From this privileged elevated position, wide scenic views can be enjoyed, stretching right from the Apuan Alps inland to the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The Cinque Terre villages too are very close at hand.
ACCOMMODATION:
The property extends over three floors, as follows: This modern fitted kitchen is fully equipped with oven; fridge / freezer, dishwasher; toaster; and espresso and American coffee-makers. Issuing from here, the utility room accommodates a washing-machine and dryer.
Positioned just outside the dining room, a few external steps lead upstairs to the first floor sleeping quarters. This is a romantic double bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom and shower, as well as a lovely adjoining terrace.
From this level to the top floor, where the second double bedroom is located, complete with its own bathroom
The house is tastefully and nicely furnished and decorated. Both bedrooms are fitted with air-conditioning; Sat. TV; CD-player; and mini-bar. The first-floor bedroom also provides a safe. Embroidered towels and bathrobes are likewise supplied. The disposal of the following guests: a cell phone; breakfast provided, but not served; organic produces from the villa's vegetable garden.
Cottage Gardenia is indeed surrounded by an extensive garden, brightly planted with colorful, scented seasonal flowers. Beyond this, a large olive grove forms a restful backdrop. An elegant wooden gazebo, appointed with table and wickerwork chairs, allows you to enjoy this beautiful natural setting in welcome shade or linger over breakfast, al fresco lunch or dinner. Completing this idyllic scene is the spacious, warm-water jacuzzi (3x3 meters), encircled by sunshades and comfortable loungers, and with its own hot, outdoor shower.
Please note: The property-owners themselves reside in the converted farmhouse in the same grounds, just a few meters from Villetta Gardenia. However, each house has its own private entrance and garden and it goes without saying that the property-owners are fully respectful of their guests.

It’s bin the best vacation, on the perfect location. The host where so nice - the fridge where full when we arrive. Antonio took us to the best bakery and vinery. Booked a table for us, at the best local restaurant.
The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The surroundings where beautiful.

Paradiesisch
In einem Olivenhain gelegenes, wunderschönes gepflegtes Haus mit wunderschönen Ausblick. Wer etwas Ruhe haben will, ist hier genau richtig. In die Stadt oder an den Strand sind es nur 15-20 Minuten. Bei Ankunft wurden wir herzlich empfangen und der Kühlschrank war mit Köstlichkeiten gefüllt. Fabiana und Antonio waren die besten Gastgeber die wir je hatten. Nur zu Empfehlen !!

Wunderschöner Urlaub
Wir haben die Gastfreundschaft von Fabiana und Antonio sehr genossen, die uns nach langer Anreise mit italienischen Köstlichkeiten und einem gefüllten Kühlschrank empfangen hatten. Wir erhielten immer tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants. Das Haus liegt etwas abseits, dafür wird man mit einem atemberaubenden Blick belohnt. Das Haus selbst ist sehr gepflegt und es ist alles da was man braucht.

A taste of paradise in the beautiful Italian countryside
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Antonio and Fabiana's beautiful home. They were the perfect hosts and the villa and grounds were very tranquil with stunning views - we enjoyed being away from the crowds but within easy reach of the Cinque Terre and lovely Italian towns such as Pisa and Lucca, not to mention the sweet little town of Ortonovo itself. We arrived in the early evening and were greeted by our hosts and a delicious spread of tasty treats prepared by Fabiana. The beautiful, well equipped kitchen/sitting room which led onto the garden was also stocked with breakfast items which was a very thoughtful touch and a nice surprise. As a family of 4 adults the accommodation worked perfectly for us with one bedroom and ensuite upstairs and one downstairs. We really wished we could have stayed longer and definitely hope to return.

the perfect place to get away from the hectic life. all the rest and privacy in the middle of the olive trees and still only a few minutes walk to the nice village Castelnuovo Magra.
if you like sun and sea... it's there. if you like hiking ... it's there. if you like culture, architecture and romantic walks, villages and susets.... it's there.
this all with a very friendly host gives you the perfect vacation in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy ... and other countries.

