About this apartment rental
Lovely 2-story, 1BR apartment located in the South Clintonville/North University District area, minutes from OSU or downtown. It overlooks the Glen Echo Ravine, is comfortably furnished, and is ideal for a single or couple who are visiting Columbus.
The apartment entrance is behind a 2-car garage and has an entry deck and covered entry porch. The space is on two levels, with an eat-in kitchen on the entry level, and a living room, bedroom, and bath on the upper level. The kitchen space and the living room space both have wonderful views of the ravine greenery with its many birds and other wildlife. The kitchen level has easy access to the entry deck that also overlooks the ravine and has seating so you can relax outdoors.
The eat-in kitchen has a 24” electric stove, a bottom-freezer refrigerator, a microwave, and generous counter and cabinet space. It’s fully supplied with dishes, pans, and silverware, and has a toaster and a drip coffee maker. There is a stacked washer-dryer unit nearby in a small closet with a louvered door.
The apartment has a private patio space outside the kitchen door, where you can enjoy fresh air and the sounds of nature. The eat-in kitchen is furnished with a 2’x5’ table with seating for five, and it has a small sofa bench under a large picture window. There is a wall-mounted 28” smart TV which can be watched while seated at the table or seated on the bench or standing in the kitchen. Occasional soft sounds from an adjacent apartment may be heard in the kitchen area.
Upstairs there is a living room with sofa, arm chairs, coffee table, 40” TV, and desk: a bedroom with a queen-sized bed; and a bathroom with a shower/tub. The floors are hardwood, except for the bedroom and stairs which are carpeted, and the bath that is tiled. Linens are provided for the bedroom, bath, and kitchen.
The apartment has central AC and gas heating, and has Cable and wireless internet service. There is a no-smoking/no-pet rental policy, but it is not suitable for people with pet allergies because of the presence of cats in an adjacent apartment in years past.
There is one assigned off-street parking space. Additional on-street parking is available in front of the building except between the hours of 4-6pm on weekdays. During those hours, on-street parking is available on the opposite side of the street. The apartment is located on Indianola Avenue which is a busy street, especially during morning and evening rush hours. The original metal casement windows were replaced with Pella triple-pane windows in 2022, so the apartment remains relatively quiet despite the traffic noise in front.
I am retired from OSU and I live next door to this apartment, so I am available to solve any problems pretty quickly (unless I am out of town).
This is a wonderful neighborhood with a mix of rental units and private residences. There is a ravine park within easy walking distance and an assortment of shops and restaurants on Indianola. It’s a quick drive to High Street and its many shops (including a Giant Eagle supermarket and a CVS pharmacy), and access to either the I-71 or the 315 freeway is quite close.
A city bus line runs in front of the building. It travels primarily south and north and will easily get you to downtown or to Worthington, with transfers available to other directions. An OSU bus line runs just south of the apartment with a stop about 4 blocks away, at Clinton and Indianola.
Please refrain from loud or boisterous behavior inside the apartment, particularly between the hours of 11pm and 7am, . Guest visitors (3 or 4 max) are welcome for short periods (e.g. for a meal, coffee, movie, conversation, etc.) but they should depart by 11pm. Guest visitors should park on the street and should not bring pets.

Every one of my friends and relatives who saw this sweet little house agreed that it was, indeed, a "find". Spotlessly clean, it had the most beautifully organized holiday home kitchen I've ever used. The drawers and cupboards were labelled and contained anything both basic and particular that one would not want to rush out for at the grocery store. The bed was very comfortable, the bath sparkling, the upstairs sitting room a haven. The big windows looking out upon the wooded ravine were delightful and I photographed a cardinal. Nancy was gracious, friendly and informative. My only inconvenience was that I knocked on her door (as suggested) because I needed to borrow a scales to weigh a heavy bag, but I couldn't reach her or her husband that way. Where I come from in England one doesn't just "knock people up", so I felt slightly embarrassed I might have disturbed them and I would certainly love to borrow this pretty little place again in the future, if possible.

Although an older duplex the accommodations were warm and inviting. Sort of like visiting Grandma. The ravine the patio looks over was better than expected with ready access to explore. The neighborhood is lovely to walk and restaurants and grocery stores close by. Easy access to the freeway! The kitchen contained everything a person needs for cooking a full meal or more and the furniture was comfy. The kitchen window looking out over the ravine was a plus!! When in Columbus again we'll be sure to book our stay here.

I came to ohio for a trip with my GF. Nancy made it a great trip she was great to work with welcoming us as soon as we arived giving a detailed rundown of the house and where appliances, and stores were. She had a little recommended location map on the fridge that was helpful. I would recommend giving her property a try.

Excellent Stay
The duplex we stayed in was very clean and close to everything Columbus has to offer. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. I would definitely stay here again!

A cozy haven
Nancy’s apartment was the perfect place for our visit to Columbus. After a day of grimey clearing out of a storage unit, it provided a peaceful & cozy retreat. The ravine views were like sitting in a tree house. Everything I could have needed was in its logical place. Nancy was most cordial and accommodating. Going back in about 6-7 months.

Kitchen amenities
We came to Columbus for Thanksgiving with our daughter and her family. I didn't see this in other reviews, so I'll mention it here: the kitchen is has been updated with new cabinetry and countertops. It is tidy, spacious, and very well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, mixers, knives, flatware & dishes, Pyrex and Tupperware stuff - most anything one might need to prepare a full meal. We cooked a 13 lb turkey in the oven, along with a casserole and pie. No problem! Kudos to Nancy for seeing to the details.

