Why This Property:
The villa is located in a small Mediterranean style village, not a building, and is inside the premises of the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort. Our picturesque village has cobblestone streets and beautiful centenary trees. It borders the resort’s Ocean Golf Course which provides dramatic tropical views, and is right next to the golf clubhouse, which has restaurants and a sports shop. If you are looking for a peaceful place, our villa is like a dream come true. I can be hours at a time in our large terrace listening to the songs of birds, feeling the tropical breeze, viewing the beautiful landscape gardens. Reading, dining or enjoying a drink in the terrace is priceless. I also love that the villa opens completely as it has wall to wall French doors at the living area, bedroom and family room, so the villa has the privilege to embrace nature and will recharge you from the outside. It is really a magical place. The villa is very spacious and comfortable with high 15 foot cathedral ceilings that provide a sense of coziness and keeps the villa cool during the day. When you are ready for some action, there is plenty to do at this beautiful resort.

The property was well kept and comfortable.

We enjoyed spring break in Puerto Rico. This villa was the perfect space for our family of four. The futons worked for our kids and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beach and pool were a short drive within the gated property. We went to El Yunque (10-20 minutes to trails) one day and Fajardo for a night kayak tour (20-30 minutes away). We had drinks and an appetizer at Richies a little past the Wyndham entrance - amazing view. We went to the Laquillo Kiosks (five minutes down the road) twice - great postillios! We ate at Cariballi outside one night and they had live music. We had a fabulous vacation! Thank you!

We liked the facility with the exception of the distance to the pool.

Beatrice provided a wealth of information prior to arriving including detailed instructions on how to enter the villa and tour and restaurant recommendations. Villa was clean and comfortable in a good location. Beach and private pool for the villas was a short drive.

We enjoyed our first visit to Puerto Rico. We loved the villas' pool - never crowded, large, and good for our daily exercise, and it's next to the ocean -- where we swan and walked on the lovely beach. The unit had 15 steps down (a flight of 10, plus 4, and then 1), which was tricky for those of us in our 80's and would not work for anyone handicapped. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. Several times we visited El Yunque National Forest which is very nearby and beautiful as well as the best beach of all, Monserrate.
4.8
We enjoyed the villa, the security, location, pool and beaches. The villa has a Mediterranean/Spanish style which is really nice. It is spacious and you can open the glass doors and make it even more spacious. However, we encountered several issues hence the 3 star rating. Although the glass doors open up to 2 balconies, they do not have a canopy and the AC units leak on the balconies where the furniture and floor are always wet. The Wi-Fi instructions are wrong, no instructions on how to watch cable tv, the fridge does not make ice, no hot water in showers only lukewarm, no coin change for laundromat available, the master bedroom’s bathroom cold water sink does not work, and the toilets hardly flush. However, the villa is very relaxing and the resort is beautiful. Also, the futons need updating as the covers seem outdated and used. Our overall stay was good however it needs maintenance and updating.

We flew in from Washington DC for six days. As a former professional tennis player I enjoyed hitting and playing with Andre on the awesome courts they have inside the complex. Our two kids, two and three years old, liked the fact that the apartment was rather childproof, (sockets were covered, gate outside main door, etc.) Access to all the pools at Wyndham Grand was as described, as long as you buy a drink or food, they are accessible to the Villa guests. We spent many whole days at the multiple Wyndham pools. El Junque rainforest trip is literally across the ‘street’, takes 20 minutes to get to the falls. We went and had an awesome time. Also went on a day trip to Flamenco Beach even though it was closed, it was still accessible and excellent. Went to dinner one night at the Hyatt restaurant nearby. Anyhow, apartment was well maintained on all levels. Directions easy to follow. Beatrice was accessible but we didn’t bother her too much, I hope ;-) Will be returning for sure, as it’s a direct flight, and this is probably as good as it gets on the island. Excellent choice.

We had great time at Villa Beatrice very safe area!

The location of the unit is excellent! Quiet, close to beach, beautiful scenery, great eating joints; however, I encountered a few issues: 1) WiFi instructions are wrong, ISP no reliable, refrigerator does not make ice and lights don’t work, leaking overhead A/C unit in common are. Besides these items, all else was adequate. The Point of contact person, although quite pleasant, struggled to provide some sort of of remedy, given I had to take time from my working vacation to buy industrial tape to “fix” the refrigerator light issue; I also had to solve my own WiFi problem. I still recommend the unit and location. Again, host was extremely polite.

