Casa Vela is an exquisite luxury villa located on the north end of Sayulita overlooking the ocean, jungle and village. This unique house is a fusion of traditional Mexico and open-air beach living. The warm yellow walls and Saltillo tile floors invite you to sink in and relax with the ocean breeze and sounds of the crashing waves.
When you walk through the front door you are greeted by an expansive view of Sayulita’s bay and the beach that is only a short walk down the cobblestone street. The open Palapa living room is the perfect place to relax with family and friends, lounge by the infinity pool with a cold cerveza, watch the game on the tv, nap on the shaded outdoor sun bed, or shoot some pool on the championship pool table! You can check out the surf, watch the whales spout and the dolphins play from just about every room in the house as well.
The fully stocked kitchen with 15 ft. bar has everything you will need to create wonderful meals from the fresh local ingredients. Hand crafted copper sinks, Talavera tile and a commercial oven add to the rustic charm of this beautiful kitchen. In the adjacent Palapa dining area you will find a table for 10 and built in gas barbeque where you can grill up and serve the “catch of the day” from the fisherman of the village. At your request, a personal cook can be arranged to prepare Mexican delicacies for you.
From each bedroom you will awake from a restful night’s sleep to see the ocean stretching out in front of you. Brand new, comfortable mattresses and pillows, high quality linens and towels add to the luxury of this tropical retreat. The property is amazing with a great view of the bay, especially from the living room area. The property manager, Gabe, is super helpful and considerate. I would definitely recommend booking golf carts as the house is on a hill and a bit out of town. Also they are super fun to rip around.

What an incredible stay at Casa Vela. I stayed here with 10 of my friends for my bachelor party and it was the perfect place for a large group. Gabriel helped us set uo everything we need. Boats, carts, chef’s you name it he was on the spot. The staff were amazing and so attentive to every detail. What a perfect house for a large group! We had 10+ people stay here and several people even got their own rooms. The indoor/outdoor nature of the house was amazing. We also had a private yoga instructor come and run a class in the beautiful new level.

I spend hours upon hours reading reviews of properties before I book them and I am here to tell you this is hands down better than not only the reviews but the pictures! The decor is beyond any rental I have ever stayed in and the housekeepers that come everyday keep it spotlessly clean. Gabriel is so helpful and always there to help in anyway. He had our golf carts waiting for us at the villa (a must to get around Sayulita), arranged drivers to and from the airport and responded quickly to our every need. If you are traveling with other couples, the layout is perfect. Every bedroom is ensuite - many on different levels - with refrigerators and a jug of purified drinking water. The only thing to note is in the 2 bedroom casita you have to pass through the shared bathroom to get to the 2nd bedroom. Not a big deal if you are family but if you are traveling with other couples and need the 6th bedroom it would be a little awkward. We scheduled 2 nights with local private chefs - lots of fun, delicious and certainly worth doing. For the best tacos in town you must eat at Il Itacate and get the arrachera tacos!!! All and all it was a great trip to Sayulita but Casa Vela made it amazing!!! We would all go back in a hearbeat!

The house is gorgeous. Each room is unique, with beautiful art work. Incredible view. There is not a 2nd pool, in its place is a wonderful yoga/event room.

Amazing view, great overall accommodations. A couple of things we wish we would have known. 1) In the upstairs apartment not much privacy as it is a walk through bathroom between bedrooms, basically one of the bedrooms is the livingroom. 2) The pool was ice cold and would benefit from some sort of solar heater, this was really the main “issue” with the house. Not a problem overall as the place was amazing but it was disappointing. 3) The pictures on the listing need to be updated as the pool area downstairs has been converted to a dance floor. Actually this was a bonus as we definitely used that space however the listing still shows pictures of 2 pools.

Property, views rooms it was all a very positive experience that we would do again. Our host Gabriel was very attentive and met all of our needs and requirements. Our golf cart ran out of juice and they personally went to retrieve it and take care of it. They really didn't outstanding job.

Went for my 40th birthday party with friends and it was a perfect experience! Gabriel was there to welcome us and give us a full rundown of the house. The whole place was run as well as a hotel.
Highly recommend renting golf carts as the hill is quite steep to walk up daily plus the golf carts definitely made the experience!

