Super peaceful up in the mountains

The view was incredible! And we got a free upgrade to a higher up room with a huge terrace!

The road to enter the property is not for the faint of heart and even though it’s not hard to navigate after you do it the first time, It would be nice to get a heads up from the staff about it before arriving.

Exceptional

Everything was very good quality. The architecture of the hotel plus the natural beauty of the landscape and the impeccably tended grounds made for a very beautiful vacation. Staff are very attentive and did their best to acomodate our needs.

Not the greatest fan of booking everything in advance, like breakfast, dinner or for using the pool for example. But I absolutely understand why, there is less waist services will be better and even though the hotel was fully booked it never felt crouded and we always felt like we had our privacy. Also with me being terrible at keeping a schedule, staff always did their best and I never felt lacking. So this ended up being a good thing.

everything was just perfect, design, facilities, architecture, location

the restaurant process. the fact we need to chose the meal way in advance (2/3hrs) doesn’t make sense at all. in our case we had an issue with the choices made and the Chef didn’t clarify the mistake…

Amazing stay for an amazing weekend

We liked everything. The hotel location is absolutely stunning, it's quiet and the view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was really nice, kind and helpful during the whole stay. The spa facilities are nice and clean and it is well organized when it comes to the people flow regulation, so it's never overcrowded. They have a parking with easy access in and out which was convenient for us. We also had two dinners at the hotel and the food was amazing. If you plan to visit Parque Nacional de Penida-Gerês, I strongly recommend to stay at this Hotel. We will definitely come back. Thank you !

A modern and refined stay incrusted in the middle of nature, really close to Braga

The view is fantastic. The heated indoor pool — which has some jacuzzi-like water jets and a waterfall — was a perfect complement to the beautiful outdoor pool (a little too cold). The dinner was excellent, in a very intimate environment.

Everything was great but take into consideration that the hotel was quite empty. Curious to see how the high season impacts the experience.

- Friendly and helpful staff - The pools we're amazing. - Breakfast was great - The view is beautiful - We had a nice time using the hotel kayaking. - Very clean - Parking very convenient

- Shower. Took a few minutes untill hot water, and the stream was weak.

Lovely, romantic stay

Wonderful, professional and kind front of house staff- they went over and above to accommodate us. Massage was stunning. Loved the Sauna option too Beautiful views from every area and room has a lovely view over the gardens to the dam Nice to have an indoor pool- you book this privately for an hour (no extra pay) Stunning surroundings, central location. Short walk to the dam where you can swim and kayak Breakfast is simple, lunch and dinner is good. Thank you for the kind gift of wine for our honeymoon.

-The only thing I would strongly suggest is having toilet roll holders in all the bathrooms. Having the loo-roll on the toilet brush is unhygienic- something that can be fixed easily even with a stand alone loo-roll holder -Extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom and hot water took quite some time to get to us, but didn't bother us. -Air con isn't very strong in the rooms.

A lakeside paradise

it’s right on the most beautiful lake where you can swim or use the free kayaks. The pool was great, the room was comfortable and nice. we loved it!

Very good

Everything was great, clean and well organized. The view from the restaurant was astonishing. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was very clean and the area very quiet.

I think the price of the food was a bit too high for the level of food (which was very good, but not amazing as the price suggests). There should be more options for vegetarian people

Fantastic property. We stayed at "Casa do Moinho", very comfortable, beautiful setting with great views. The house is very well maintained and the staff is really nice. They really walk the extra mile to make you have a great stay!!!

Wonderful getaway

Everything. The room was confortable, nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good, served at the table, everything was fresh and delicious. We also had dinner there and absolutly loved the food. The view at the restaurante was a great bonus. Actually, the view from the property is breathtaking.

Excellent for couples

Very good place for a short stay (either for couples or families with children). The place is very comfortable and clean. If you stay in the rooms next to the pool you may feel some lack of privacy, but it always depends on the time you want to spend in the room. Not the best breakfast ever, but overall I would say that the experience is good value for money.

Only the access inside the property, the road looks old and could be renovated.

Amazing place but very poor staff!

Amazing surrounding nature, lots of options, river, pool indoor and outdoor, kayak, paddle. Loved the place!!!

After the first night at morning breakfast I felt there was lack of staff and also that it was controlled, too slow serving the food and not very carying. Also no sun umbrellas available on the swiming pool, we had a baby and without a shadow it was hard to use the pool as it was all day exposed to the sun. We also had ants attack on our room on babys bed, and the hotel staff after a complaint sent someone to clean the room and change the bed. Room cleaning was done everyday though very late, we asked for swiming pool toals at 12pm they were delivered 6pm, fortunatly we had brought our own toals. One of the days during our stay after asking the cleaning lady for pool towels we were told that the toals were not available since those were not back from laundry. Overall I would say that the staff lacks attention to guests.
