Will not return again.

The location was ideal with beach access and everything in walking distance.

Limited supplies: 1 used roll of toilet paper, 0 paper towels, 2 towels, 1 dish towel, 0 laundry detergent, 1 used bottle of disinfectant cleaner and no additional cleaners. Check-in was confusing and the contact was rude. No instructions for using the gate remote or door locks. Pool had a lot of algae and was not clean. Lack of compassion when dealing with a medical emergency on the day of check out. Refused even a minimal extension to vacate and a woman (Grace) inserted herself and infringed on our privacy, while paramedics were tending to my fiance. Luckily we were on vacation with other family members, and my cousin could accompany my fiance to the hospital in the ambulance.

All in all we were happy with our stay and would recommend it for families or couples.

- Location: the hotel is located more or less in the middle of the island on the side of Ponta Delgado, 27 minutes fro the airport. It’s also in walking distance (5 minutes) to a water park, 2 public beaches and a marina with diving, snorkeling, whale watching, kayaking and other activities. And walking distance to the Islet ferry (which we sadly didn’t have time to take). There are several restaurants and 2 small super markets you can walk to or drive. - Amenities: nicely sized pool, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven, coffee machine and more. Also small gym. They gave ample towels (for shower and the beach), extra blankets and pillows. That was great! - Space and design: we rented the 3 br, 2 ba “vila” - which was spacious and very modern. The top floor had a bathtub while the lower floor had a shower. The master bedroom had air-conditioner (A/C) and during our stay they added a portable A/C for the kids room. There were balconies in every room, with the living room balcony facing the shared pool. Gorgeous views and sounds of the ocean.

- Self-guided arrival: I arrived at 12:30am and while I informed the staff of this and they said it’s fine, the self guided concept was challenging. I wasn’t sure I’m in the right place, then it was unclear how to enter the premise with a car. I didn’t know which room (unit) is mine and even after I overcame all of these challenges, the door lock didn’t work. I texted via the booking.com app (super helpful). The person on the other side was doing their best to explain remotely, but I wish they’d use a set of photos or videos to explain (would make things much easier). Eventually even the person on the other side gave up and said someone will come in 3-5 minutes. That took about 30 minutes, of me sitting in a foreign country, in the dark, at 2am, waiting for someone so I can get into my room and sleep. imagine that experience with kids… the person who came to help also couldn’t open the door by the way, and we eventually “broke in” through a side door (that doesn’t really lock even if I wanted later - not a big deal) - Instructions: There was no guidance on how to operate the dishwasher and washing machine (I’ve used a lot of those in my time and it still took us a good 20 minutes to figure out), nor hints on where to throw the trash, texted the property again and they gave a vague explanation (“there are containers in the middle of the property”). I know they were doing their best, but I think they can improve on the async communication (photos or more detailed explanation). - cleanliness: the place was very clean when we arrived, but ants joined us on the 2nd day. Understandable giving nature, but I wish the place was easier to keep clean from crumbs and stuff (vacuum and Clorox wipes? Or bounty paper with Clorox?)

Great view of ocean, but check-in process is POOR!

Check-In could definitely be better. Instructions need to be sent prior to arrival (like 1 or 2 days before), because of Wi-Fi connection. It be would be better to have a person to deal with for check-in there on the property. 1 Key for a group of 8 people is NOT enough. Finally, saw housekeeper and asked for additional key. NEVER given a telephone as per instructions. Lock on door to unit, NEEDS to be replaced with one that actually works. The boards on the patios need to be replaced or nailed down---someone can get seriously hurt. The WINDOW in the bathroom within the bedroom, that NEEDS to a curtain, as your surrounding neighbors can see you!!! That's NOT acceptable!!!! The dryer is NOT an actual dryer---it's a drying rack---that's POOR!!! The weather is not always conducive to to drying.

Pool was super!

Pool was great- tables and chairs, loungers, BBQ area, and a few umbrellas. Size of the condo and large bed were awesome. Towels provided for pool and/or Furnas hot springs big plus. Washer and kitchen appliances - all great.