Convenient and private
Very comfortable two-level apartment. Convenient location not far from campus and the highway.

Lovely and adorable place!
This is a lovely and adorable place with charm and character...it has everything you need. It was also very clean and cozy too...Nancy is friendly, helpful and yet completely non interfering....its also a very good location and very accessible....the only issue is the street noise is very, very loud - the house is on a main road and the windows are old so you hear everything from the outside in the busy city and the train nearby...but other than that, you will LOVE it!

Our second stay in this charmer!
This is a lovely little apartment. Old fashioned, but clean and nicely appointed. It has everything we needed. I stayed here two years ago on another trip to Columbus. My wife joined me this time, and she loved it as much as I did. Nancy, the owner, is a delight to work with.

EVERYTHING about this property is exactly as pictured. It was spotlessly clean,!!
We arrived for a four night stay to the property to happily find it as comfortably and beautifully as described. The owner has a well stocked kitchen and the view from the deck was a great way to start the morning! The location was great for our children’s graduations and our visit could not have been more perfect! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to other parents visiting their children at the University. The host was so accommodating- and really enhanced the experience.

If you know Columbus then you know this is a great find.
Perfect space to enjoy your visit to Columbus, charming and private, close to everything that makes the city tick yet removed from the hustle and bustle of it all. Nancy, the owner, was very friendly, welcoming and non-intrusive, we couldn't have picked a better spot. Thanks again!

Comfortable and Quaint
Our boys attend OSU. We were visiting for the weekend and found this perfect for us. The kitchen is adequate to prepare a meal. It provided a great place to relax and be together as a family. I would recommend this to parents visiting their student(s). Thank you.

Great place, would definitely come back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the accommodations were great. While there is some street noise it did not rise to level of disrupting our sleep or general comfort in any way. Nancy is a delight!

Perfect Trip
This is the second time we rented with Nancy. Everything was as promised and more than satisfactory. We would recommend this apartment to anyone who requested information. Access to interstate is close by as are grocery and a variety of restaurants. Thank you Nancy.

Ideal apartment for a visit to Columbus and OSU
Cannot say enough about Nancy's apartment in Clintonville. Ideal location for a visit to Columbus and The Ohio State University. In for a weekend to see our daughter play soccer. Why didn't we stay here sooner?! No brainer v hotel living for a weekend. Apartment had more than everything we needed. Off street parking is a big plus. No $30 a night valet fees here. Wish we were not so on the go this trip. Didn't get a chance to use the well appointed kitchen. Yes, there is a bit of road noise, but Nancy's addition of a sound machine in the bedroom was just the right touch. Fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. Washer and dryer are a huge bonus. Love going home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. Will definitely make and effort to stay here again. Thank you Nancy for your hospitality.

A comfortable place in a living neighborhood
Every need considered in furnishing this apartment and every (crazy) question answered speedily and in good humor! A welcome retreat from conferenceland. Thank you, Nancy.

Good size and location
Upon approach, the front of the building is a little sketchy, but go around the corner to the rental and there is a nicely shaded patio and woods. Inside the kitchen area is very clean and roomy with all the things needed if you were to prepare a meal. All cupboards are marked with the contents so no needless searching. The upstairs has a very comfortable bedroom, sitting room and bath. Everything was very clean and tidy. It happened to be very hot while we were there, but the central AC and the fans kept things very nice.
It is located very close to the campus and we were able to get into town with ease. Several newer restaurants in the area, many within walking distance.
Very nice experience and would return if in the area.

A Quaint Gem in Columbus
I was on a business trip to Columbus, and this apartment was perfect for me. Not fancy, but very quaint, comfortable and well equipped. Nancy, the owner, lives next door was very responsive. If I ever go to Columbus again I will definitely try to stay here.

AWESOME!
Very quaint and comfortable with everything you'll need for a great visit to Columbus. Very close to the OSU campus, MAPFRE stadium and downtown. Nancy was a great host. We were in town for OSU graduation and found this the perfect place for a base location for all we wanted to do.

Cozy, comfortable, and perfectly located
My daughter and I stayed for a week at Nancy's adorable apartment and enjoyed it thoroughly. Decorated with love and stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, cooking accoutrements (even a spice rack!), an easily accessibly washer/drier, and more, the apartment was wonderful. I know an earlier poster mentioned road noise and thin walls, but as someone who has travelled a lot to columbus in the past year I can attest that that is de rigueur for houses near campus as they are mostly older. If that's not your style, stay farther out in a generic condo or in a hotel. The owner is incredibly accommodating and friendly without being intrusive. The view from the large picture window off the kitchen is beautiful, and we enjoyed the birds, squirrels, and even a glimpse of a rotund possum. The apartment is less than a mile from a Giant Eagle, close to an entrance to 71, a short drive to campus and downtown, and in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It is a fantastic value IMO.

Cute but noisy
The apartment was exactly what we needed, being close to where we were visiting. It was cute and well apointed. The water in the bathroom was slow which made it hard to get a good shower. Walls and windows were not insulated so it was quite noisy and chilly. The owner was great about making sure we knew everything about the place when we got there. Nothing special but adequate.

it had everything
Great place. It had everything you would possibly need.

Cute place with a very accomodating renter
The place was adorable and the renter was very nice and accommodating. The only downside was that it was somewhat far away from downtown Columbus so we had to take ubers for most of our trip which can be costly. I would recommend to anyone renting a car!
