About this apartment rental
Family Tides condo, which is centrally located on the island was updated a few years ago. It includes all new paint, appliances and flooring in the bedrooms. Enjoy the spacious open floor plan with large living room, dining area & beautiful kitchen. Right off from that area the balacony door leads to the front deck spanning the entire full front of the building. One can enjoy the scenic view of downtown St. George Island including the lighthouse from sitting in a rocking chair. The public beach, lighthouse, quaint shops and restaurants are all in walking distance. The condo is next door to Aunt Ebby's Ice Cream and about a block from Island Outfitters (beach rental equipment) and Island Dog Outdoors.
There are plenty of beaches nearby, including the main public beach and the State Park which covers the eastern portion of the island.
The beds sleep up to 8, not including the sofa bed. The master bedroom has a king bed, the 1st guest bedroom features a full bed and twin bunkbed, and the 2nd guest bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a pull-out sofa bed in the living room (linens available for the sofa bed upon request).
Kitchen comes supplied with condiments, standard coffee maker, dishwasher, ice maker with filtered water dispensing frig. There is a washer and a dryer. There is Wi-Fi and a 50" Smart TV (no cable) and DVD player along with family-friendly DVDs.
The condo is located upstairs (above a quiet restaurant), providing a better view of the island. Bookings 7 nights or more get a 10% discount; 28 nights or more get a 20% discount.
There are plenty of beaches nearby, including the main public beach and the State Park which covers the eastern portion of the island.

Everything was great. Really good location centrally in town. Plenty of places to eat near by, and the beach is easily in walking distance. Small hick up getting in the day of, but got ahold of them and got everything resolved quickly. We'd definitely stay again.

Very clean, large unit with a great location. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The ice cream shop is right next door and was a must visit every night. 12/10 would recommend!

Our stay was amazing! We got to the island when a storm was blowing in. We are so thankful that the owner let us into the house early. We were right next door to Island Dog rentals where we rented bicycles and paddleboards. We biked all over the island. It was fantastic! The beach is super close and house had everything that we needed to enjoy our beach days. Everything is biking distance to the house which makes for a lovely vacation!

We have stayed at this property multiple times and always look forward to coming back each year. Right in the center of everything on St. George Island. Perfect walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Its perfect in every way. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and in the kitchen/dining/livingroom area. Its a hidden gem just like St. George Island is!

I am super impressed. As first time visitors to the island, my husband and I just hoped to find a nice spot to stay and relax with the kids. The condo was more than just nice- it was very spacious, quiet, clean, and comfortable. The owners were incredibly kind and warm in their communications with us, and answered questions in a timely manner. We are very thankful and blessed to have stayed in such a lovely place- everyone agreed that both the condo and the island visit were the best part of our Florida vacation.

This condo was in a great location with just a short walk to everything. Everything was clean and we had a lot of room for everyone. Our dog especially loved sitting on the front porch to people watch. Our host was very kind and attentive to anything we needed.

This place was in the middle of everything and easy to find. The apartment is very spacious and also has a game room which is perfect entertainment for the kids. The only down fall I saw was the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, some one left a coffee cup full of coffee on the counter and it was filthy under the beds and sofa. All in all I would stay here again.

This condo is in the middle of the whole little town right above the subway. Perfect location walking distance to everything you could possible need. Very spacious, great back (front) deck. Lots of sleeping areas. Fully stocked with games and entertainment. We loved our stay here and would definitely book it again. The grocery store is a small piggly wiggly it was fully stocked in April when we went but I’ve heard towards the end of season it’s slim pickings. There is also no urgent cares on the island so any medical issues need to go to the local hospital.

The location and the space of this place is/was incredible. At first you might think…..seriously above a Subway restaurant??!! But change your thinking….,it’s in the middle of everything. Minutes walking distance to shops, restaurants, public beach access and an ice cream shop right next door! It’s fun sitting on the balcony at night people watching and listening to the waves crash in the background. Inside, serious amounts of usable space. You can feel at home very quickly…,..and hate to leave! Highly recommended location…. I hate to say that because I want it to be “ my little secret”!

We absolutely loved this home and the location was perfect! We were 1 block from the ocean and it was an easy walk to get there. Plus we had a pizza place downstairs, the ice cream shop next door that we went to every night, and all kinds of other shops and restaurants within walking distance. The home was really cute and much, much bigger than it looks from outside. We loved sitting on the balcony in the evening breeze and eating breakfast out there in the morning. It was so quiet and peaceful. My family had a blast with the air hockey table too. We had such a great time and I highly recommend this home.

