The staff was very very nice and friendly. We didn’t have cash for the taxi and the hotel offer to pay for in advance. The room was spotless and very nice view of the lake
Nothing we enjoyed our stay
4.2
Breakfast was lovely and the decor of the hotel was five star
No pool for our kids to swim in as I assumed by the name Lougrea Hotel and Spa that it had a pool
4.2
Breakfast was great, plenty of selection.

The staff!! The hotel is fab but the staff make it!! They are a credit to the hotel

the staff made it they were unbelievable!

The lake view bedroom was comfortable, of descent size, and clean
The hotel did not feel 4* at all. Facilities are in deep need of refurbishment, and the staff is lacking basic training in customer service.
The staff's lack of attention to details was appalling:
- restaurant booking made and confirmed via message using booking.com did not reach the restaurant, there was no booking against our reservation
- we ordered drinks in the rooftop bar, glasses were dirty with remaining traces of lipstick and fingers
- fruit salad had a sticker remaining on an apple, some fruits were no longer fresh for consumption
- food at the restaurant was missing basic quality checks (e.g. one of two burgers had a tiny portion of cheese, requiring staff intervention to get an adequate serving). Food quality was also very average and certainly not worth the price paid. No one came to ask how the food was, which is very surprising for what is supposed to be a 4* hotel
- we tried to order room service at 8:55pm, to be told it wasn't possible. The staff did not try to accommodate basic sandwiches or similar, so we ended up going to a convenience store to buy food.
- the triple bedroom was not set as requested in the booking, we had to ask to separate beds into single beds
- during checkout, the receptionist did not ask about how the stay went. This is a very small detail but says a lot about the staff training, or lack of training.
The facilities are in deep need of attention:
- it starts with the big golden swan above the reception. It's covered with sticky tape marks. I've never seen this in a 4* hotel. This is the first thing people see, it should be spotless
- carpet in the stairs needs replacing, we can see through it
- the seat I sat on in the restaurant had a broken leg
- one bed in the triple room had a hole in the mattress
- relaxation seats in the spa's relaxation room are cracked wide open and look like they're 20+ years of age with missing electronic controls.

Very good and fresh
On first night of stay all okay but when the room was cleaned the dirty cups/glass was left and not replaced

The bed and the bath
I didn't like the food. The fact there was no pool as I was pregnant I couldn't use the thermal suite.
4.2
does not feel like a 4 star. €52 bottle of wine at the bar tasted like a €10 bottle. Lighting was way too bright for the bar in the evening. Breakfast was fry or nothing. it wouldn’t take much to have a decent wine list and somewhere comfortable (rather than the bar) to enjoy it. Overall it felt like a wedding factory and a 3 star hotel.

Spacious bedroom, great location.
Nothing

near to the town, reasonable price for start week and breakfast included too
spa wellness centre next to it.
seems more expensive to book on the weekends. prob due to wanting make money back from losses during covid 19
why we opted for start of the week
lovely place do
it is missing a swimming pool/ gym maybe to give it that extra boost on staying.

Breakfast was good and a good selection of food.
The selection of food in bar was limited. My burger was under cooked. There was no shampoo or hand soap in the dispenser. Need to call housekeeping.

Has the prettiest view of the lake. The staff were super friendly and so wonderful and helpful! The room was clean and comfortable and perfect in every way possible.
Nothing.
4.2
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was good (but why is it not possible to serve drinkable coffee in hotels?)
The bar area is OK, but not very comfortable or welcoming and the live music (2 guys with a backing track) was loud and intrusive rather than background.

comfortable location

Lovely hotel! Great room, lovely and spacious. Air conditioning. Lovely food.
Service at breakfast was very slow!
4.2
Lovely staff, really nice location
