Wow. This is the finest unit in the Mauna Loa Shores. Fully renovated, with all the finest amenities and beautiful tastefully designed to maximize this fantastic condo. The best unobstructed view from the Bedroom overlooking the Blue Pacific, and the Lanai. You will absolutely love this new offering. Everything is brand new. High ceilings in Penthouse, with full of light and cool breezes with the best air circulation. Custom kitchen, everything you need to make your stay in Hawaii and our Big Island memorable. Same owners as 710 which has been the ultimate destination for many a year. NOW we offer 706. 2 brm 1 bth. My 46 years as a resident and 43 years as a Realtor will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the finest Big Island experience possible.
The Mauna Loa Shores is right next to Carlsmith Beach Park which has fantastic swimming and snorkeling. Usually you will always swim with the sea turtles, EZ access protected reef. The beach park itself is lawn with huge shade trees (monkey pod). Absolutely the place to stay in Hilo. The Mauna Loa Shores has its own swimming pool too, 2 elevators, laundry room on each floor.
East Hawaii side is authentic Hilo, not overbuilt like Oahu or Maui, truly you will fall in love with Hilo as the owners have. Our Big Island has it all, every climate and terrain, eco-tourism at is best with volcano watching, hiking, beautiful tropical gardens, ocean activities, swimming, snorkeling, and most of all relaxing. Away from the hustle and bustle and traffic of Oahu, Maui, Kona.... Hilo side is truly paradise. Book with me and you will see and agree.

If you are looking for a vacation rental in the Hilo area, look no further! The penthouse at the Mauna Loa Shores has a breathtaking view of one of the best swimming beaches on the Big Island- Carlsmith Park, and is super convenient to both downtown Old Hilo and all the supermarkets and stores in the shopping malls along the Hawaii Belt road. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. When we visit Hilo in the future we will definitely make this place our home away from home!

We stayed in this wonderful condo and absolutely loved it. The views of the water are so tranquil. It’s one of those vacation stays where you don’t need to leave the immediate area to enjoy yourself.
My husband and I are in our 70’s and there was plenty to keep you busy within walking distance of the condo. I can’t think of one negative thing to report about the decor or ease of living in this space.
My recommendation is stay as long as you can, except for the dates we want to come! Have fun!

Lovely accommodation; comfortable, beautifully decorated with everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Hilo. Location is very good- secluded, yet close enough to restaurants, shopping, National Park, etc. the view from the lanai and proximity to the protected beach was amazing.

The rental was super clean and easy to access. The bed was comfy and the kitchen has everything you need. The views from the patio and one bedroom are incredible. It overlooks Carlsmith beach which is a sheltered and calm location to snorkel and see bright little fish and green sea turtles. We would definitely stay here again.

This top floor unit in an older building is nicely remodeled and comfortable. It has a great view of the ocean/lagoon from the balcony and large bedroom window. We appreciated the tips/things to do and use of the Hawaii guidebook.

We really enjoyed our stay. You don't need AC with the breezes. Lovely view, perfectly stocked little kitchen. Short drive into HILO for farmers market fresh stuff! Super comfy bed! Next to a park as well. Lovely.

The mirrors are brilliant! And the kitchen is perfect in every way. We couldn't get enough of the view of the tidepools!
It was fun watching the cat lady feeding the feral cat family every evening!

We had a fantastic stay! The location was awesome, literally next door to Carlsmith Beach, our favorite in Hilo. The condo was bright, clean, well-stocked, and the use of mirrors on the walls really expanded the space, so you had an ocean view no matter where you looked. Screens on the doors and windows meant there was always a cross breeze, helping you beat the famous Hilo humidity! We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon!

Hi. This is a nice condo on the 7th floor of a building next to Carlsmith beach park. So one can walk to Carlsmith for swiming or snorkeling in just a couple minutes. There is also a pool which we used and this was very clean and comfortable.

Loved the view and location. Condo was very well equipped for cooking, beaches, literally they thought of everything. Highly recommend. Easy access to volcanos, waterfalls and black sand beaches.

We spent a week (after arriving in rain - Hi, Hilo! ) and really enjoyed our stay. The snorkeller was out enjoying the lagoon adjacent the block, thanks to in-house mask and flippers, and the well-equipped condo kept the non-paddlers happy.
Less than an hours' drive to main Hilo-side attractions (volcanoes, blacksand beaches etc.), and far enough from main drags to avoid traffic noise.

We had an amazing time staying here. The amenities were excellent - everything you could need. The view form the bedroom was stunning, and the beach is a 30 second walk from the building. The overhead fans and breeze provide all the cooling you could need and there were lots of handy pamphlets for things to do. Would 100% stay here again.

Extended stay for 5 weeks that was more than expected. The location was beyond compare and did not disappoint with the dynamic view and activity in the sea and sky. Watching ships and paddlers, humpback whales and dolphins, and families at the adjacent Carl Smith park all from the comfort of the lanai will never be forgotten. Swimming, snorkeling seeing many fish and turtles was a delight. Walkable area with several other adjacent parks that were well explored and frequently visited.
The condo was very comfortable with its well chosen furnishing and decor quickly became home. The kitchen was one of the best if not the best ever we have had in a rental. Well stocked. Remarkable refrigerator and numerous small appliances, dishes, drink ware, puts and pans and storage containers make it a cooks delight. Wanted only for a hand mixer and a couple cookies racks. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and the view of sea and sky from bed will always be a strong memory. Being on the 7th floor with high ceilings was an added bonus. Terry the property manager was very responsive with a small problem, neighbors were friendly and Mauna Loa Shores handyman Orton was very personable and worked hard to keep the facility functioning and clean. Would return and will probably do so if given the opportunity.

Our first time in Hawaii was marked by perfect weather, an effective property manager and a very nice property with a view that required exhalations of awe and wonder. And that's said from a couple who live on the Emerald Coast on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida.

This property was located enough out of the way to be a peaceful retreat, but covert close to Hilo for anything we needed in town.
The unit itself was great with all we needed. Appliances, etc. met our needs.
The owner gave us more suggestions than I ever thought we could do, but we squeezed most of them in.
There are many local parks and beaches in walking distance with picnic areas and grills. We saw a sea turtle just behind the property the first day we arrived. I am not usually a botanical gardens type of guys, but the nearby garden is a must see! Volcanoes National Park is a 30 minute drive and we’ll worth the time.
If you go to the opposite side of the island, two steps beach is great for snorkeling and the night Mana Ray tour is a great experience.
We are considering returning next year with our adult children.

Million $$ View!
Every rental needs a good view an this one exceeded iin everyway. Views from LR a d bedroom (even the king size bed)) Hilo is more rural so not aloot of choice for restaurants, however the kitchen was well eqipped. Plus, Walmrt, Target, Safeway and other grocers were closeby. Even a mall was nearby, which was a pleasant surprise. No AC but didn't need it ffor the 30days we were there. Owners and managers were very easy to dealith. We traveled the entire time to arks and beaches or sight seeing and picnicking. There are 4 State Beach Parks with gorgeous views within a mile. Of course our favorite was in our backyard with sea turtles sunbathing, families and children enjoying the unique lagoon.
It rained in the morning two times in a month. Most rain came in late evening!
This rental, had basic amenities, building was a bit worn, pool was uninviting, and still hands down, was one of our all time favorites for a unique, low-key, affordable vacation.

A walk next door puts you in a beautiful park setting with easy ocean access. Turtles were in the lagoon also. Condo was clean, convenient, and quiet. Great restaurant across the street.
