It took hours to get the key from the key box as the incorrect code was posted. The room and bath are ver nice and clean but the lighting is so inadequate that to read anything you have to sit in the bathroom. There seems to be a problem adjusting the water temp your not told about. You either have ice cold or scalding hot water in the shower. Never got warm water from the sink Fay. No instructions to turn on the tv but two remotes. A still picture is all we got . We couldn’t access a mover or program or news all week. Because of an imerge coy the owners were not available. The two phone numbers which we called many times were wrong. The only communication was a call from Pilar the day we were leaving a day early. These concerns we told to Pilar to be sure correct numbers were listed and instructions . We would not suggest this ti anyone else .

This is the second time we have stayed at this home. This VRBO is just a single room, not the whole house. It has a private bath, a/c, wifi and is very comfortable and clean. The back yard is amazing with the salt water pool, wrap-around deck, and a stones throw to the ocean. You will need to walk about 100 yards down the beach for soft soft sand though which isn't bad. This is the only location we want to stay at when traveling to Puerto Rico

Pictures dont do it justice this property is beautiful and truly a one of a kind experiece being almost completely alone on the beach amazing

Beautiful location with spectacular pool and very short walk to beach! Only issue was with TV and could not get it to work for late night relaxing in bed but made gravy from that and stayed out late! Enjoyed each other’s company and when we went inside it was a great nights sleep!!

The House it self has so many unique pros. It is a very safe property with strong doors a gate and fence to get onto the property. There is a beach right out back with is usually empty. a completely private large salt water pool. massive wrap around porch. Wonderful home owners. The only cons are, There is no kitchen or place to wash your dishes, so eating leftovers can be a pain, and very limited space, as you do not get access to anything but your room and the bathrooms.
Do not be afraid if someone is on the property as the owners sometimes have people fixing things. This will not be often and really wasn't a problem.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. Property was beautiful. Our room was small, bed was very uncomfortable, shower didn’t work, tv was extremely small hard to see from the bed. The pool and yard was absolutely stunning, right on the beach. Salt water pool with outdoor shower and bathroom. Back patio was huge and beautiful. Owners communicated very well and were very kind.

We stayed for one week and the room, pool, and access to the beach were great! The house was very beautiful as well as the view. Great central location to all the activities we wanted to do. Owner so nice!

The photos don't do justice to how beautiful this home really is. We were able to really relax and enjoy the private pool and beach, which we had all to ourselves as Jorge and Pilar were out of town that weekend. The single bedroom/bathroom was cozy and spotless. The house feels very private, especially at night.
Jorge was very responsive and greeted us with some great local restaurant recommendations.
We would definitely recommend this place to any couple looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities.
El Yunque and Luquillo Beach are just a short drive away. If you are in the mood to go to the city, Old San Juan is about 45 minutes away.
We will definitely stay here in the future.

It is a room in the villa.
But the outdoor space is yours; it is huge and spacious, breezy with a view of the ocean with only pool and a few trees in between.
Pool with salt water was always available as well.
Hosts are great people. My husband and i felt ourselves at home.
The food is exellent, if you decide to request a dinner.

We loved every minute of it stay here! Beautiful home with a private room/ bathroom and an amazing view of the sea. We relaxed on the poolside patio at the end of each adventure. Enjoyed easy access to El Yunque, Las Tinajas, Vieques and beautiful beaches in Luquillo, Fajardo and Loiza. Definitely hope to stay again!

One room with queen bed + a bathroom in a building shared with the owners. We hardly saw anyone the whole week we were there. Nothing fancy, but definitely a quiet, relaxing location. Perfect for a couple.

We had such a pleasant experience at Villa Pilar. You can’t beat being right on the beach, going for walks along the water or just enjoying sunrise from the porch of the house. The property is safe and has space to park a car which was helpful to us. Highly recommend this listing!

Property listing is nothing like it says.
Took 35 minutes for someone to let us in
One bedroom shared in the home with property owner. No kitchen access, no working TV, dirty beds ac don't work, owner shuts everything down at 8 pm, said we couldn't bring my son, whom I was picking up, blocked our phone number.

