About this house rental

Located on a one-acre lot tucked away between the trees and natural vegetation that only the St. George Plantation offers, sits Island Girl SGI. This cute and cozy beach bungalow that speaks of "old Florida", is perfect for couples or small families! There are 2 very spacious bedrooms and 2 baths. A large living area has plenty of seating and even a game table on which to play games or jigsaw puzzles in the evening! Take in the view and the sea breeze whistling through the trees on the large wrap-around deck. Island Girl will give you that recharge you need! The beach path and dune walkover are the most beautiful on the Island, and only 300 steps. The house is tucked back into natural vegetation for complete privacy and peace. A park-style grill, fish cleaning area, outdoor shower, picnic table, and loungers complete the downstairs area. Approved Fur Babies are welcome for an extra fee!

St. George Island Plantation is a large gated community on the western end of the island. It features 24-hour security, nature and bike trails, a kayak launch, pickle and tennis courts, and a small gym located on Magnolia within the Clubhouse. Multiple "viewing" spots are located throughout the community to visit, both on Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

There are 2 large resort-style swimming pools, one located just 3 minutes down the bike path. There are multiple tennis courts and a pickleball court, At the very end of the Plantation, enjoy the best fishing on the island at "the cut". It is accessible via the beach.

Linens and cleaning services are included in our rates. An initial supply of paper products and bar hand soap is supplied with each booking. Complimentary beach towels are provided, just don't forget to wash and put them away for the next guest!

Bike, chair, and umbrella rentals are available through several companies on the Island

* St. George Island is a remote barrier island. Although we enjoy every amenity, there can be disruptions in services. Please note that we can not guarantee Internet, television, telephone, or electricity, (if you change any cable or internet configuration, you may forfeit your security deposit). We will guarantee that we will make every effort to have the service restored as soon as possible. Many of the technicians however are located miles away and can take some time to arrive. There are several restaurants both on the Island and in nearby Apalachicola that offer free Wi-Fi!

We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back! The house is cozy and a short walk from the beach down a quiet nature path. The kitchen is well equipped and we had no problem making most of our meals at home. We’ll definitely look to stay here again the next time we’re in St. George.

My husband, 2-year old son, and I stayed at Island Girl for our first visit to St. George Island, and we had a blast! The house is in a great loaction: walking distance to the beach, in a quiet and in a quiet, gated community with access to pools. Renay was super responsive and had great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. Thank you for making our trip special!

We had an absolute blast! Property was super private. It felt like we were in our own tropical paradise. House was well stocked with all of our needs, and the beach was just a short walk from the house. My only suggestion would be to bring bug spray. With all the plant life on the island, mosquitos were in full effect when not on the beach.

The house is located on a quiet street in a very peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed sending time on the big deck. Home was a 2 minute walk to the beach. There were never more than one or two other families on the beach and everyone was quite nice. The beds were comfortable, nicely renovated master bathroom, new windows. Some appliances were older but functioned fine. Affordable rental in a really nice area. Owners were very responsive to questions.

My girlfriend and I took our dogs to the Island Girl for a quick stay. It was perfect for what we needed. The host had wonderful communication and the beach was gorgeous. I think we say a total of 5 people on the beach the entire time we were there. Everything was dog friendly! We will definitely be coming back.

We had a wonderful, relaxing long weekend and fell in love with The Plantation and Renay’s Island Girl cottage. The privacy and fun we had with our golden retriever Lily was a memory we will forever cherish. We have always vacationed in Destin and Orange Beach but we have found paradise now and plan on vacationing with family and friends here from now on. We wanted a relaxing beach vacation with our dogs. This place was perfect for my husband and me and our adult daughter and her BF. The house is a short walk from the beach with an outside shower and hose down area, perfect to rinse off after playing on the beach. The beach isn’t crowded, especially mornings and evenings, and great for long walks, swimming and just relaxing in beach chairs. The owner is very responsive and friendly. We would come here again.

We loved every aspect of our stay!! Very welcoming and confortable home for our family, and our pets 🐕. The walk to the beach is really short and so convenient!! The games and puzzles were a big hit for our 3 year old (...besides the beach 😄 ). All our needs were taken care of in a timely manner. The host was always available to answer questions or concerns! We enjoyed the shops around the island, the food, etc. Everything was easily accesible from the house. Definitely recommend Sea Palm Village! I am very thankful to have found this place to enjoy our family vacations! I am sure we will be back!

As newbies to SGI Renay's Island Girl was a perfect choice! It's accurately represented in listing, great location, short distance to the beautiful beach via a lush nature ridden path and boardwalk! We only dined out once at The Blue Parrot (try the Mahi Rueben!) as this home's kitchen was fully equipped, clean and perfect way to wrap up our fun beachfront days. Island Girl was the perfect beach getaway for me and my mom and our furry pets. It was a great distance from the beach and restaurants downtown. The little bungalow is tucked away in the woods with plenty of shade and privacy. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the waves. We would definitely stay here again!

This property has a great location. Beautiful short walk to the beach. The beach was wonderful and not crowded. The place was really clean. Some paint and replacing some deck boards would really bump this up to a 5 star. The inside is so cute and lovely. Our only complaint was that we were without wi-fi/internet during our stay.

Wonderful house, great amenities (kayaks, Roku, outdoor shower). But for my child and I all the wonderfulness of their first trip to the beach was left short by overly soft beds that provided no support. My 3yo sunk into both beds and was never able to sleep except out of sheer exhaustion. It was hard for me to sleep as well, both my neck and hips are all out of whack now 🙁. We ended up cutting our vacation short bc my 3yo just wasn't comfortable. I know bed softness is a personal preference but it dampened our visit to an otherwise wonderful house.

This property is secluded and just perfect what ever your reason for visiting. The kitchen was stocked perfectly and the unique beach decor was ever so inviting. The walk to the beach was just as stated and oh it was such a pretty and tropical site. Loved our stay even though Tropical Storm Fred cut it short for us, but our plans are to return to the Island Girl. Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise.

We loved Island Girl and all the amenities Renay provided. Any question we had prior to our trip was promptly answered. The cottage is in a quiet street a short walk from the beach which is awesome. This property offers so much privacy without sacrificing convenience to the beach and other amenities. And, as other reviewers have noted, the house feels like a home away from home -- total comfort without the frills. We were also pleasantly surprised by the size of the home. While it's not what most would consider a large home, I feel it's larger than the photos convey -- the perfect fit for our family of four. In short, my family and I loved our time in Island Girl. We would jump at the chance to stay again.
