Super schickes Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage.

This property is part of a small portfolio of Mallorcan properties owned by IT Mallorca. We stayed at their eco retreat in Can Auli, in Pollença, (AMAZING) and then at Sant Jaume. I also went to look at Can Alomar (also in Palma).
Each property is unique, the consistency is the exceptional staff. We interacted with about 8 different people at the two hotels and each one was friendly, personable, energetic and above all...competent. I had booked the first property direct, and the second via Booking. The staff went above and beyond to welcome us, explain the city, the property, the local artists, make reservations, suggests activities etc. The rooms are each unique (in all properties) and all have history.
I would/will go back to these properties and send guests (I own a hiking tour company). Though these are luxury properties they feel more personal than traditional 5 star hotel chains. It feels friendly vs formal. Breakfasts are outstanding. The pools/terraces at both properties fit well with the location. We were there off-season however it was lovely to have the opportunity to go up on the terrace, or use the spa (privately for an hour complimentary for all guests).
I could use easier access to USB/USC chargers in the room near beds and an extra bathmat if the room has both a shower and a bath (as ours did!).

I is really nice!
I think the minibar is needlessly overpriced.

I thought the breakfast underwhelming for 25 Euro per head

Prime location. Quiet. Very nice breakfast with friendly service. Room spacious with high end amenities. Excellent housekeeping.
Unmanned bar which was a great shame. It looks nice but with no staff on permanent duty behind the bar the entire atmosphere was lost. The bar could be a great social meeting point for guests but it always looked as if it was closed as there were no staff present. As a consequence, I always used the bar in the Gloria Hotel next door which had great ambience. Having a member of staff permanently behind the bar would make an enormous difference and would encourage people to use it thereby creating a cosy bar atmosphere.
No coffee machine in the room - this was quite a surprise as it is usual now to expect a Nespresso machine (or similar) in a hotel room, especially a 5 star hotel like the Sant Jaume Design Hotel. All that was available was a kettle and coffee sachets and tea bags which was not good enough.

Very well lovated, large room, nice welcome.
The staff is not the most polite but I would say it might be a Spanish thing.

The hotel was very nice, in a great but still quiet location. The staff helped us to coordinate a car rental delivery and pickup from the location, even on nights that we weren't staying there, which was incredibly helpful. They offer a turndown service where they will close your blinds and get your bed ready for sleeping, which was a very nice touch.
They also have a private spa, which you can reserve for 1 hour a day, which felt like a wonderful luxury, and we enjoyed it very much. Their rooftop deck is a bit larger than others, and has plenty of chairs for lounging in the sunshine, and a small rooftop plunge pool!
Once we arrived, the staff wasn't as helpful as we would have expected- especially for a 5 star hotel at this price point.
When we got to the hotel, we asked the staff where we could find some Olive Oil to bring home with us, because we had finished a week of fabulous food and Olive Oil. The person who we spoke to said that we would be able to find olive oil in the local market that we were going to, but we searched the market and there were no olive oil stands! He seemed reluctant to help us, and guessed that they would have olive oil somewhere. As tourists, we did not want to buy overpriced olive oil that was targeted for tourists, so we would have appreciated a local recommendation (Even if it was from a grocery store), which was a stark contrast to the recommendations we got from other (less expensive) hotels.
While they were able to call a very early morning cab for us to the airport, we had to wake up the person who was at reception both when we got to the hotel after dinner (at 10pm), and also when we were leaving (at 5am). Because we woke him up from sleeping both times, we weren't sure if he actually remembered to call us a cab. Luckily he called the cab, but it was a bit stressful because I wasn't sure if he actually called it because we woke him up from a slumber.
