The staff were friendly and attentive.
Our room was spacious and the spa bath tub was a bonus. Lovely clean room, couldn't ask for more thank you.

Great Room very good staff good food
4.1
The bar and reception area was really nice and the staff were lovely. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, no loud banging or people walking past which was pleasant.
The bathroom was very dated, took a long time for the shower to heat up. The tv wasn’t the best but unsure if this was the signal from the remote or the tv itself. When sleeping, the lights from the main hallway were very bright and in direct eye line of the head of the bed making it difficult to sleep.
4.1
Small mini bar in the room is handy.
Nice views and location.
Lovely old style building.
Our room had a gap all around the door, so there was a real noticeable draft. The fun of using the spare duvet to try and block the draft off, along with luggage and old pillows.
The toilet seat hinge was broken on the left side.
No toilet water pressure so you couldn't flush anything down properly.
A few cobwebs lurking in corners and dust
Staines on carpets. Would have appreciated some carpet stain remover before we checked in.
For the price point it just was not good value for money. £149.00 is completely acceptable if the standard matches the beautiful location and grand building.
Sadly a pubic hair on the quilt as we first arrived to greet us with a smile. Eeek.
Also, the car parks get really busy so you can find yourself in the field. Was a bit worried about being able to exit if it was rainy ( ie: spinning wheels)... So kept my eye out for a space to open up in the main concrete area.
Not for us.....sorry.

Lovely period, Cotswolds property
The amount of old people that complained over nothing to the poor receptionist

had a Gorgeous room with a wonderful view thanks to Claire the receptionist. She also let me store a Wedding cake which had traveled with us for a wedding the next day which was exceptionally helpful. The Bar staff were very friendly and gave good advice about the area and taxi services etc , Breakfast was sooo good and although it was busy Jackie was really attentive and so polite and helpful . Will definitely go back and will make sure we book into the restaurant next time!

The location is excellent- on the hill very tranquil and full of period characters. much attention is paid to details and effortless charm spotted every now and then - which are increasingly rare to find these days. This place has got character- not eager to please but you know you are looked after. We will definitely return.
The Tara restaurant- food is excellent. service are attentive, but there was no table cloth (for dinner) and the table lamp( or maybe tea light?) was not lit which was a disappointment.

The staff were amazing and a credit to the hotel
But the bathroom in the standard room really could do with updating and the carpet in the hall on the first floor is about past it’s sell by date. The cleaners left out door open but nothing was touched.

location
bathroom was dangerous shaving socket right next to shower head deep step into bath , no slip mats or rail to hold onto no shower curtain glass shelf right next to stepping into bath

Nice venue, bar was very nice.
room wasn’t the best. wear and tear marks all over the room. Breakfast should be included with the price I paid.
Trying to be something there not.
Food was just ok, expensive but it is what it is.

The location is lovely with great views from our room across the severn valley. We had our own balcony although the weather was not very good so we did not spend much time out there. In summer it would have been amazing. The room was large and very clean with a splendid en-suite with a shower over a jacuzzi bath.
The ceiling is cracked and could do with repairing. Other than that we could find no faults.
4.1
Breakfast was good. Room Comfortable. The overall ambiance was goos=d from the grounds to the facilities.
The facilities for tea making were poor. For a good hotel why be seen to be "money pinching" by only having 3 tea bags and 4 sticks if sugar in the box. Surely it is not that expensive BUT it would give the visitors a feeling that you care.
4.1
Lovely hotel, great room and very friendly staff.
4.1
The bathroom was very dated with a loo that didn’t flush properly, a shower at a very low and unadjustable height so you had to squat beneath to wash your hair and a dirty shower curtain. The room was quite cramped.
4.1
Shower was cramped and access did not feel as secure as one would like.
4.1
Miserable and rather off hand receptionist. No one on reception at 7.30 am on check out to provide copy of the bill.

Welcoming staff, nice bar, good restaurant. Period property.
Difficult to contact. Phone not answered and no one responded to the answerphone message I left when I tried to contact the hotel before arriving to book a table in the restaurant as the online book said the restaurant was unavailable.

Lovely staff, attentive, friendly and welcoming!
Bar area and out door terrace was very nice. We sat playing cards in the evening.
Had two meals, the Sunday roast which was lovely and fish and chips. All a good standard. Breakfast only had on the first day, nice, but as any hotel breakfast expensive at £15 each for a full English. I would have had breakfast if there had been other options at other prices and not a flat rate.
Room not in main hotel and dated. Paid extra for the spa bath, dirty looking and old.
Shame, as replacing the bathroom, larger TV and the carpet in the corridor, would give the place a modern feel. My first impression wasn't great when entering the room, but the rest of the hotel was lovely.
Tried to order bar snacks in the evening, but only crisps and nuts available even when restaurant was open. Would have been nice to have tapas style olives etc to order.
4.1
Food really good, my room was in the main building and was a good size, clean and comfortable.
The breakfast room service was pretty hit and miss. twice I had ordered but nothing delivered, once coffee pot arrived empty and another time no coffee arrived at all.

Check in
A bulb in the bathroom needed replacing, the radiator had a loose panel. The hairdryer stopped working and the kettle worked spasmodically.
4.1
Location was good - view south of M5 & more. Some staff helpful.
Maintenance always an issue in hotels. Room paint cracked & peeling in places. Gimmick jacuzzi looked tired and uninviting. Wedding guests seemed to have a bad parking contest Sat night so we parked in a field.
