The ambiance!!! The architecture and theme of The Clipper House takes you back to the Pan American Clipper Service when long distance air travel was an adventure!! This place has the living, breathing heyday of the 1930s and 40s!!! I don’t think you’ll find another place like this!!! The staff are wonderful!! Kudos to all!
Be patient with adjusting the water temperature in the shower. There’s hot water! No worries

The location.
This is more a backpackers hostel than a hotel.

The location. The desk staff were polite.
This is a bait and switch. I selected 'apartments and homes' only on Booking.com and this property came up with studio apartments. When I arrived I found out they are dark, dingy and noisy hotel rooms. Despite repeatedly claiming to Booking.com that I was misled, I have not been refunded by anyone and it took two days of arguing to be allowed to check out early. The internet was bad, and I was kept awake by barking dogs and people shouting in the street all night even with the 'noise reducing curtains'. The microwave in my room didn't work and the staff did not replace it when I asked. The light was very dark and the staff did not replace the bulb with a brighter one like they said they would. The desk staff admitted to me that they have no apartments, and yet they continue to claim they do on Booking.com. There are comfortable apartments in this city for less than these missold hotel rooms.

Street noise can be uncomfortably loud.

it feels quiet despite being in a lively location. the vibe of the lobby and room is retro and the room is spacious. the bed and pillows are firm and cozy. there's an electric kettle, fridge, and microwave in case you need to use. the staff are the best. always willing to assist. hotel is near many convenience stores and restaurants. two malls are nearby and may take a 10 to 20 minute car ride depending on traffic. hasslefree check in and check out. the hotel managed to feel like an obscure oasis in an area known for being too robust. i just love how quiet and secluded it is. people should try the 50s diner restaurant near the place to complete the retro experience.
toilet's lack of bidet and shower is replaced with a pail and dipper. the water is always hot. the microwave is awkwardly placed on the table so there's little space for eating. lack of elevator is no problem but if you have lots of luggage it might be. but again, staff are more than willing to help and assist for these minor inconveniences. overall, the experience was still good but i have to note these.

The photos are misleading - very different compared to actual state of the place

location was very good
I did not like. constantly to call the staff and ask to open the door every time. I was told also I can not have a guest. made me uncomfortable. I would not recommend to anyone.

Close to Burgos Street
Having to call up to get someone up on your mobile to open the door . It's just nice having freedom to come and go without hassling anyone.

Other than the friendly Jane, there was nothing!
I LEFT 1 DAY EARLIER THAN WHAT I PAID FOR!
I explained my total Dissatisfaction to Jane. I want to see if they actually followup and have the commom decency to refund my 1 night. The rating on TripAdvisor is outdated and as misleading as the pics on the booking sites.
