The hotel is situated in an excellent location right in the centre of historic Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa within the pedestrian-only town walls. Free parking is on the outer side but within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly, efficient and approachable. Mar on Reception was very helpful. Andrea, also on Reception, and particularly Diego went over and above to help my husband. He wasn't well and they made huge efforts to phone and organise for him to visit out of hours a doctor who came specially to the town clinic. Diego even took us there in his time off. The hotel itself is traditional in decor and the restaurant quite formal in appearance but the waiting staff were friendly. Breakfast offered good coffee and the usual choice of eggs cooked to order, cold meats, pastries and juice. There is a wine bar for drinks and pintxos in the cellar of the hotel and guests are offered on arrival a token for a free drink and pintxos one evening. There is also a welcoming bar and seating area in the front reception as well as tables outside. With no traffic the area is good for sitting with drinks or a meal enjoying the atmosphere and watching the passers-by. The rooms are large and traditional but the shower area is attractive, modern and clean with great water pressure. We had a room facing the covered inner courtyard which was very quiet and the bed very comfortable.
The dining room was comfortable but a little too formal. For the first evening we had booked to eat dinner but hadn't realised that we could have eaten outside which would have been preferable.

Excellent location, in a beautiful, unique setting. Staff were friendly and helpful and food in the restaurant was very good.
The room was cramped and very dark. It faced a small internal courtyard with no natural light and was painted dark blue. Some might find it quirky but we found it depressing.

Location, very helpful friendly staff, fabulous wine cave.
No natural light in bedroom. No opening windows as overlooked indoor courtyard.

Location in Laguardia was good; the breakfast.
Parking was OK, but no explanation given re: where to offload luggage, despite sending a request for information. No help offered when we arrived. It's fairly straightforward. Park your car in one of the car parks, work out the nearest entry gate, go back and get your car then park as close as you can (on the pavement worked for us) and unload. Then take the car back to the car park. The staff were not really interested. The restaurant was OK, but played music far too loud morning and evening. We stayed for 3 nights. You can see all there is to see in Laguardia in 90 minutes. It's OK as a base. Don't miss Logrono.

The underground wine cave was very nice.
The service was very bad. I sent an email before booking asking if they had vegetarian options for my husband and they said they had plenty and when we arrived they said we could have sliced tomatoes with onions… we were very hungry and couldn’t eat anything. And there was a used toothbrush in the sink of the room when we arrived.

the beds were rather bad. we have been traveling in Spain for 2 weeks and we’re very impressed with the quality of sleep we had everywhere but in this hotel. my back was hurting after a one night sleep and we were there for 3 nights! I suggest that it’s time to change the mattresses.

Location was perfect.
Not good value for money. Old fashioned, weird decor
No shower in room, just a jacuzzi bath
Room stank of cigarette smoke
Horrible plastic plants and garish decor everywhere. Dark everywhere
Expensive for a 3 star!

We had 5 fabulous nights at this Boutique Hotel, located on the main plaza in the beautiful town of Laguardia.
We were there over a fiesta weekend - Le Virgen - and were able to watch the festivities, including the bull run from the balcony of our room.
Everything about our stay was a 10: room, cleanliness, food, staff, location. We could walk and do a short drive to many of the bodegas in the area, great tapas restaurants and bars.
Laguardia and Hospederia de los Parajes have been the highlight of our month long trip in Spain. Can't wait to visit again!

The location was very nice, and the restaurant was amazing.

The hotel is in the charming small hilltop town of Laguardia. It feels like a "lived in " village, not just a tourist attraction. There are restaurants and shops around the hotel. There is no parking at the hotel as it is inside the old wall of the city. However, there is convenient parking close to the hotel. Since the town is on top of a hill, there are many view points that overlook the Rioja valley. The has a very nice breakfast which was helpful before a day of wine tasting. It is an easy drive to many wine bodegas nearby .

Beautiful property in the center of La Guardia. Room was an interior room which didn't have too much natural light but was charming considering the property was part of a village from the 12th century inside a castle. We were close to all the town had to offer including restaurants, wineries, beautiful surrounding villages and the amazing gothic Church of San Juan. Daily breakfast was wonderful with fresh breads, fruits, ham and cheese plates and omelettes. Service was super friendly and professional. I recommend dinner on the property our servers were extremely knowledgeable with wine pairings and the food was outstanding
The staff that cleaned the rooms could have done a better job. I continually had to ask for soap and shampoo they were very small bottles. Bed cover was basically just thrown over the sheets in the morning and towels weren't changed out unless I specifically asked. This just might be the hotel's policy though

Location in the heart of La Guardia was excellent. The hotel was very pleasant and an excellent value for the price. I enjoyed the opportunity to visit the underground bodega as part of the stay.
Being an older facility, the rooms were a bit dark.

Beautiful property in the old town . The service and the staff were exceptional .

The staff were very helpful, especially over changing our room to get away from the noise of the fiesta and giving us access to the balconies to watch the bull runs. The location was very central. The building had great character: we really liked the wine bar in the cellars. Breakfast was very good. The walk in shower of the room moved to was fantastic. It was good to have a car parking place.
We made a mistake in booking a room at the front of the hotel with the fiesta on. (Very noisy.) But the staff were very helpful in moving us to a much quieter (and cheaper) room at the back. It was a five minute walk to the car park. That was OK, but the hotel only had one key which complicated access.