Casa Vela was perfect for my parents' 55th wedding anniversary celebration over one week in late June. There were 13 of us - ages 6 to 82. Gabriel and the Casa Vela staff made our stay incredibly special.
We decided to eat all our meals at the house. Table time proved to be the best family time during our week stay. The meals were great and were designed to meet our tastes and personal suggestions.
The air-conditioned bedrooms met all of our needs from couples to grandchildren. The pool overlooking Sayulita and the beach and jungle was used non-stop and made being together easy and fun for everyone.
The golf carts are a must and were a big hit for visiting Sayulita. We all had a blast!!
We celebrated my parents' 55th wedding anniversary two nights before we left and the Casa Vela staff made it unforgettable. Gabriel made all the arrangements and everything was perfect.
Sunsets at Casa Vela are not-to-be-missed and the views across Sayulita to the west are truly incredible.
We are all so grateful for the week we had together in this beautiful house in this lovely town in this amazing country.

Good Times
This villa is unique and provided a separate rooms for each of our 6 couple with a meeting place up top. It’s beautiful but what makes this completely memorable is Gabriel and his wife Connie. They keep the place clean to perfection and we highly recommend you have them cook your breakfast and at least one dinner if not all of them you will not be disappointed. They are absolutely fabulous and the food was perfect.

We arrived and Gabriel showed us around the beautiful property. The view is something to be seen! The vegetation is amazing and fits in with all the landscape. The kitchen area is perfect for gathering and cooking. Everything was perfect. We can't wait to get back!

Wonderful Property
We were 4 couples and had more than enough room for everyone. The open palapa was so serene. Watching the sunset from the infinity pool was one of the days highlights. Definitely would recommend to anyone thinking of staying there to go for it. Up a very steep hill and half our crew walked it and the other half rented a golf cart for the week. If you have kids I highly suggest you rent the golf cart for the week.

Property manager came by one time on 2nd day only for brief introduction, would liked to have seen him at end to go through departure de-brief. Christmas in Paradise
My family of 10 stayed in Sayulita Dec 22-30th and we loved it. The house was perfect for 5 couples, the bedrooms were all very private except for the master which is right off the living/kitchen area. All bedrooms except for the master require walking up and down fairly steep stairs so just something to keep in mind if there are any injuries in your group. Gabriel was very responsive to our needs and helped us arrange massages at Casa Vela as well as Chef Cecelia to cook for us 3 nights. We found at down_wrd_dog on Instagram for some private yoga sessions that we all loved. Nothing like yoga with a healty dose of meditation while looking at the ocean from the privacy of your own outdoor living area! Sayulita is a gem of a town, head down many of the smaller, less-traveled streets for chic boutiques full of local artisan wares. Our favorite meals in Sayulita were at Rustica and Tierra Viva, the pizza and pasta at Pizza Venzia was amazing and it is BYOB. We had the most hospitable service and friendly folks everywhere we went. Planned a kayak trip with Mexitrek that was a nice break from town. Casa Vela is on a very steep hill so a golf cart is a must, Gabriel can help you locate the best company. Would we do it again? YOU BET!

Our stay in Sayulita was Amazing! Casa Vela is Beautiful! We had our 4 grown children and their partners, including our 2 grandchildren and Casa Vela met all of our needs:)!!! I recommend a golf cart for small children because the road to the house is very steep and rocky. We would stay there again and again!

Amazing house for our group
We spent a week at Casa Vela for my husband's 30th birthday. Everything in this house was perfect for our group. The indoor/outdoor living area allowed us to all hang out comfortably. Gabriel helped us arrange for transport from the airport, a couple of golf carts for the week, a private chef, and groceries to start out the trip. My friends were so impressed with the coordination, but really owe it all to him. The town was wonderful for our group to explore, and eat all of the tacos. I highly recommend this house and Sayulita.