Nice Location but needs lots of improvements
Rio Mar is a really nice area to stay and Beatrice is a very nice and helpful owner. Unfortunately the villa isn’t as cozy as the pictures made it appear. The furniture in the villa is in desperate need of upgrades. Particularly- All of the mattresses / futons in the villa are completely shot and need to be replaced. The blinds in the villa were worn down as well. We also had issues with the air conditioning while we were there and Beatrice stepped in and helped fix that very quickly - - which were really appreciated.

Great Location!
Place was super comfortable for us. Security 24/7 all the amenities you can think and close to El Yunque Rain Forest, Luquillo Beach, Restaurants etc. We have a great vacations at Villa Beatrice!

It was ok. A bit overpriced
The property was clean. My only thing was the check in process was like doing a quest. The front door lock was extremely hard to open with the key. We could not close it at all as it would absolutely not turn.. the lights in the kitchen kept flashing and would not stay on. The bed could use some updating, was a bit uncomfortable. As well as te futón. Overall the place is nice, safe and is well furnished. I paid a little over $300 and think it’s definitely overpriced. But again it’s spacious pretty, the grounds are immaculate with a casino nearby.

We spent a really great week at Villa Beatrice. The property location couldn’t be better - with us, the secluded beach with rolling waves, brilliant turquoise waters and sandy smooth ocean floor was the epitome of great time. The property had everything we needed for our stay. A couple of things could be improved - the bed is very uncomfortably hard so we ended up buying a mattress topper which improved it greatly. The balcony doors will lock you out if you don’t pay attention so we temporarily disabled the locks. The instructions were great but parts (especially WiFi access and hot water) need to be updated for accuracy.
Pros:
Location, location, location: the view from the balcony is beautiful and after driving less than a mile you end up on a gorgeous beach. The bottom of the ocean is sandy all the way in. Not a single rock. The water is turquoise and 80 degrees in April. The beach stretches for at least 2 miles and is regularly maintained. We did not have chairs and just played in the waves for and hour every morning and evening. There were very few people on the beach. The 3 air-conditioner units worked great. Appliances we used all worked well (we didn’t cook much). There are 3 hard futons you can open, in addition to the bedroom. The futons worked ok for our teenager. The quiet, the view from the balcony, the waves and the proximity to many things (Old San Juan, Luquillo, Fajardo) made for a really great vacation. I wish we had known about the hard bed so we can get the topper earlier in the stay. Beatrice was fantastic in keeping in touch and her instructions (with updates) are the best we have received from VRBOs in the past. Highly recommend.

Wonderful First Experience in PR
I chose this property to have multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, location and cost. It did not disappoint. It is beautifully just inside the Wyndham Rio Mar resort gates giving you all the lush tropical landscaping of the resort but without the hassle of driving all the way in, parking, getting to your room in the hotel and then cramming 4 people into one room and one bath. All of the instructions were very easy to follow and we had no issues at all with check in or check out. We came on the heels of a power outage and Beatrice was very communicative during that process and we thankfully only went a few hours without power before it was restored. We enjoyed that we were closer to all of the activities we wanted to do (Ferry to Culebra (40 min), BioLumeniscent Bay (30) min, El Yunque Forest (10 min), and just 30 min into San Juan and Old San Juan. We wanted an adventure and we got one. The furnishings are simple but enough and were as described in the photos. We are very excited to return to Puerto Rico and would definitely consider staying with a Beatrice property again.

We stayed for a month at the villa. It's a great spot. There is everything you could want at your fingertips. El Yunque national park is a 5 minute drive. We went hiking there 3 different days. The pool is large and well kept with parking right beside it. Just behind the pool is the beach. We walked the beach and swam in the pool almost everyday. For golf, there are two courses to choose from on the property. You get a greatly reduced rate if you are staying at the villas. We golfed there 2X a week. We also played at Grand Reserve golf (formerly the famous Coco Beach golf course) just 10 minutes away where the Puerto Rican PGA was played this year. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen of the villa but treated ourselves to amazing food at The Wyndham Rio Mar which is on site. There are many restaurants to choose from. The one at the golf club is a 5 minute walk. Beatrice is a very welcoming host and makes check in and check out a breeze. She also answered all of our questions promptly. The staff at the villas are also amazing. Our car battery died and two of the grounds keepers gave us a boost within minutes of discovering our issue. We also visited the spa at the hotel and its fitness centre. If you have time, take a ferry or plane from Ceiba to the island of Vieques. The bioluminescent bay there is unreal.

