We stayed for three days during the King’s Coronation. We were attending a friend’s birthday party.
This is a homely, and very popular pub that has rooms above, and serves good quality food and wine at reasonable prices. The pub is on the edge of the common and is a short walking distance from Wimbledon Village , where there are other eateries and pubs. There was a very good foodie market on the Sunday. We walked to Wimbledon Tennis Club.(it’s on the opposite side of the village to where the Fox and Grapes is located).
The check in was quick and painless. All the staff are pleasant and efficient. The manager goes out of his way to be helpful and make you feel at home.
The rooms are above the bar/restaurant. Our room was compact, but we had everything we needed and the shower was hot and the bed comfortable. Each evening we had a breakfast hamper with cereals, jam and croissants left outside the door. A small fridge with water , fruit juices, yogurts and water is replenished inside the room.
The Sunday lunch was very good. We would definitely stay there again. Really enjoyed it.
No arm chair, but impossible to fit one in the room

I loved the staff. They go that extra mile and are both delightful and helpful.
The shower could be a bit more energetic and the sheets a little larger as they easily came untucked.

great location for where we needed to be & pleasant walk to train station, shops & bars/restaurants.
Nice breakfast hamper at door in the morning.
we’ll stocked fridge.
it was all good, only slight peaves were-
drains were a little smelly in bathroom but then I have a sensitive nose. Not enough to complain about.
Parking is on the street where it’s permit holders only from 2.30pm until 5.30pm. There is nothing the property can do but just advise people prior to park along the road & pay on Ringo app for the short stay of 2.30-5.30 which a staff member did on our arrival after driving around looking for parking.

Character of the location.
The food.
The staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
The room size was compact though we would stay there again.

this was a lovely room with a comfortable bed, great coffee machine and tea making facilities and plenty of water/orange juice and milk in the very useful small fridge. The continental breakfast provided in the morning was excellent too. I loved the cleanliness, the fluffy towels and the double shower too. There really was nothing to dislike at all. The staff were delightful and very helpful.
it was all great.

Lovely little place on the common. Really friendly staff and a pleasant stay.

Bar and restaurant downstairs
slightly small bedroom but pretty normal for the UK

Breakfast was absolutely awesome! Great selection of English jams, honey and granolas, and got great coffee upon request. Also loved the idea of serving the breakfast as room service in picnic basket, so cozy!
The night we stayed at the pub/hotel there was a private event downstairs which went on until quite late and given the building being quite traditionally built, there was little to no soundproofing so it was really hard to fall asleep.

For London prices very good value

Very cosy and friendly and hodelykt atmosphere.

A wonderful cosy pub tucked away from Wimbledon village. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. the room was really comfortable, clean and well considered. Fresh fruit, juice and milk in the fridge for a continental brekkie any time was a lovely touch.
Nothing!

Everything was very good — staff were friendly and helpful (especially when we arrived early) and the room was nice with a good quality breakfast. I also strongly appreciated that they let me leave bas the day I checked out and come back to get them in the evening.
I would have liked if the bathroom window opened, and one of the other ones didn't stay open.

nicely served in picnic basket andfridge in room
wimbleon week always too expensive

Slightly remote location , but within walking distance of Wimbledon village
The noise from outside wasn’t great , people drinking until late on a hot day which you expect staying at a pub , but deliveries in the morning of food woke me about 6am

close to Wimbledon tennis and Wimbledon village to walk into within 10mins

we absolutely loved our stay! room was very cute and bed comfortable. lovely little courtyard. the fresh milk/orange juice/breakfast was lovely! it was a great stay and we will be back
the only thing was the door slammed very loudly. we were worried that we woke people.

The room had been recently renovated
Sadly the offering could be great but my stay was far from optimal. Firstly safety, as a single woman travelling I am always careful where to book. The rooms were accessed via an alleyway beside the pub and then through a maze of corridors at the rear of the building. When I stayed, the pub was closed and not a soul to be seen which I found very disconcerting and I did not feel safe. I did phone and text the duty manager only to be contacted nearly 24 hours later. Not great if the issue is urgent. The room itself is adequate size but smelt strongly and needed a deeper clean (empty shampoo bottles behind bin, sticky bathroom floor etc). The ‘breakfast’ was very disappointing, a yoghurt and stale fruit, hardly the pastries and cereal as promised. I did not stay for a second night as did not feel safe staying in a room above an empty pub in a dark quiet street adjacent to Wimbledon Common

The room (when we got to the right one) was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and the hamper provide a unique difference. The bed was comfortable and the 1100 checkout proved convenient. We arrived an hour early and, despite being busy, they managed to find us a table for lunch (which wasn’t available until they realised we were staying the night). The location was excellent.
The staff were friendly and explained we had the best room in the Pub, that was until she showed us in only to realise it was already being used - on the up side another room opposite was empty! The bathroom radiator was loss and came away from the wall and the shower head rail was lose and hanging half off. The heating was very low and the single glazing didn’t help - I’d imagine the air conditioning is good in the summer, but not when there is a Nov,sub zero, storm outside.
