This sweet Lake Champlain cottage is a wonderful retreat for a romantic getaway or small family vacation! Nestled in the trees, this craftsman built cottage is a perfect getaway spot. Tucked in the corner of a large family estate, this cozy cottage's private yard meets over 200 feet of direct frontage on the western shore of Lake Champlain.
While small in size, you'll be impressed by the smart design of this cottage. The vaulted timber ceiling in the master bedroom loft is lovely. The wraparound wall of windows in the 3 season room gives the expanded open living and dining area a sunny, spacious feel. .The kitchen doesn't cut any corners: you'll find a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, fridge with freezer, and all the pots and pans you need to prepare meals. Kitchen and living area are one cozy room. Downstairs, the guest room/den has 2 twin beds.

Everything we needed was there and everything worked perfectly. This cabin and its amenities were exceptional and exceeded expectations. The owner was readily available to respond to our needs.

Beautiful location and property on the water.
A simple, rustic and clean place on the lake with a very large yard leading to the shore. Lots of windows facing the water and great entertainment space.

Favorite part is the large private lot on the lake. Even. Louis snd rain didn’t spoil the stay. Great place.

Perfect cottage on the lake!
Cottage is as pictures. Rustic inside and out. Kitchen is well stocked with all the basics. Could use a new mattress in master bedroom and perhaps a refresh on some of the more aging items (throws, pillows, etc) Nina was lovely to deal with and it ended up being right on the half marathon course. Excellent for hubby and our bernese mountain dog to cheer us on. Highly recommend fora getaway!

Lovely Long Weekend
This was our second visit to South Hero staying in the lovely cabin. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean and cozy and we were close to so many fun attractions. We will be back!

Perfect house and location
This house and it’s location were perfect. Nina was quick to answer any questions. The check in was very easy. We so much enjoyed the living area looking out at Lake Champlain. It was so peaceful sitting and reading in this room. The house was clean and well supplied. It was so nice being able to walk right to the lake shore. It was too cool for us to swim. But it looked very easy to get into the water. We also liked the convenience of a general store close by. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this house to anyone. Nina, thank you for letting us rent this house.

A lovely birthday weekend on the Island at a very special place
I was very impressed with this place. First, it had everything we needed. It was well-equipped, plenty of linens, the kitchen has everything you need, and there is plenty of space to relax. There is obviously a lot of thought and craftsmanship that went into making this place comfortable. Location is awesome, we loved the trees flanking the back yard and found a perfect place to set up our hammocks. We brought our kayaks and bikes and found opportunities to use both. Amazing sunsets, of course. We would stay there again, for sure. Thank you for being great hosts!

The Perfect View
This was a beautiful and cozy cottage with an amazing view. We couldn't stop taking pictures. Loved having coffee down by the water. Saw bald eagles and a mink. Overall, this was an enjoyable stay and Nina was very helpful.

Beautiful place
We loved our all-too-brief stay here. It’s just as described, maybe better. The house is cozy and comfortable, and the master bedroom upstairs huge and airy. Our dog loved the big yard leading down to the water, which of course has amazing views and spectacular sunsets. Great swimming, and great cycling around the islands too. A wonderful, relaxing time.

We stayed for a month!
We came here for the first time when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, and we came back this summer when she was 10 years old. My little family were so happy and cozy tucked up in Nina’s little cabin. The property is everything we dream of for a lake vacation. It’s such a special place to be with family and make memories. Perfect lake Champlain site, room to run around, memories my children will Jacob forever!

Charm on Lake Champlain
A short but amazing family vacation on this very special property in So. Hero. My first visit to the area and could not have been more pleased with the house, the yard, the shoreline and amazing sunsets. The house is larger than it appears in the photos and is a very comfortable place for the family with our dog in tow. It was a dreamy location with great views and peaceful surroundings. Nina and her family could not be more lovely and welcoming. We will be back !

This place was a dream
Everything about this home was as advertised. It was moderately clean (if you love spotless, living by the water did attract some bugs which is normal but nothing major and nothing disruptive), quiet, completely private and utterly beautiful. You cannot beat the location. The porch area was perfect for dinners, game nights, morning coffee. My pup adjusted so well. She slept like a champ, the yard was big for her to run in and the neighbors adorable dog came over to play with her once a day. We swam in the water and had a lovely fire in the fire pit. And the neighbors (who happen to be family of the owner) were friendly and kind. All correspondence with Nina was timely. She worked with me when I had to adjust my vacation schedule slightly. We’re already talking about coming back! Highly recommend

Well appointed hidden gem
We can't say enough good things about this property. It's very well sited with both a shallow pebble beach and a deep water area with an expansive flat lawn. Trees on both sides allow ample privacy while town is just a short drive away. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything imaginable, even a lobster pot! The front porch is enormous with an array of very comfortable furniture and excellent light. The comfortable master bedroom and great water pressure in the shower was so welcome after all our fun in the sun! The owner was friendly and helpful, the neighbors came over to say hello, it was great. Thanks very much for a lovely mini-vacation! We had a blast and would love to return soon.

Great kitchen - nice stay
We had a lovely time at this camp. The kitchen is very well equipped and it has a nice grill. I suggest water shoes if you’re going by the lake, as there is a lot of metal and broken glass down there. The owners were very responsive and let us check in early. Thank you!

Loved it!!!
The photos here do not do this place justice. So cozy & cute inside! The yard is huge & the view is gorgeous. We did not want to leave! We were stocked with everything we needed to cook, play games & enjoy our stay. Less than 2 miles away is a great store with anything you may want for meals & such, and a few restaurants close by as well. There are neighboring houses not too close, but you wouldn’t know, it felt very secluded & was quiet. The shoreline was amazing. I looked forward to getting in by dark just to sit out there and take in the view. It is close to many places to venture off to and have fun, yet still come back to a perfect relaxing place for the evening. I never like to go anywhere twice as life is short, but I definitely want to come back here during another season. We loved it!!!

Cozy and comfortable
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this cottage on Lake Champlain. Nina and her husband Ron are really great, friendly people. The cottage was perfect for us - the kitchen was well equipped (my husband likes to cook), the rooms were really comfortable and it is quiet and private. Best of all, the lake is right there - very refreshing. We were able to leave our kayaks right down by the water and spent a lot of time paddling and swimming. This is a great area for biking and exploring as well. We highly recommend this retreat on Lake Champlain!

Lovely Time In Lake Champlain
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at this property on Lake Champlain. The house was cute, cozy, spacious and full of character with a well equipped kitchen and gas grill. We all enjoyed (including our dog) the large private yard with easy access to the lake and the spectacular sunsets every night. This property was everything that we had hoped it would be.
We stayed in the area the previous year and just loved the location. The lake is gorgeous and very peaceful with very little boat traffic. When we weren't swimming and enjoying the views we found plenty of other great things to do. We recommend doing the epic bike journey across the lake bike path to Burlington, hiking and exploring the waterfalls and trails in Stowe, wine tasting at the vineyard (just down the road), and of course sampling the local ice cream shops.
We had such a great time here and thank you for sharing this lovely place.

Private, wonderful beach area
This is one of the best places we have stayed at. The house is well furnished, kitchen lacks nothing, and the location is perfect. Should you want to go to Burlington it's only a 20 minute drive. We enjoyed our time at the beach. We will also be back!! Nina answered any questions I had quickly, and we had the pleasure of meeting her husband Ron and son Corey during our stay. Great family, great location.
