Everything was perfect
Parking

It was in a good place , central to everywhere, had history to the building , staff were helpful and friendly .
Try as we might we couldn’t get the shower to work , it was either freezing or too hot it would burn .
4.1
Service was very poor. We were walking the SWCP and just wanted tea and toast, and boiled eggs for a sandwich. The toast took 30 minutes and the boiled eggs in a sandwich 45 minutes.
For the service I felt it was overpriced.

Great location, great room and even better breakfast!
Parking was a little tricky.
4.1
Beautiful pub in a great location with lots of character.
Nothing, staff are excellent and they loved our dog, giving him lots of treats and attention.

Loved the central location and our delightful lady member of staff, breakfast time.
She took great care of both my husband and I, plus our dog Hatty.
Would have liked the room cleaned mid week.

Breakfast was amazing, staff are really friendly, the room is very good value for money
Photos are slightly deceiving and make the room out to be bigger/laid out differently than when you arrive in person
4.1
A well located but sadly overpriced place to stay, but then so is Salcombe.
The food was average and they forgot my starter and then gave up because the chef had gone home. Overall a somewhat disappointing experience
4.1
thé location
minuscule bathroom so many stairs no one to check you out it as it was closed in the morning
4.1
Breakfast service shocking with manager and staff arguing and ignoring potential customers

Location in village
Very noisy room next to beer garden which closed at 1 am

The room was beautiful, as was the bathroom. The cooked breakfast was excellent.
The room was directly overlooking the outdoor eating area. It does warn people of this, but earplugs are definitely needed!
It would have been good to have a gluten free cereal option considering the amount we paid.

The staff, the location and the breakfast were all EXCELLENT. Restaurant food was also good and we were given a parking pass for the local car park which was a bonus.
It was COLD, very cold. Our room was OK but rather basic, the radiator was cold and it leaked, the bathroom was so cold that it filled with 'steam' from the shower. The TV did not work.
Is that enough?!

Lovely room, clean and well presented, great location.
Very noisy at night with loud music from the bar below.
Food in the pub at night very poor.

Breakfast was great with quick service and nothing was too much trouble! Bath was incredible, pressure was great on the shower, bed was comfy but may be too soft for some, fridge in the room to chill down water/beer/wine. Asked if we wanted to book table for dinner before our stay as they knew they were going to be busy.
Some of the fixtures in the room were beginning to show their age, but this is to be expected in a comfy inn and didn't at all detract from our experience! TV needs updating to smarter bracket and TV.

Such an amazing stay! Really lovely atmosphere and the room was even nicer than it looked in the pictures. Excellent location. Staff were incredibly helpful & friendly. We mentioned we were vegetarian and the chef made a special cooked breakfast for us - absolutely delicious! Pizza in the evening was excellent too.
Nothing!

Breakfast had a nice choice of food. Particularly like the lemon curd yoghurts and fresh croissants. Coffee was excellent.
Happy with breakfast. Maybe there could have been some fresh juice included.

food ok
our room was not the one we booked even though we had it in writing. woman refused to listen and we feel she lied.

Evening meal was excellent, as was breakfast. Even though they were apparently short staffed due to illness, the food came quickly, and all staff were friendly and calm.
The room was lovely, comfortable, big enough for 3 of us.
Could partially see sea from the room which was a bonus.
All were things mentioned by the hotel and previous reviews, so no surprises
- Weds night was quiet but Thursday was much noisier - some pub noise and also street, but not unexpected (Oct half term)
- Parking was a little walk away but we had a permit from the hotel so can't complain! Took a while to get a space, needed to wait in car for 5/10 mins, no biggie.
- It took a while to get seen by staff on arrival, and given key to room, as they were very busy (and short staffed apparently) but they saw to us as soon as they could