Terrible Experience
Property was extremely pricey for the location, it is literally on top of a Subway and only access to the beach is a public beach that gets quite questionable throughout the day. Very noisy and actually had to call the police one night because a group of kids were fighting in the Subway Parkin lot, aster all this I get charged a additional cleaning fee for red substance on tile floor that was easily removed and additional wiping of counters . I paid a cleaning fee with the rental so not sure what that money towards but I assumed it would be for then cleaning people to do their job . I would joy recommend this property as there are plenty of other properties on the island of much better value and location. Extremely disappointed !!

Wonderful spot
This place is above a Subway restaurant. But it wasn’t at all a problem. It was a wonderful place to stay. The location is within walking distance to anything you might want to do! It was big and well stocked.

Great location and roomy.
This place was perfect for the five of us. A lot of room and separate living areas for the adults and kids. Within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. Very clean and comfy. Would definitely rent again. Thanks Ruth.

We had a nice time. The place is very clean and roomy. It has all you need. Lovely decor and very comfortable bedding. Location is central to the town. A bit of noise from main drag traffic and the Subway. But it does not impact sleeping time. Hihly recommendeded.

Love the location
This is the second time staying here. The space is large and roomy with excellent natural light.
As I have been seeing with rentals lately, the houses are not stocked as well as they used to be. You will need to bring or purchase extra household items needed for your stay.
Some nicer frying pans were added, but the other cookware is old and very used. Towels were more limited this year. There were only 1 bath towel per person and 2 kitchen towels for the house. No dish cloth or sponge.
The king size bed was extremely hard. We toughed it out last year, but ended up moving to a queen room after 2 nights.
The condo is very clean and bright with large bedrooms and comfortable living areas. The kitchen is large and a breeze to cook the fresh caught fish or fresh seafood from the area.
The location of this rental is perfect. You can walk to everything. Stores, the lighthouse, the beach and food are just steps away.
The place is quite quiet for the area it is in. You can hear the music at Paddy's, but only if you step out the door. If you can hear the music, walk 2 blocks and have a beer, some oysters and a good time there.
Ruth answers her texts right away if you have any concerns. She is great to work with.
I feel you cannot go wrong staying here, just bring a king size memory foam pad.

Perfect Accommodation!
We were two couples -- all seniors -- who took a winter trip to eat oysters in Apalachicola for a few days. This property is huge, well- furnished, and impeccably clean. I can visualize a family there for a beach week being very satisfied as well. Kudos, Ruth! We'll be back!!

Excellent Property
I hesitate to give a good review because this is a hidden gem and it might not be available the next time we get to St George Island. However, unless you hate the smell of fresh baked bread, you cannot go wrong. It was exactly as advertised on the site. Absolutely beautifully decorated, large property and clean. All items worked, full kitchen and extremely well maintained property. Ruth was responsive and an complete pleasure to deal with. Was so pleased we booked another night and it was effortless thanks to Ruth. Thank you again Ruth for providing such a great experience for my family. You cannot go wrong booking with Ruth.

A perfect get away on St. George's Island
This is a A+ property. We could hear the waves from the condo. There was a lovely game room and we enjoyed using the air hockey table. Plenty of space. Kitchen was spacious. Beautifully decorated and very new. Short walk to the beach. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back again. For the first time my teenage girls seemed to enjoy themselves while away and I have to attribute this to the location, the game room, card games and space they each had!

Great location and comfy surroundings
We had a lovely two-night stay at this well-equipped condo. The three bedrooms were more space than we needed and would have been perfect for a family. We did have some connection issues with the internet and the TV, but overall a wonderful stay.

Subway upstairs condo
Lovely stay., we’ve been coming to SGI 22 years and this is one of the nicest, most convenient, places we’ve stayed! The condo was HUGE! The location was perfect; the Blue Parrot, Weber’s donuts and Harry A’s, are all within walking distance. Aunt Ebby's ice cream, next door, was a bit hazardous to our waistlines but so delicious! The host was very responsive and even notified us before we checked in that the previous guests, broke a glass in the kitchen table, since it just happened and the guest didn’t inform them, they were not able to get it fixed before our arrival. It was just the two of us, so no big deal but we did appreciate the heads up. They had taped the broken crack in the glass. There was a bit of sand on the floors, when we got there, having a vacuum would have been helpful but I am a clean freak and often vacuum, even at VRBOs, so take that with a grain of salt. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Fantastic place. The decor/furnishings were topnotch, and the size of the location was huge. The owner was very responsive and respectful. Perfect location for a large group, but cleaning fee is steep for a single renter.

Surprisingly great experience!
I was initially a bit skeptical of this property given that it was connected to the Subway downstairs. However, it’s actually a beautiful condo - perfect for my friend and I! It’s very soundproof, the pictures in the listing are very accurate, and it is a very short walk to the beach. Ruth gave me all the information to make our stay easy and comfortable. It’s a perfect place to just stretch out, relax, go to the beach, watch TV, play board games or even take a bath. Would highly recommend in St. George area.