Liebevoll eingerichtete Villa
Der Aufenthalt in der Villa war sehr schön. Alle Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Sehr sauber!! Bei der Ankunft war der Kühlschrank gefüllt mit italienischen Köstlichkeiten. Toll!!!
Die Verständigung war etwas schwierig, die Eigentümer verstehen fast kein Englisch.
Leider benötigt man für jegliche Unternehmung das Auto. Zu einem schönen Strand ist man mindestens eine halbe Stunde mit dem Auto unterwegs.

Deux anges vous accueillent au Paradis !!! Two angels welcome you in Paradise !!! 27/07 - 03/08/18
La location parfaite (THE perfect renting) ! Nous avons été accueillis par Antonio, Fabiana et leurs petits chiens Coco et Lino (très bien éduqués, on ne les entend pas !). L'Aia, jolie maison située au calme au milieu de la petite oliveraie qui entoure le jardin. Antonio nous a fait visité les lieux : deux chambres meublées avec soin et goût (avec le fameux lit matrimonial cher aux italiens), lumineuses, confortables et climatisée avec vue sur le jardin et petite terrasse pour l'une et vue sur la mer au loin l'autre. Les salles de bain sont impeccables et le linge de toilette de qualité est fourni en quantité. La pièce à vivre est spacieuse, remplie de lumière, chaleureuse et climatisée avec une cuisine bien équipée tant en vaisselle qu'en ustensiles. Nous avons été particulièrement charmés par les attentions de nos hôtes : le frigo était rempli non seulement de yaourts, mozzarella, fromages, beurre, oeufs, lait, jus de fruit, charcuterie, mais surtout de plein de délicieux plats préparés maison par Fabiana (nous nous sommes régalés tous mes 4 pendant 2 repas). La table était joliment dressée, avec du pain frais en quantité, du vin,... Quel accueil merveilleux ! Antonio nous a invité pour l'apéritif à boire le fameux "spritz" et finalement, ils nous ont convié à partager leur dîner, en compagnie de leurs trois convives invités ce soir là. Quelle belle soirée nous avons passée en leur compagnie !!! Nous nous sommes régalés (et sommes en plus repartis avec du pesto fait maison, un délice goûté le lendemain !) mais nous avons surtout fait une belle rencontre. Nous nous sommes débrouillés tous entre l'italien, le français et l'anglais (ah Antonio et ses onomatopées, ses bruitages, ses mimes !) et nous nous sommes parfaitement compris et amusés ! Quelle soirée ! Le chaleureux accueil d'Antonio et Fabiana est exceptionnel (je n'ai jamais connu cela ailleurs), mais ils sont également des hôtes extrêmement discrets en journée. Le lieu est très bien placé pour visiter les Cinque Terre et une partie de la Toscane, ou ne rien faire, installé au frais dans le salon de jardin ombragé ou sur un transat au soleil ou même dans le jacuzzi. Avec le chant des cigales comme musique de fond ! Le paradis ! L'Aia est un lieu parfait avec des hôtes parfaits ! A recommander chaudement ! Il s'agit pour nous d'une très belle rencontre dont nous souviendrons toute notre vie. Grazie mille per tutto Antonio e Fabiana ! Siamo felice d'avere incontrarvi. A presto, speriamo !

Excellent séjour au milieu des oliviers
Excellent séjour à Ortonovo avec un très bel accueil des propriétaires, hôtes discrets et prévenants. La maison est partagée entre deux espaces (nuit avec deux belles chambres et deux salles de bains) et jour avec cuisine très bien équipée et espace détente (jacuzzi ,bains de soleil...etc).
Le logement est situé un peu à l'écart mais assez proche de nombreux lieux à voir absolument (Carrare, Cinque Terre, Porto Venere, Pise, Lucques...etc), ce qui permet de varier les plaisirs entre visites et moments de repos.
En bref, un véritable coup de coeur pour cette propriété!