I couldn't tell from the Booking description that this was a condo, not a hotel. Ground floor without a secure patio so a little uncomfortable leaving the sliding doors open for air. No AC. Shower could use a good scrubbing for mildew.

By far the worst travel experience of my life.

The location of this property is fantastic, right above a nice beach, short walk to the marina, and not too far from downtown Franca do Campo. That is the only part of this that we likeable.

This place was absolutely terrible! We reviewed beforehand to make sure there was air conditioning as we were traveling with a group including a small child. We arrived to find that there was only air conditioning in the main bedroom, the rest of the unit had no air conditioning at all, despite us asking before hand. The furniture in the living room was fake black leather which was overused and pieces were coming off, the chairs for the table in the kitchen was partially broken an about to fall apart when sat on, there was a piece of a rusted metal pipe sticking out of the deck as well as a lot of nails popping up, there was 1 hand towel in the kitchen, no paper towels, and no soap anywhere to be found in the unit. The showers were disgusting and one didn't have anything in the soap dispenser in the shower. The 3rd bedroom was on the 1st floor with a walk out patio, again we were traveling with children and asked these questions before hand and were just flat out lied to about them. There were no trash bags in the unit at all. We asked for a high chair for the infant we were traveling with, which they said was available and then it arrived the last day of our stay.

fantastic place to totally relax and enjoy the beautiful Azores

Exceptional views from the property over the pool and ocean- better than in the promo materials. fantastically convenient location for all activities, ie beach, water park, restaurants, whale/dolphin shops and kayak hire. small supermarkets easy walking distance (all closed Sundays). Bus to Ponta Delgada and Furnas very convenient too.

Needed more patio/ balcony chairs, especially comfy loungers to soak up the view.

it’s falling apart . A/C in 1 room only. The furniture is literally falling apart The bed in the 1 room with a/c was decent but the double beds were nothing but box springs not mattresses. It was ridiculous. They were not friendly at all. I asked for toilet paper for 2 days. at one point another guest gave me some. It’s a shame because it’s a great spot. we were told the place had just been sold to a Russian company. Not locals anymore.

Superb

Very nice, modern house, well equipped kitchen, excellent communication with the owner. We had the best view on the fireworks on the last day of the year.

An extra blanket per person would have been nice.

Absolutely nothing.

Upon arrival we waited 1 hour outside to enter the premises. A lock box code was to be provided via email to access unit keys and no code was sent. Called multiple telephone numbers listed but no one answered for over on hour. Apartment was unclean, looked worn and dingy and dark. Furniture was dated and unit had no mountain views as described only a view of the road. Mattress was poor, noisy, hard and uncomfortable. One roll of toilet paper provided for the entire week and no one to contact for cleaning services or otherwise. After 4 nights (of a 7 night prepaid stay) we left this awful place and checked into a hotel in Caloura. This reservation has got to be the worst experience in my extensive travels and I would recommend no one stay here. No value for money. Tourist trap, once they have your money there is no one available to assist.

Superb

Perfect location in a smaller, much more grounded and less touristic city than Ponta Delgada. Still central on the Island. The apartment was spacious and ver comfortable. Balcony with wonderful sea view. We were lucky to be almost the only guests during the time - so even the pool area was sort of private.

Terrible experience: stay away from these cheaters

For far the worst hotel and customer service I have ever experienced. Hotel managed by unscrupulous individuals. We were supposed to get an apartment with "garden view", got an awful apartment with "street view instead" (see attached picture). Onsite staff didn't allow us to speak to hotel management. We didn't take the apartment as it clearly didn't fulfil the official description. While, we received written confirmation that the amount that we had already pre-paid would be reimbursed, we got a second message refusing reimbursement. Finally they even charged our credit card again. Stay away from these cheaters. Don't go to this place as you will be at serious risk of being cheated and experiencing a terrible service. We reported this to the Portuguese consumer protection organisation. Truly hope this comment helps to avoid further abuses.