Beautiful villa in a resort. We were not allowed to use the hotel pool but the villas have access to their own small pool and beach.
We had a lovely Christmas break.
4.8
It was perfect for our little get away from the cold. The views are great. Loved the balconies to sit and drink coffee on. Pool/beach access was wonderful. Met some of the locals and they were sweet.
Used some of the restraunts that were suggested and loved them.
Unfortunately the master bed is not very comfortable. And there were no sharp knives. Other than that, our stay was very nice.

A wonderful Villa on an amazing island
My wife and 16-month old son were visiting Puerto Rico for the first time to attend a family wedding in Rio Grande. We wanted to book a villa and landed on this one for many reasons, one mainly because they offered a crib. The villa was very clean and spacious for the three of us. Very close to the Wyndham resort, restaurants, and golf course. Also the pool and beaches were a short drive. There's a laundry area close by as well.
Beatrice was so helpful and communicative before, during, and after our stay. She sent along a ton of local recommendations and information we would have not known or learned otherwise. She helped us feel at home away from home.

From the time I booked our family vacation, I knew I would not be disappointed! The villa was clean, comfortable , and as described. The kitchen was recently remodeled! The remainder of the Villa appears to be original, but true to the culture. Beatrice was a wonderful host, providing detailed instructions, including a you tube video, on accessing the unit! I used her pdf document, which consisted of 25 pages, of recommendations. Everything in this document was spot on! From the grocery stores to restaurants and must do trips! All of this information is as used on a daily basis!Than you, Beatrice!

Puerto Rico is open for business
Don't shy away from going to Puerto Rico and Rio Mar Resort is a great location. Beatrice was a great property manager and extremely responsive. Don't bother buying a guide book. Beatrice makes sure you know all the great places to eat and best excursions to take. Had a wonderful vacation.

Nice apartment we enjoyed it
First of all very nice apartment well located two nice rooms with a nice new kitchen. Pretty and charming nicely decorated simple but with greT taste.
We had a tough week but the owner Beatrice was always there thanks for all the tips and info.
Prior to the 6.4 earthquake we loss hot water so we only enjoyed a single day of hot water as even though a few attempts to fix it we were on cold water all week. Then the quake and no electricity for 2 full days nothing could done there not the owners fault.
apologies were nice a little commercial gesture would have been appreciated as no hot water for 6 days was not what we had hoped for
In any case still a great apartment don’t hesitate to book there Beatrice was always present for us.
Thanks

Weekend Getaway
Overall, it was a decent place to stay. Outside of the kitchen, the unit was a bit outdated but still offered a decent view of the grounds and the unit meet our needs.

Our family had a great stay at this property-clean, close to everything and spacious.
Beatrice was a lovely host, she was always available and replied to our texts within a few hours. The unit was clean and had more than enough room for our family of four. Our only issue during our stay was the washer didn't operate and it was resolved within a day-the property manager was polite and even reimbursed our money to use the machine. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and relaxed. Thanks Beatrice!

My recent stay at Villa Beatrice was a perfect family getaway! The owner Beatrice was extremely helpful and had flawless communication starting with my booking and throughout my stay at the villa. The villa itself was much larger than I imagined and was more than enough space for our family of four equipped with all the necessary tools for cooking and entertainment throughout our stay. The resort was beautiful and shuttle to the main hotel was very easy to take advantage of, but can also take advantage of the other pool with has parking right at the pool. The neighborhood was very convenient located near enough great restaurants, supermarket, Walgreens and of course El Junque Rainforest! :) Overall we could not be happier and would highly recommend Villa Beatrice to anyone who is looking for a relaxing family getaway in a great area of Puerto Rico. Looking forward to booking again soon! :)
