Amazing location, very clean and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Not much storage for clothes and no things to wash up with.

I was very pleased with my visit to Portou House. What caught my eye was the cleanliness and modern interior, which looked exactly as described on the website.
One of the greatest assets of Portou House is the sensational terrace with jacuzzi, which provided me with a wonderful relaxing experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which only added to my enjoyment of my stay.
All in all, Portou House is a fantastic place to stay, with a relaxing terrace with jacuzzi and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great break in Chania.

The location was excellent, right in the centre of the old town and we were initially really pleased. The room was an excellent size, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfortable. There was a great small compact kitchen, kettle, Nespresso coffee-machine, and a large fridge and freezer. There was no parking, which we knew and we did manage to find local parking round the corner during our stay. We were out of season in March so don't bank on this during the summer. Chania is a beautiful city to visit, has a lovely picturesque harbour and Portou House is in a great location to make the most of your stay here. Hopefully these reviews may help the owner to make Apartment 3 with a roof terrace a little more Private for future occupants.
I am a travel agent in the UK so being as realistic as I feel necessary. The views from the roof terrace are not realistic unless you lie on the floor behind the jacuzzi! The furniture was not as it was in the photographs... It had been replaced with scruffy chairs that were falling apart! It looked tired and faded with the sun. We were woken up by plumbers one morning who went to the roof terrace which came with our room and it was then full of rubbish and equipment. The shower and hot water were then not available and neither was the roof terrace where we enjoyed having our breakfast. We were not informed this would be happening.. All this would have taken was a text or courtesy call, even if this was an emergency we would have liked to have known!!
We were also sat on the roof one evening and guests renting the apartments below came up to have a look!! Luckily , we were fully dressed and not enjoying time in the jacuzzi on what was supposed to be a "private roof terrace". This has not been made clear to other guests. There should be a notice to say this at the bottom of the stairs! It is not worth the extra for a private roof terrace. We tried to use the jacuzzi too, filled it up with water, turned it on and nothing happened, there were no additional instructions as to how this may work so I don't know whether it did or not!!- very disappointing. There were however, pamphlets and booklets promoting a Building/Real Estate company that did not interest us in the slightest. We asked the lad who came to collect our money and he had no idea how it worked either!!
We refused to pay for one of the four nights as we were so cross. We were reimbursed for this straight away which we were thankful for.

excellent central location. great facilities. bed very comfortable, staff very helpful, great communication, allowed us a late check out, highly recommended! would stay again. thank you.
nothing to dislike
4.3
Beautiful contemporary design throughout. Excellent location - simultaneously secluded yet very central to everything. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge is a nice touch. Great customer service from Gogo.
Blinds permanently lowered to chest height - you can't raise them higher, therefore outlook from the room is highly restricted, as is daylight. Housekeeping a bit slapdash - evidence of dust in places. TV not intuitive to operate and reliant upon a glitchy cable service that shows dozens of obscure channels from a random array of mainly Middle Eastern countries, with no Greek terrestrial channels at all and only a couple of the global news channels. Emergency exit light above door bright enough and minibar loud enough to disturb light sleepers

there isn’t a balcony

Location very central to the port and old town, Room was spacious, facilities were great, Owner was very helpful, small supermarket just round the corner.

the host was fantastic, great communication, the bed was very comfy and the free toiletries were brilliant, the location was absolutely perfect and the property felt very safe and secure.
the rubbish bin was very small and only changed once during our visit meaning we had to take out our own rubbish, same with the bed sheets.

A very welcoming central mini apartment, extremely clean and functional. The building has been very carefully restored with a modern design and the owner was very kind!
4.3
We had the room on the first floor and everything was brand new. The room had everything you need including a small nespresso machine, tea, hair drier towel etc.
The location couldn’t have been better. It is located in a small quiet street on the old town and you could walk everywhere. Multiple shops and restaurants within 2-3 mins walking distance.
Very close to bus station for people who want to explore areas close to Chania.
Everything was perfect. The only thing that I felt was missing was a full size mirror on the bedroom.
4.3
The location was excellent, very central, however still quiet because it was off the main street.
We had the impression we were allowed to be on the balcony, however when the upstairs tenants arrived they said the balcony was private. This was an unpleasant surprise to us. In the future i would hope this would be more clear to who can or cannot access and if it is or is not private.