A great experience for a couple to enjoy has a beautiful retreat. The property owners were excellent host and attentive to questions and needs. Mr. Jorge is a great cook and he's wife very cordial. Privacy was a concern for us, and was given, using the beutifull pool and beach. For additional cost, breakfast, dinner and laundry could be arranged with prior communication with owners.
The property is more than beutiful. A plus with this property is that is self sustained agaist power and water outages, making your stay very comfortable. The Room is very private and specious.
Overall, it's obvious....we do recommend for you, to experience, what we experienced.

Beautiful getaway
Private room and bathroom on the side of a beautiful home on the beach. We felt welcome, comfortable and safe the entire time. There was a table and chairs for us on the veranda, access to the pool and very private beach. The beach is shallow with a grassy reef but to the right just a short walk is a great swimming area. Best location for so many attractions and food. Thank you for an amazing time Pilar!!

Jorge and Pilar were wonderful. The property was incredible. It is a short drive to activities in Fajardo and San Juan. We would stay here again.

Hidden Gem
I have been in the area a few times, but first time staying at this location. The room was clean and spacious with all the amenities from a hotel. The terrace with direct view to the beach was amazing. The pool is beautiful but we did not have time to enjoy.... next time definetily will use then pool.
My visit was primarily to bring my fiance to the island to know more about my roots and my family.
Overall, this place is amazing and Pilar and Jorge are excellent hosts.
Thank you.

Just what us busy parents were looking for. Friendly hosts made the stay perfect. Highly recommend this property.

Quiet and relaxing
The house is a great location for people who want to be away from the touristy areas. There are plenty off good bakeries and restaurants nearby. You can get breakfast for 2 for < $15 at the bakery at the corner of the main road. They have excellent espresso and pastries, and also large breakfast platters. The owner made us breakfast for two days, but at $15 per person it didn't make sense when we could just drive to the corner. There really isn't much to do at night because the only place to sit is on the bed, and the TV is tiny. We read a lot of books. We took day trips all over the east coast, including the rainforest and several beaches. The sand on that part of the island is not white, it is a tan/brown color. If you want white sand and nightlife, stay in Condado. If you want peace and quiet and plenty of sleep, stay here!

A HIDDEN GEM!
The entire experience was excellent! Jorge and Pilar made us feel like we were staying with family. Jorge is an awesome cook and I recommend that you take advantage of it. There is an additional fee but it is so worth it. I really enjoyed having conversations with Jorge in the morning. The property is super safe. The room was extremely comfortable and clean.. Waking up and having breakfast overlooking the pool and ocean was breathtaking! You have access to the beach and it is amazing!
Ruby (their dog) is super cute and did not come near us, although I wanted to pet her. This is a great place to relax. Super quiet. We rented a car and if you plan on staying here, you will definitely need a car. El Yunque and Luquillo Beach are so close to this property.... Honestly, best getaway ever! I am looking forward to going back. I miss them already! I cannot wait to go back and stay with them.

Nice people, beautiful view and very good pool.

Lovely property
Jorge and Pilar were very accommodating. The property was lush with beautiful fruit trees and a myriad of lizards(which I really enjoyed!) It felt so good to swim in the colorfully tiled pool and watch the palm trees sway.
Yes, there was a lot of seaweed where we could access the ocean. But that did not dishearten our experience. You could easily walk to the right a few hundred yards to find a nice spot for beach time or a walk. The ocean water was so very clear and warm.

Peaceful Oasis
What a wonderful place! When you round the corner of the porch to see the view, it takes your breath away. We started every day with coffee on the porch. The room is perfect for a couple. From the porch to the pool to the beach in your backyard, it was perfect. We also loved that it was away from the hustle and bustle. It was like having your own private beach. We can’t wait to visit again!

