The location was perfect for us, close to the town and the wedding venue which was our reason for the stay. Very comfortable house and we would stay again if we visited Congleton in the future.

n.a.
No curtain/blind at the bathroom window which overlooked houses.

It is a great place to stay for Congleton with easy free parking in a safe area
It is not acceptable to have aged and very mouldy wooden kitchen spoons in the utensils drawer, a grubby cutlery draw with cutlery that needs dipped in boiling water and and a manky washing up bowl and sponge. I put the bowl outside for our entire stay. There were some mouldy bath tiles and the shower head and cable black with mildew. Especially as in a previous review I mentioned some of these problems. The house is surface cleaned only it seems.
I would stay again but as I did this time, take your own cooking utensils, and perhaps cutlery It’s a shame. This is a very nice cottage

Impressed with cleanliness and amenities in the house. Everything that was needed was there.
A blind on the bathroom window would have given more privacy, especially when having a bedtime shower.

No breakfast as this was a house and we self catered
The oven was tricky to use as all the markings had rubbed off so difficult to use even with instruction book.
My daughter thought bed in front room uncomfortable.

The location was good as was the parking on street.
The pillows could have been improved, the place felt as it could have done with a deep clean and was a bit musty on arrival.

Perfect location for the local pubs and visiting my grandparents.
Clean, kitchen perfect for cooking up some breakfast. Great to have Netflix the evenings when the weather was damp!!
Nothing!! Perfect ideal spot for visiting my family!

- very cute cottage with enough space and equipment
- shops closeby
- beautiful scenery ideal for walking
- nice patio
- On the patio, we found a wall mounted ash tray situated at head height, just at the back door. This was overflowing with cigarette butts when we arrived. It required a key to be emptied, which we did not have. Also a lot of butts on the patio floor, it looked really dirty.
- In the kitchen, the coffee and sugar supplies were unusable. The instant coffee granules were in short supply and solidified in the bottom of the tin. Both the coffee and sugar tin were absolutely filthy on the inside as well as on the outside. Shame!
- The fridge had not been properly cleaned therefore, we had to clean away dirty crumbs before use.
- There was a musty smell throughout the house on the ground floor, this being strongest in the kitchen. Although the weather allowed us to open windows to ventilate, the smell never went completely away.
- the bedlinen on the double bed was stained with multiple marks and needs to be replaced. The fleece blanket on the double bed, same issue.
- Seems slightly strange that the bathroom floor is fully carpeted. Especially when the shower screen does not have a complete seal and is therefore prone to leaking.
- The rubbish and recycle bins were smelly enough to make you gag. It would seem that they are not put out regularly or simply need a thorough clean.
- although it is a really nice cottage, we expect a 100% service and hygiene when we pay 85 pounds a night... Just had the impression that not a lot of effort had been made with regards to hygiene and making the guests feel welcome. Hope this review helps!

Well taken care of
In the evening it was chilly.
Turning up the thermostat didn't help a bit.
Found the central heating unit. Waterpressure almost too low.

Very clean and extremely comfortable. Enough items in kitchen etc for the two of us. Very easy entry and instructions. Would definitely recommend and use again.
Not a complaint as such but the markings on the oven dial are worn away and maybe just sharpie them in would save a bit of confusion.

Nothing you couldn't better, but, the hot water was piping hot and so was the central heating. I had to turn the both down.

Looked OK on first impressions
Bed too small, could easily fit a king sized bed in. Very little worktop space in kitchen, dirty cutlery and crockery, no frying pan, no steak knives, no cupboard space for food so we couldn't do a decent shop. Sofa in living room has no support and you're almost sitting on the floor. TV had distorted sound which only improved if you turned the volume up high, this was reported but nothing was done. Mirrors were all set too high upstairs, this has been brought up on previous reviews but nothing has been done. No dressing table/chair upstairs, had to take mirror off wall and prop it on the chest of drawers to be able to do hair/make up. There was no blind in the bathroom and as the window is from knee level to chest height, it's a strange choice, especially as the toilet is at window height. Again, this has been mentioned in previous reviews but hasn't been resolved.
