Had a lovely week here. There was abundant wildlife to observe around the villa, which was very comfortable with the benefit of the pool to cool off in. There are some lovely beaches a short drive away and Castara Bay is nearby.

All the reviews are true. Parrot Estate Villa is a little piece of absolute paradise - nestled up in the ridge and surrounded by lush forest humming with wildlife. We loved keeping the hummingbird feeder topped up, and became accustomed to our nighttime fly-throughs from bats, massive moths and beetles. The house is comfortable and well equipped, with lots of delicious fruit and flowers to enjoy. The pool is a cooling haven on a hot day. Even when it rained, it was a pleasure to sit out and watch it all - such beautiful scenery it never gets boring. The drive is a little hairy at first but we soon got used to it. WiFi worked great. Kate was an excellent host - kind and thoughtful, super responsive and full of great advice. Her man on the ground Jason was the same. We had a BRILLIANT time and would highly recommend. THANK YOU Kate and Jason!

I really don't know where to begin. The owners have been incredibly helpful and furnished us with all the information we needed to stay in this stunningly beautiful remote villa. It was a little difficult to find the first night but we got there to an amazing welcome from Jason the property manager. Every property out there needs a Jason we cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us during our stay.
So to the main event this place is so cathartic and incredibly good for your well-being the hummingbirds, parrots, red squirrels, lizards I could go on.
If you like buzz and busy then this is not for you. If on the other hand you want to reconnect with yourself then it is.
It truly is paradise and we have falien in love with the island and it's people. Everything you need and more is there. Again thank you
Kevin and Jackie Simon

We had a wonderful time at the villa! Waking up to the sounds of parrots and other birds in the middle of the rainforest was just magical. We also enjoyed the pool very much and the fact that it is only a 5-minute drive to Englishman’s Bay. Jason, the caretaker of the house, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He is the nicest guy - easy-going, funny and flexible but also absolutely reliable and attentive.
We would love to come back!!

This is a beautiful colonial-style property. It is fully-equipped and we spent a wonderful, peaceful time here.
This place is ideal for romantic getaways or socially-distanced vacations. We came while COVID-19 rtestrictions were pretty strict on the island. However, we didn't have to deal with the outside world. Surrounded by greenery and absolute peace, it was exactly what we needed after months of lockdown.
The view from the pool is amazing, and opens up into green hills with Englishman's Bay just below.
Do note that this is a remote "jungle retreat". There is no grocery within walking distance, and the village nearby only has a couple of places where you can buy food. So make sure you pick up what you need in Scarborough or the Lowlands area. Also, do not bring a sedan. The property itself is up a hill, and the final stretch of the road was not paved. It was also rainy season, and it was a fairly difficult drive when it was raining, even though we had an SUV.
Once you are up there, there is no need to leave. Just make sure you don't accidentally end up hauling your stuff up the hill.
The local property manager, Jason, lives on the nearby village and was very warm and very helpful. He showed us the property, offered to pick up extra groceries, and checked on us to make sure we lacked for nothing. He also helped me locate nearby sights and pointed out which services were available at Castara Village.

Paradise amongst the parrots and the fruit trees!
We loved waking up every morning to watch the parrots from our hammocks…the chakalaka birds sure didn't let us miss it! Our first breakfast was grapefruits right off the tree on the property…our only regret was not being there in wet season because they also have mangos, bananas, and more all over the property! In general, this villa was a relaxing and romantic escape in the rainforest…though I'd definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get up to the estate. Castara is only a 10 minute drive and the beautiful Englishman's Bay Beach is closeby, though a fairly steep hike! The house itself came loaded with extras that we were appreciative of…lots of cooking ware, extra towels and bedding, games, and beers in the fridge when we arrived. We did have an incident with the stove burner being a bit old and the element frying on us but the barbecue turned out to be a better option anyway! Jason, who tends to the grounds and the guests, was absolutely amazing to us…he brought us all of the local fruits we should try and even a catch of the day fish with some local herbs and spices. He also showed us around the property and taught us about everything they grow there. This villa is definitely a hidden gem and if you want a more remote getaway in the middle of nature, you need to check it out!