My husband and I just had an amazing stay with Jorge and Pilar. I really can't say enough positive things. The pictures really don't do the view justice. You are literally steps from the ocean at their place. They have a large open veranda on the back of the house facing the ocean where we had breakfast every day enjoying ocean breeze and views. The water is absolutely stunning! Jorge and Pilar are both amazing chefs. Jorge made us breakfast everyday (they charge $15 per person and it's a large breakfast complete with coffee/ juice/ water)...during our stay we had pancakes, French toast, eggs and bacon as well as an omelet one day. You let him know what you like and he will likely be able to accommodate you. I don't even like pancakes but I loved Jorge's! So light and fluffy. It was very convenient to have breakfast at the house before we headed out each day you let him know what time and it will be ready but you should plan for a leisurely meal. There's not much rushing around on Puerto Rico lol ;) We also had dinner one night at the house which I would highly recommend... it was definitely a fine dining restaurant level meal. Jorge made the best rib eye my husband and I have ever had (and my husband is a total steak snob!) Dinner was complete with an amazing Malbec that Jorge recommended. The location of the villa is good. You are only about 45 minutes from Old San Juan/ airport is about 40 minutes. They are super close to El Yunique National Forest which is only about a 10-15 minute drive away. The beach out back of their house does have a lot of seaweed but that really didn't bother me much. The amount of actual beach depends on the tide level it is a pretty small amount of sand most of the time however, if you turn right facing the ocean and walk down the way there is pretty large beach not far away (probably 10-15 minute walk easy) hard to miss it.. the beach curves and turns away to the left and there is a pretty large sand beach which usually didn't have many people on it. But the water is gorgeous just step away from the villa.I would say that their place is geared towards couples or perhaps a solo traveler. The room they rent is very quiet on the front of their house with separate private entrance, but I don't see how it would accommodate more than 2 people. We had an amazing trip and are so grateful to Jorge and Pilar for sharing their amazing place! We hope to visit again in the future!

We cannot thank Jorge and Pilar enough for making this such an amazing trip. My wife and I booked our stay looking for a Seaside location with no crowds. To start, The property is amazing. The owners had it built as their retirement home and it truly is a work of art. Everything about it is designed for peace and comfort from the plants and the views, to the private access to your room. The room was immaculate and we saw both Jorge and Pilar disinfecting and cleaning a few times each day. The views, beach, and water were incredible. There was only ONE day where we saw other people on the beach, but likely due to time of year. Also, do yourself the favor and pay Jorge and apilar to cook for you. They were very reasonable and made us a few great meals! We had breakfast and dinner each day and ventured out for lunch to some of the local restaurants, Don Pepe was our favorite. The only thing remotely close to a negative would be that ride-sharing/delivery isn’t readily available in more remote areas of the island. Rent a car and you’ll be literally 10 minutes from anything you could want to do on the eastern end of PR. We will be staying with the Sastres next time we’re in Rio Grande!

I would recommend for older couple’s between the ages of 50+
So you don’t get the whole house to yourself, you get one single room with a bathroom attached, the outside is beautiful, the scenery was amazing and the beach was nice too with clear waters, I don’t recommend for younger couples, Jorge and his wife stay in the main part of the house so you have no real privacy like he says in description, he closes down the pool at 8 which was kind of a bummer

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED
I was a little hesitant at first, because it was only a room, I needed privacy! It was my honeymoon vacation! The place was beautiful, the view was great! We had Jorge prepare meals for not only us, but another couple that was staying in San Juan for a bday celebration. The meals were delicious! Jorge and Pilar were very attentive for our EVERY need! The beach was a little messy, but that had nothing to do with the host! Overall great stay, great hosts, great view, great place to relax, and everything (tourists things) is within 10mins. Thank you Jorge for a great time!

This place was terrible , Jorge told me everything was close to his home, which it wasn’t.
Jorge was a terrible host he didn’t communicate with us at all . Can not find a Uber or taxis he also didn’t tell us if we walked it was a 2 hour walk And the pool is very cold the room is very uncomfortable it’s literally infront of the house where someone can just come in and rob you, this isn’t for any young or old person. it’s at the end of the beach the place is just terrible i would never come back oh yea Jorge food is terrible! And also his room floor is disgusting like he haven’t cleaned the room in weeks i had to put the towels he gave me on the floor so my feet won’t get dirty when i got out the shower.

Can’t recommend this property highly enough. It is located right on the water and we felt that we had our own private beach. The home has a pool and a beautiful covered patio to enjoy breakfasts, dinners, and any outdoor work. The wifi is high quality and I had no problems with video calls and such. We will definitely be visiting again! Make sure to take Jorge up on his offer of cooking breakfasts and dinners. He is an incredible cook! His cooking easily rivaled the best restaurants we went to. This is an absolute diamond of a property. Safe, beautiful, peaceful, and the hosts are fantastic.
