Midlands Saddle & Trout Weekend
Beautiful views & sceneries. Friendly, helpful staff.
It's a bit dated. So the towels are old & some torn. There's very few activities on site, so if you there for more than 2 nights, there's nothing to do. The amenities weren't replaced when used. The restaurant has a very small limited menu. There are no gluten-free options, no Halaal options & very little vegetarian options.

Great chalets .
Lovely and peaceful setting with wonderful countryside views . Size of accommodation surprisingly spacious.2 good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms including a spa bath in one of them.Balcony with table and chairs.BBQ in the garden below.Quality towels and bed linen.Great comfy beds and a good size.Plenty of wardrobe space.
Maintenance of accommodation not good.Broken wooden spindles on the balcony with protruding long nails.Broken coving on ceiling above.Bathroom and kitchen sink tap units very loose.Hot water got dangerously 🔥 hot, scalding in fact.Fire extinguisher was missing.Hairdryer was missing. No air conditioning or heating anywhere in accommodation. Fireplace but nothing to use to light it with. Kitchen cupboards and drawers very dated and old and dusty, hadn't been cleaned for years!!!

Still a great location with lovely chalets, but the resort needs work
I love the location and the resort itself. The chalets are well built and comfortable and there was ample space for our extended family. The staff were friendly as always.
The oven door was broken and despite reporting it, no one came to look, assess or repair. There were missing pieces of crockery and cutlery and we had to ask for towels and dish towels to be supplied. Despite arriving after our scheduled arrival time, the unit was not ready and we had to wait while it was cleaned.

Great place for a relaxing weekend away with something for everyone.
Food was good and well presented, Rooms are big with fireplace and the views are amazing
Some of the planned daily activities were not available due to broken equipment, the menu is very limited, only pizza and burgers.

Poor
The room where comfortable and clean. The manager dealt with our issue in a very friendly and accommodating manner.
We went in the middle of winter. Our unit was not sealed. Cold air streamed in from the sliding door edges and window edges. The fire place was set too far back and thus was totally inadequate to warm the room. We used 20kgs of wood in 1 night to ZERO effect. We cut our stay short after 1 night. Manager assisted us to move to Bushmans Nek for the remainder of the booking. At a large cost. A night to forget.

bad stay
the view
Good morning I hope you well. My husband and I have booked over the weekend. We booked in on Friday and checked out on Sunday . We have previously been to the accommodation before and we both already knew the standards and service. Firstly the load shedding is not an issue. How ever it I would have Atleast appreciated it if there were candles or matches. I called the resort a few times regarding the booking and no one mentioned load shedding or that you did not have back up power. Which is not fair. Secondly,No one bothered to check on us during the loadshedding and Ofcourse we are on holiday , the owner or managers should not expect us to drive up and down to reception for candles and matches. Thirdly We could not watch anything on tv even when the power was on before there was no connections to the tv or adapters etc. this was not fair at all. On Saturday I spoke to the gentleman in reception and explained my frustration. A gentleman came to the apartment he also mentioned that the apartment was suppose to be inspected and it was not inspected. Fourthly We came to the restaurant We order breakfast and waited 45mins for just our breakfast. The bacon and sausage were not cooked properly it was a pink. The sausage was frozen on the inside. It was a horrifying experience. As I mentioned I have stayed here before. I am truely disappointed. Everything was absolutely disappointing. I actually never spent any time at the appointment. What was worse is that I suggested this place to my hubby after many years and I looked like a complete idiot.
