economical price. amazing location that's next to a fresh open market. the kitchen is sufficient and there's a rooftop terrace as well.
I wasn't able to extend before the host decided to reserve the room for a staff. The host isn't always in the hostel hence making things like extending stays or requesting additional services like laundry extra difficult.
Lastly, I do wish the common area is provided slightly better ( more tables / chairs, perhaps having a roof cover for the roof given how rainy the city is)
Also, the dorm next to the street (which happens to be the biggest one) can be very noisy from what I've heard, make sure stay in other rooms.

Nice stay at Antonio Hostal, close to the center, excellent mattress and helpful staff
It might be cleaner

The host was very flexible and let me leave my stuff in the room after the check-out time at no extra cost. The hostel was centrally located. They had good large lockers.
The room was basic but it was very reasonable for the price. Friendly place where you can chat to other travellers. I'd stay again.
For the price no complaints.

The staff are so kind and make you feel at home straight away. The spaces are clean and really good you have a view of all the city. There is everything you need. Best showers in Colombia.

Very basic accomodations, good for a night or two if you're passing through town. Hot water, decent WiFi. There is a kitchen (with refrigerator) and a few tables in the common area.
Parking for one or two motorcycles if you can fit through a meter-wide hallway.
It's a fairly cold climate, and they supplied just one blanket. Bed is very firm and pillows have a stiff plastic cover on them.

Cheap, clean. Good for one night.
Extremely basic rooms without decoration, you can hear everything around the house.

Reasonable in price, I booked a 4 bedroom dorm and ended up in a room with 8 beds, but I had the room completely for myself - guess due to the low season.
The hostel does not offer nice common areas to sit and to enjoy, but the location was good, the stuff friendly, the room clean and very reasonable in price, so what should I complain about.
Equipment could be improved

- Location was great.
- Really wholesome hostel, the family who run it are lovely and John has lots of great advice. You almost feel like you're staying in your relatives house with their grandparents pottering around.
- Basic but very clean and exactly what we were looking for.

It is simple, warm, spacious, illuminated, clean rooms and very clean bathrooms. very quiet atmosphere with beautiful plants all around with plenty of space for doing yoga or just taking a sunbath.
There is warm showers, water is drinkable and the kitchen is well
equipped with big refrigerator and lots of space to cook simultaneously with other travelers.
we were able to visit Puracé National Park BUT the highlight of the visit was the Orchids Tour , that took us to a near area where we were able to see a lot of the local culture around coffee, local products, plants, animals. Also we
got to see how the production of coffee is implemented in Colombia ending up trying the best local coffee in a beautiful farm called Mejorana. Yes Orchids are just part of a very nice experience that took us inside the local
idiosyncrasy.
I liked it is ver well located, near many stores, on the Main Street of town with opportunity just to walk to main square, also to visit the local farmers market.
I like is a very quite Hostel, still in the middle of downtown close to transportation terminal and with many options of activities to do around Popayán.
Property has a lot of space to enjoy my readings or just to work remote. I really felt has in my own place.
Breakfast was so well balanced with fresh ingredients, coffee, sausage, fruits and the famous Colombian arepa. I do recommend taking Antonio’s breakfast.
everything was all right, we even celebrate my friend’s birthday party in Hostal Antonio. thank you guys.

The night before heading to pasto we found out about the road closure from the hostel owner. He then drove us to the train station to try find a solution and then got up at 04.00am to drive us to catch an early bus. The family couldn't have been more helpful

Good hostel for the price, quite basic. Friendly owner.

The hostal had everything you need basically. The owner was very kind.
I had to ask for a key. I think they forgot to give me one. There was a blanket but no linens/sheet.

All I have to say is that the owner is amazing. He helped us sooo much and drove us everywhere we wanted for a minimal price.
He knew I only had one day in popayane so he helped me organise everything and took care of my like never.
I am very gratefull, tank you so much!

Location is only a few minutes walk from town centre. Staff is nice and helpful. Orchid tour with Felipe was amazing! That's a must do.
Kitchen could be cleaner, bathrooms need more attention. Lounge area could be improved. It is really noisy! We travel since 4 months in South America and this hostel has been the worst when it comes to noise. They offer rides to different sights. We've used that service only to be disappointed. The service was super expensive with 40 USD asking price to drive you to the Purace Nationalpark in a car I would not take my guests. It broke down halfway there. So it was too late to start an early hike. That was what we asked for. Getting there the hostel caretaker couldn't really give us information because he's never been to that area either. If you want to go take the public bus. They leave from Popayan terminal.

We were only here for one night between buses but in that short time the family running the hotel managed to wow us with their kindness and hospitality. From helping us plan our morning timings, cooking us the biggest and best breakfast of our 2 months in South America and then taxi-inf us to the terminal in the morning. We loved it and such great value for money too given the cosy room, clean bathrooms and cheap breakfast too. Definitely stay here if you're spending any time in Popayan. Thank you jhon and family!

Everything. Great value for money. 10 minutes to town. Felt very secure.
Nothing.

Close the the square. Standard hostel room. Overall clean and good staff.
The kitchen was not the cleanest or most up to date.
3.5
Good location close to the city centre and John was very helpful and patient with our minimal Spanish.
The private room and shower we stayed in were a little run down but it wasn’t an issue for the purpose of our stay.

familiar vibe, nice staff and cute cat ^^ located quite near the centro
breakfast a bit expensive (15:000), down the road you can get arroz con eggs for 5000. the air in the room smelled a bit damp.

Good hostel for one night but nothing special.
Really cheap!
The mattress was really bad.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, they went the extra mile to help me plan my trip and crossing the border to Ecuador. the orchid walk they offer at the hostel is amazing and has been one of the highlights of my trip so I would definitely recommend that to anyone!

Nice staff. Everything you need!
The food market is very close and the City Center as well :)
There are to many beds in one room. If all of them are booked there is basically no space for luggage or movement.