Das perfekte Ferienhaus
Fabiana und Antonio sind die besten Vermieter, die man sich wünschen kann. Sehr diskret und doch äußerst herzlich. Wir wurden gleich einmal mit Köstlichkeiten der Region (Antipasti und Wein) empfangen. Im Kühlschrank waren sogar noch Getränke und Obst für uns. Die beiden tun alles, damit man sich wohlfühlt. Man möchte das Haus gar nicht verlassen, weil alles zum Verweilen einlädt - die Terrasse mit Meerblick, der Garten mit Whirlpool und der schattige Olivenhain. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt einfach nur genossen!

A DIFFERENT ASPECT OF TUSCANY. THIS IS A WARM AND INVITING HOME.
We have truly enjoyed our stay here and I highly recommend it.
This was our first trip to Tuscany and indeed our first house rental anywhere outside of the U.S. We had no idea of what to expect. The location is beautiful. It isn't exactly as I had pictured it in reading about it online and from reading other reviews, but it is beautiful. The property itself could not be lovelier. There are many olive trees, there are abundant flowers, there are hedges that provide privacy. In fact the privacy afforded is a real highlight. You can see that they really paid attention to that aspect.
Fabiana and Antonio were wonderful hosts! Warm, welcoming and gracious. They speak very little English however, so, it would be a good idea to brush up on your Italian before coming. Or, at the very least, keep your phrase book handy! Just know that you won't be able to communicate in English. We were not expecting that.
The road leading to the property is kind of scary with several blind curves. Just be aware and drive carefully.
There is a very narrow, quite long, gated driveway leading to the house. You will either have to back out of the driveway when you leave or become good at "back and fill" turn arounds.
For our arrival Fabiana had prepared several wonderful snacks for us. In fact, it was enough for us to breakfast and supper on for three days! It was all marvelous. Cheeses, grapes, oranges, lemons, panettone, bruschetta, bread, cookies, olive oil, teas and coffee, wine and even Prosecco!
The kitchen and living area are in separate parts of the home from the bedrooms. You need to go out side to access the kitchen/family room. It is nice in that it provides privacy.
The kitchen had all the pots and pans and silverware and dishes that one needs to make a fairly extensive meal.
One of our main reasons for choosing the Villetta Gardenia was the fact that they had a king size bed! In fact, they have one in each of the two bedrooms! The bathrooms were good sized (except the WC) and the shower was excellent. Although we did run out of hot water a couple of times. Be aware if a lot of you are showering.
One thing that was kind of irritating was the wifi. It is provided by means of a hotspot. It was very erratic and in fact did not work most of the time. I assume that it is because of the local cell tower as our cell phones did not receive data well either.
This was a wonderful experience for us and I highly recommend the Villetta Gardenia!

Superbe location proche des "Cinque Terre"
Nous avons passé un séjour formidable à la villa de Fabiana et Antonio.
La maison est superbe, très agréable et aménagée avec beaucoup de goût (c'est encore mieux en vrai que sur les photos), très bien équipée et d'une propreté irréprochable. Le jardin est très agréable et très bien entretenu par Antonio. Beaucoup de terrasses aménagées pour les différents moments de la journée, pour d'agréables petits déjeuners, apéros, dîners .... avec une magnifique vue.
Le super jacuzzi pour se relaxer au retour de nos visites a été très apprécié.
Nos hôtes Fabiana et Antonio sont très accueillants et sympathiques, très serviables et discrets. L'assortiment d'antipasti et de primi confectionnés par Fabiana pour notre arrivée étaient excellents.
De plus la région est magnifique: Pise, Lucca, Les Cinque Terre avec leurs magnifiques villages colorés .... le tout en moto, c'était superbe !
En résumé d'excellentes vacances ! Nous y reviendrons ...

