It was a really hit weekend we were there but the air conditioner worked great. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Bendigo

We loved our stay at ‘The Old Store’ in Bendigo. The house was clean and spacious and had excellent facilities. There were some thoughtful extras such as a complimentary wine, coffee and port which we enjoyed by the wood fire. We can’t wait to stay again next time we are in town!

Fantastic historical property close to the city
We really enjoyed our stay. Such an atmospheric property with plenty of space and corners to escape to. Wonderful ambience and everything worked perfectly. Thanks too to Cath for her responsiveness and ensuring the visit was seamless.

The house is an old renovated property pretty close to the centre of BendigoAbsolutely everything you need is thereGreat kitchen, multiple bathrooms, fire pkace, multiple living rooms, 2 tvs, back deck, bbq, cute little yard, private parking and very comfortable bedsI found the electronic keypad front door lock really great because it allows access without worrying about any keysThe only issue I had was it is on a very busy road and on a roundabout; which had vehicles, trucks and harleys all accelerating like crazy once they got through the roundabout From 5.45 each morning til 9am, I simply couldnt sleep no matter which bedroom I tried This was a huge factor for us because if I cant get decent sleep on holiday, I may aswell stay homeThankfully the rear bedroom, which is the largest bedroom offered a bit of protection. But the neighbours were using angle grinders and tech screws at 8am.....which is obviously not a fault of where we stayedId recommend staying here because it is such a lovely place, but just be prepared to be awake early