Gorgeous property that is perfect for large groups!!
A group of friends from college just met up at Casa Vela for a spectacular 40th birthday celebration! The home is beyond perfect with amazing views and enough space for everyone to spread out. The only negative is a huge hill that leads to the house but its place on top of the hill is what gives this house such a great view. It is necessary to rent golf carts. Gabriel and staff were great. It has to be one of the nicest houses in Sayulita.

We loved our stay at Casa Vela! 12 of us (young 30s) stayed for 5 nights for a wedding trip. We loved it. All the rooms were great and the view was great. Highly recommend getting golf carts because the walk to town can get a bit tough day after day. Highly recommend!

Incredible property!
We had 12 of us and each couple had a great room and felt private. Staff are incredible. Gabriel was super responsive and stocked the house for our arrival. Close to town but you don’t hear the noise of the bars. The view from the pool is one of the best in Sayulita hands down. Will definitely come back again.

A vacation you will always remember!!
The house and indoor/outdoor living was incredible!! Our family of 8 adults came here for a getaway and had plenty of room. Each room had its own character and offered privacy. We spent most of our time in the infinity pool with the view of the ocean and amazing sunsets. We also enjoyed the pool table, outdoor bed to nap on and large round dinner table to talk around.
I would highly recommend renting golf carts because it is a very steep hill and it's also the ONLY way to get around town!! We enjoyed cruising around town, eating at several cute restaurants, relaxing on the beach and mingling with the friendly locals.
There were a few minor issues when we stayed but Gabriel was quick to respond and get things taken care of!! He was there when we got there and gave us a thorough overview of the property.
The only things I would suggest the house get is hairdryers in the bathrooms and maybe laundry soap for the washer. Otherwise we had everything we needed and would definitely come back!!

You cannot possibly go wrong staying here, it was perfect!!!
This was one of my favorite rentals of my whole life!!! 10 of us stayed in the house. We often didn't even need one of the bedrooms most nights. Every detail has been thought of, every corner beautifully decorated. It was incredibly relaxing and extraordinarily beautiful. I would certainly return. Gabriel was very helpful and the cleaning staff were very professional.
We did rent golf carts based on the reviews posted here and it was worth it and a lot of fun. There are a lot of stairs, but I loved the tiny bit of extra exercise. I also found out that staying on this side of town was very quiet.
This home felt luxurious, peaceful and was a true getaway. I really appreciated getting to stay here.

Spacious with a wonderful view
Casa Vela is very spacious, comfortably sleeping our group of 10. Gabriel was a fantastic host and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. The main living room offers an incredible view, refreshing pool, as well as a well-equipped kitchen and seating area. The only negative is that Casa Vela is located on a relatively steep hill and the walk up was difficult for some of our older group members. I would highly suggest renting golf carts in advance. All in all, it was an incredible experience and I would surely stay at Casa Vela again.

We recently stayed at Casa Vela with a group of friends and their kids and loved the house and the proximity to town and the Playa Las Cuevas beach. The hill is a bit steep to walk in the heat, however it felt good to burn off some of the food/drink we ate non-stop! The staff and property manager, Gabriel, are more than helpful and accommodating. We drank coffee in the morning by the pool over looking the city, and cocktails at night by the pool before dinner. It's a beautiful house and great for a group! We will definitely be back!

If we could give this property 6 stars then we would, OMG the place is incredible. Every day you will find another hidden treasure, whether it is something you have missed that is hanging on the wall to the hidden giant chicken in the garden.
The property manager is extremely professional and can speak very good English and will help you with anything at all. This is a must in Mexico if you do not speak Spanish (like us)
This property has it all, including Maria the housekeeper that treats the Casa like her home and you like family.
The location cold not be better, stunning sunsets and magical sea views from all corners of the home.
We had another couple staying with us and having each bedroom on different levels made for privacy and comfort.
Remember you will spend a lot of time in the pool and on the pool table, dam we are rebooking our next vacation as it was truly the best holiday ever!

The house was beautiful, authentic and incredibly comfortable. I spend the weekend here for my fiancee's 30th birthday with friends, and we hardly ever left the house. From the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, all the way to the huge commercial kitchen and breathtaking views we made ourselves at home and had an amazing time. I will definitely come here again the next time I visit Sayulita.