Ruhiges Anwesen mit herrlicher Aussicht
Im April 2017 waren wir (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) eine Woche bei Antonio un Fabiana zu Gast. Auf dem Anwesen haben wir in einem schönen Haus auf drei Etagen gewohnt. Alles ist liebevoll und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Auf den oberen beiden Etagen befinden sich je 1 Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, je 1 Bad sowie 1x Sauna und 1x Balkon. Im unteren Bereich ist die gut ausgestattete Küche mit Essbereich. Im Garten davor hat es eine gedeckte Lounge, einen Whirlpool (war bei uns leider nicht in Betrieb, wahrscheinlich nur im Sommer benutzbar), Liegestühle und eine Gartendusche. Am Abend hat es lange Sonne. Von der oberen Terrasse aus geniesst man eine herrliche Aussicht. Das ganze Anwesen liegt sehr ruhig und etwas abgeschieden, terrassiert in Hanglage, umgeben mit mediterranen Bäumen. Unserer Meinung nach braucht es ein Auto, es hätte zwar eine Bushaltestelle in der Nähe, in der Region mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr zu reisen, ist jedoch sehr umständlich.
Die Gastgeber wohnen auch auf dem Anwesen direkt nebenan, was aber nur zu unserem Vorteil war. Der Kühlschrank war bei unserer Ankunft mit vielen, teils selbstgemachten Leckereien gefüllt, der Tisch gedeckt. Antonio und Fabiana haben sich familiär-freundlich um uns vier gekümmert, haben bei Bedarf rasch geholfen und waren trotzdem zuvorkommend diskret.
Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir können das Anwesen und die Gastgeber gerne empfehlen!

Sehr gepflegtes und gemütliches Haus mit traumhaftem Ausblick
Das Grundstück liegt etwas oberhalb in den Bergen - ist aber auch noch nicht zu weit oben, so dass man das Meer mit dem Auto noch gut erreichen kann und nicht zu viele enge Kurven fahren muss. Auch ist es guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Florenz, Lucca und Pisa sowie Wanderungen.
Antonio und Fabiana - die Eigentümer - sind sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Am Tag unserer Ankunft wartete schon ein sehr leckeres, typisch italienisches Abendessen auf uns und auch für das Frühstück war vorgesorgt. Wir fühlten uns sofort wohl.
Die Räume sind sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und besondere Details, wie Bilder und Accessoires machen es so gemütlich.
Es gibt einen sehr schönen Garten mit alten Olivenbäumen und überdachter Sitzecke.
Das Haus von Fabiana und Antonio befindet sich mit auf dem Grundstück. Sie waren für Fragen stets für uns da, aber dennoch sehr diskret und keine Beeinträchtigung.
Die Küche ist nur über den Garten erreichbar, was aber im Sommer nicht stört. Alles war sehr sauber und hat gut funktioniert.
Wir hatten einzig mit dem warmen Wasser teilweise Probleme, fanden dann aber heraus, dass es nach Betätigung der Dusche im EG wieder überall im Haus ausreichend floss.
Nach einer Woche gab es eine Zwischenreinigung und frische Wäsche im Haus.
Wir können das Haus weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit nochmal unseren Urlaub dort verbringen. Es ist wirklich so schön, wie auf den Fotos.

Perfect place for a wonderful holiday
Fabiana und Antonio sind ganz wunderbare Gastgeber. Die Kommunikation mit Francesca war immer sehr schnell und nett und sie war extrem hilfreich, als wir in der Nacht das Haus nicht gefunden haben, noch mal vielen Dank dafür. Fabiana und Antonio habe uns so herzlich empfangen, wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie haben und den ganzen Kühlschrank mit diversen Köstlichkeiten gefüllt, dass wir einen extrem guten und leckeren Start in einen sehr entspannten Urlaub hatten. Die Lage des Hauses ist ganz großartig, man hat einen wundervollen Blick von den Zimmern und der Küche/Wohnzimmer/Garten auf die Landschaft. Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und der Küche fehlt es an nichts. Während der ganzen Zeit haben uns die beiden sehr verwöhnt und wir haben dort einen phantastischen Urlaub verbracht und können das Haus nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, von der Spülmaschine, dem Backofen, den Fliegengittern, über die Waschmaschine bis zur Klimaanlage hin. Es ist modern und sehr gemütlich. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern (4 und 2 Jahre) zwei Wochen dort, alle vier waren wir auch begeistert von dem schönen Pool. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist atemberaubend.

