Location was fantastic. Very nice that they had a fridge available for guests to use

The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. The location was perfect - steps away from the ferry and close to food, tours, and most sites. We didn't take a car and didn't need one. The room was spotless, a good size, and had all amenities we needed. The breakfast was delicious; lots of fruit, pancakes, breads, jellies, meats, etc. Visiting the island was one of the best parts of our visit to Iceland, and staying in this hotel made it an even better choice!

I liked that this property was so close to the ferry.
Wifi went out in the evening, and there is no one manning the desk in the evening.

Everything was great.

Clean, big, well heated rooms with comfy beds and super close to the ferry. Don't need much more for one night on this little island.

Great location. We were just out of the regular season so there was no breakfast available but the staff directed us to a restaurant that had excellent food. Very friendly staff.
Liked everything!

Every thing was good 👍

We were there in late September. They didn’t serve breakfast but had coffee and cereal availiable. The rooms are large and clean comfy beds and a great location. Very good value. I would recommend the Hotel Hamar.

Property is very convenient to harbor and short walk to several restaurants. Rooms were clean and good value, and nice to not have to rush to catch an evening ferry off the island. One of few options locally that had triple rooms even booking six months in advance.

Comfortable rooms, great breakfest with a lot of choice, porridge, pancakes, fruit, vegetables etc

It was not my first stay in Hamar, unfortunately, the last one. It is very noisy, you can hear people talking in the rooms above and next to you. Additionally, since it is a guesthouse no one is there during the night so I had to deal with a bunch of partying women to let us sleep, it was around 1:30 am. You pay a pretty high price for your comfort, and you want to rest but you have to deal with partying people instead. Simply nothing has changed since 2013 and it is a pity because Hamar is perfectly situated, in the middle of everything. So if you don't mind the noise choose it. If you want to rest go somewhere else.

a beautiful place in the center of vestmannaeyjar. great location as you can literally reach everything in short walking distance. the place is VERY comfy
it should be made little more clear, that breakfast is only available from May til September, with very few options around

It is called a guesthouse, but it is a hotel. I arrived and saw no staff the entire time i stayed. Not really a problem... just an observation.
no breakfast was served due to corona virus. Most other places i stayed in Iceland served breakfast anyway.

Breakfast was fine, Island is a great location to stay.
Stayed here because there were really no other affordable options on the island. Despite our previous experience when we had to cancel because of Covid. In fact, this was the only hotel during our cancelled tour that never responded to our email and messages through Booking.
In fact, our check-in was kind of a repeat of our previous experience. No staff during check-in.Keys were on the counter with post-its. Contact with guests here is seemingly a big deal for the staff/owners. Only during breakfast did we see any staff. Rooms are also rented out to seasonal workers who spend the entire evening on the phone with the home front which can be heard clearly in the room.