The room was greatly located, in the heart of the old town, but still, in a very quiet location. Very clean and comfy, providing once facilities. There were some nice amenities such as a coffee machine.
WiFi signal was not very strong in the room.
4.3
Good location and the room is quite modern and minimalist , you have everything but compact. Aircon and other amenities in the room works well.
nothing.

Pleasant experience on Crete. A very modern and clean apartment, right in the historical center not far from the bus station, beach and restaurant. The room was cleaned every two days and the staff via phone/message was super friendly. A nice surprise was a bottle of wine and Nespresso coffee machine.
Good signal of the WiFi on the lowest floor (ground floor) was sometimes a very difficult task, but unless you need a good connection for work it’s not disturbing (to be fair, WiFi and data connection accros Crete was problematic).

The building has excellent location in Chania's Old Town, while at the same time being on a side and more quiet street. The ground room I had is located on the right when you enter the building, so you don't have to climb any stairs while carrying a heavy luggage, and its windows face the quiet street. The hosts are very responsive to any questions (how to proceed with the late check-in and and check-out, offered details about the COVID regulations in place) or issues that you bring to their attention (asked to check the shower drain and look into the hot water problem and it was solved the same day), or things you may need (I asked for a clothes rack to hang the beach towels, swim suites, etc and it was delivered at the same day).
There is also WiFi in the room, as well as a safe box, a smart TV and a small fridge. The bed and pillows are comfortable and the hosts provided complementary wine, coffee and tea, as well as bathroom toiletries (dental set, shower gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner). The shower water pressure is ok and the walk-in cabin is quite large. The toilet is located separately on the left side of the bathroom and works ok.
Since the room is lacking in natural light (there is no balcony and the windows face the street, so 95% of the time the shades are off) and fresh air (same issue with windows facing the street on the ground floor - so the AC venting has to stay on most of the times), it may give one a "cave" like feeling. I feel this could be avoided with using more proper curtains that prevent nosey looks inside, but would also allow for natural lighting and opening the windows more. Also, the room could do with more storage space /cabinets, as there is only 1 drawer to use for clothes. While most of the times it is well sound isolated, you can still hear your upstairs neighbors using the bathroom. The TV was set in Greek and it went straight into the menu when I opened it, so I couldn't use it (unfortunately my Greek is a bit rusty) - this wasn't an issue for me, but if you like hearing some news in the evening instead of walking down the Port area, it can be.
Lastly, on the cleanness side: the room was cleaned every 2 days (towels and lingerie changed) and floor vacuumed and/or mopped. However, the dust wasn't done: it was there on the coffee maker and tray, as well on the TV when I arrived, it was still there when I left. Also, there was no soap in the bathroom, which was strange because all other toiletries were there (dental, shower) and it was only brought in on the 2nd room cleaning, 4 days after I checked in. When I arrived, I have found a big bag of what appeared to be used lingerie in the room, which to be fair is not what one wishes to find at a new location, especially in COVID times. When I told the host about it, they apologized and it was removed the same day. Lastly, when I came back in the room after the 2nd cleaning, the AC was set to 19 degrees Celsius, which was a bit of a shock, considering I was coming from the beach, where there were about 30.

Beautiful room in a perfect location. We loved this place, probably the best in the city. Altough we did not meet anyone because of Covid, the check in and out was without any problems and we were still in constant contact with the host via chat.
4.3
Loved the location, the assistance with checking in and checking out. Recommended.
Need a larger mirror in the ground floor bedroom.
4.3
Perfect location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, good communication.
as we stepped in we found the laundry from the other rooms, they forgot to collect them, especially in corona times cleanliness is very important. We have been told that every two days our room will be cleaned, they came almost a week later, no drying rack available in our room (or any other alternative in the building). Only after request a drying rack was given.

Air condition and TV did not work the first night but were fixed in the morning.

Great location close to the harbour, bus station and city center, situated in the cutest walkway, the most comfortable bed I've slept in in weeks, great facilities very modern and relaxing, easy check in and out, ROBES.
Owner was extremely kind and helpful, I loved that I was able to reach them through WhatsApp! They helped me a lot with my bus transfer back to Heraklion
Nothing, I loved every single thing about this place!
4.3
Very modern and clean accomodation with everything you might need for a short stay. Communication with the owners was amazing and we got an answer to every question straightaway. The location was also great, only a few minutes walk from the port.