Our best VRBO experience ever!
Not only is this garden villetta perfect for a small family or two couples, Fabiana and Antonio are the most wonderful hosts one could hope for. We arrived late night after a long trip from Oregon, and there was an extensive cold plate dinner waiting for us! They helped us with plans for the area and told us of secret local places. When my husband's ATM card was eaten by a local machine, Fabiana drove him back down and retrieved it. We found the location perfect for driving to everything in Northern Tuscany. Simply perfect!

Absolutely perfect.
We spent one week at Villetta Gardenia and it was amazing. The house itself is really nice and charming. With a nice garden and views, the perfect place to relax. It is also very well located, very close to the beach, and half an hour drive to Pisa, Lucca, and La Spezia (boats to the CinqueTerre).
The owners are very friendly people, discreet but disposable for everything you could need.
And we had the dinner of our arrival day in the table when we arrived, and it was completely amazing.

Our family's stay with Sea and Country Villas was great. The location (Castelnuovo Magra) and the property was excellent. We really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and private back yard pool. I would recommend Sea and Country Villas to everyone. We definitely be looking forward to staying with them again.

Our dog, Milo loved the big garden, where he could play for hours.

Disappointing .. no summer house as it's his sons gym and we were angrily informed it was private! !...also pool is halfway up hill behind house ...no good for restricted mobility or small children ,dangerous steps also to access pool area...house was filthy...bathroom needs replacing ...mezzanine unsafe for small children..there is no boat, canoe etc you have to pay him to take you out on his boat where he can also sell you use of other equipment ..exposed electric cable in kitchen area oh and don't wander in garden after dark there are wild pigs

Wonderful holiday location
A wonderful house with two wonderful hosts! We had a great stay at the viletta with our two kids (2 years and 6 months). Fabiana and Antonio gave us so many tips for trips to Lucca, Portovenere and sourroundings and spoiled us with delicious italian appetizers. Everything is decorated with so much attention to detail, making you feel right at home.

We have had a wonderful week. We loved the house the bedroom was very cosy. The outdoor kitchen was just great. Also the garden and the Jacuzzi was very nice and taked care off very well. Fabiana and Antonio are very good and Kind Hosts. It was a surprise for us that they filled us the Refrigerator with Food and drink

Tout simplement parfait
De loin notre meilleure location de vacances!
Le lieu tout d'abord : maison perdue dans la colline comme on les aime tout en restant proche des différents points d'intérêt (Pise, Lucques, Cinque Terre...). La maison est superbe, plusieurs terrasses et lieux de repos extérieurs. Les canapés dans le jardin sont divins pour l'apéro. La cuisine toute en baie vitrée à raie de jardin est très agréable.
Mais ce qui fait le vrai plus de la maison ce sont ses propriétaires : quelle joie de découvrir en arrivant après des heures de bouchon un superbe repas composé de quelques 10 plats typiques différents! (un délice qui nous a duré 2 jours). Le garde-manger était également rempli avec tout ce qu'il faut pour le petit déjeuner suivant. au milieu du séjour Antonio et Fabiana nous ont aussi préparé des bonnes "pastas". Le jacousi a eu un problème avec une pompe et Antonio s'est démené pour le réparer en peu de jours (mission réussie). Fabiana nous a ramassé notre linge séchant quand une averse impromptue est survenue quand nous étions en balade. Bref des gens adorables plein de gentilles attentions.
Et enfin, le contact avec Francesca de Sea and Country villas est parfait. Paiement sécurisé, bonnes instructions pour préparer le séjour.
