Excellent welcome on arrival, secure parking included onsite, great restaurant with varied menu, quick service, friendly ambience with music on weekends. Great to see Management on site for the personal touch. Superb newly renovated super room. Adored the huge shower in bathroom, bottled water, ease of reservation. Location fabulous and close to Japanese Gardens, National Stud, Shopping Village outlets as well as St Brigids church, well and other ecclesiastical venues. Easy to assess off motorway. Near Newbridge also brilliant tour at Silver works. Style Icons upstairs a treat for movie buffs and free.
Saying goodbye !

This is fabulous accommodation. Exceptionally clean large bedroom and bathroom lovely decor! Parking was gated at the rear of the property. Little interaction with staff but when I did they were very pleasant and extremely helpful. Didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend.

Great for a group of people travelling together such as us - on main street in Kildare which is fantastic. The rooms were nicely appointed with all the necessities required and very clean. Pub and restaurant also very good
Car park access and egress could have been better - barrier was malfunctioning

Accueil très chaleureux ! Tout y est, la gentillesse, le confort, la propreté, la localisation. Une très bonne adresse, tant pour dormir que pour y prendre un repas.

This is absolutely one of our favourite hotels we have stayed in on our trip so far. The staff were fabulous, the room was gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious. Served on hot plates too which is a treat. Would definitely recommend to anyone 😃

Great value, wonderful staff, beautiful room, fabulous food - dinner and breakfast, ideal location, very friendly people in the town
Arrived too late and left too early to take full advantage. Would have liked softer pillows.

The food at dinner was excellent, The room was finished to a high standard and the staff were friendly and engaging.
The bed and pillows were the most uncomfortable we've ever experienced. For this reason only, we'd never go back. We got up on Sunday morning exhausted, and went for a very mediocre breakfast that didn't come close the the excellent evening food.

We stayed in a beautiful large room in the townhouse.
It was warm and cozy and spotlessly clean. The Rituals toiletries were an impressive touch.

Rooms were across the road from the main pub and although on the main road through Kildare there wasn’t any traffic or other noise during the night. Although it was stated parking was first come, first served there were plenty of spaces. We didn’t stay for breakfast.

Everything. It was very close to the Kikdare Village which my friend and i loved. The accommodation was great and although the rooms were across the courtyard, it was lovely and quite. The food in the restaurant was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would diffiantly use the Silken Thomas again.
The shower as it was a wet room. There didn't appear to be a fan to take the steam away, so every where in the bathroom steamed up. Other than that. Everything was fine.

We were very impressed with the outside of the property, and the restaurant looked amazing. We received a very warm welcome and were taken to our room which had been upgraded. It’s very new, beautifully decorated, comfy bed, and lovely linens. We felt that our car was safe in the secured and private parking area and enjoyed a few nice walks in the evening. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try the restaurant and were sorry that we had to leave so early. We would’ve liked to have stayed longer. A very special thank you to Beata for her welcome and information provided.

I wanted somewhere to stay that would enable me to get the train to various parts of Ireland. Kildare was a good starting point for trips to Cork and Waterford,. and it was a little cheaper than staying in Dublin.
The Silkin Thomas was an eight-minute walk from Kildare railway station and easy to find.
The quality of the food was very high, both the breakfast and evening meal.
I was surprised to find that neither BBC One not BBC Two were available on the television, which did have quite a lot of channels (many American ones, it seems). It wasn't a serious problem as I only wanted it for an hour or so.
Kildare is very much a car-based town, with the roads being very busy. A pity that the train service is not more frequent. I suspect that I was the only person staying there who arrived by train. There were no signs to the railway station (or even to the town from the station), but I had planned my trip so the lack of info was not an issue.

They gave us a huge room, very comfortable, amazing bed and with a huge bathroom. The restaurant and bar staff are the best, very kind and helpful.
The staff at the front desk was not too friendly, we think that because they have to take care of the restaurant front desk and the hotel it might be a bit too stressful.
The room they gave us had a very bad smell coming from the pipes and from outside, a very bad septic smell. During the check in tour I mentioned it to the staff that got us in and he said there was no smell (3 from 4 people standing in the same room could smell it but he said there was no smell), then before leaving he said "If the smell makes you uncomfortable call us and we will fix it", we had to leave as we had an appointment and by the time we came back to the room it was already too late and we decided just sleep by covering our noses. To be honest we felt very disappointed and like fools to get a room that big and "comfortable" with that nasty septic smell (like how can anyone put guests through that and pretend like nothing is happening and its all good).

The noise of the accommodation staff the next morning was quite annoying they were on the room next to us hammering on something or another this was a down side if you wanted a lie in on a Sunday morning

The location was fantastic, close to Kildare village and central in the town. The staff were lovely and couldn't have done enough to help and the food/bar area was modern and clean. The singer in the bar was brilliant.