Amazing hideaway in the jungle just outside Castera
We could not have been happier with our choice of places to stay here in Tobago's lovely Castera community. The house and setting were perfect for our needs; not super fancy, just peaceful, tranquil and ideal. Our 5 year old was in the pool daily, as were we. Waking up each morning to the parrots chattering in the tress and bamboo was great. So many fruit trees on the property, friendly neighbors, and Jason. Jason oversees the property and is a value added asset not to be underappreciated. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and became a good friend.
It was hard to leave and we look forward to returning, the sooner the better.

A wonderful holiday
Just what we needed for a really peaceful break away from everyday pressures. The villa itself is a haven on the edge of the rainforest with amazing bird life on view much of the time. A short walk away is the beach, but we preferred the pool side, plenty of shade and comfortable hammocks to lounge in. We also enjoyed the large gardens with the many exotic fruit trees. The local fish restaurants are excellent and only a short drive away. Jason was really incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and added to the pleasure of our holiday.

An absolute paradise
Came here with my husband for our 20th anniversary and couldn’t have wished for a more romantic setting. The amazing location right on top of the hill meant we could watch the stunning rise and setting of the sun every day, and being just a walk from Englishman’s bay we took our time to absorb the stunning nature of the island. We shall definitely be returning in not too long I hope. Thank you Parrot Estate!

Probably a little too remote for us
When we booked this property we knew that it was in the rain forest so shouldn’t really complain as we knew it would be a little remote however it was probably too isolated for us especially as the access road to the house is a real challenge especially in the dark.
Cons
The house really is in need of some TLC and is lacking some glassware and crockery sets also.
No WiFi (some may see this as a blessing)
The pool and surrounding area is in need of repair
Safe was not available
Pros
Beautiful garden and views. Enjoyed watching and listening to all the species of birds.
Assistance and advice from Jason who is a super character. Rent his jeep as it was a Godsend.
Castara has some real character. The locals are very friendly and food is good in the restaurants.
Kate is very responsive and supplies some really useful local information.
We had a really good time in Tobago although it did rain quite a lot. We would recommend the day boat trip (with snorkelling) with Alibaba. Superb day.
If you want to be located in a remote position with heaps of wildlife around then this is the place for you. My advice is to be 100% sure of what you really want.

Heavenly Escape
Where do we begin? Kate's home was an absolute slice of heaven in paradise. Jason the groundskeeper was a star, such a positive soul, he helped us with any questions or needs that we had. The views were positively breathtaking, we had complete privacy, there were not any neighbors close by - perfect for couples/families that do not want to be disturbed. The many doors allowed the cool Caribbean breeze into the house from every direction, the place is a hidden gem. Every morning I opened our bedroom door and jumped into the pool - we felt like kids again! We never wanted to leave. We hope to return soon :) Thanks for everything!!!!

Thank you, Jason!
Zur Vorbereitung der Reise konnten wir uns mit Fragen jederzeit an die Besitzerin Kate wenden. Alles in allem ein wundervoller, sehr entspannter Urlaub und wir werden wieder kommen! A great holiday and we will come again to your wunderful Estate -thank you for all. Kate!

Very Quiet Location
This villa is in a very quiet tranquil location for those who totally want to get away from it all.
Beautiful well maintained pool and pool area. The property is full of "self serve" fruit trees, limes, grapefruit, mandarin oranges and avocado's. Beautiful tropical flowers to fill the rather dark interior of the house itself.
Nearby beaches could have been cleaner, but we went in the rainy season and a lot of debris runs down from the rainforest behind the villa.
The villa itself could definitely benefit from some TLC, especially the appliances and tile work and bathrooms.
Jason, the property manager, is an absolute gem. He picked us up from the airport even though we were late because of earlier flight changes. We stopped off at a supermarket close to the airport to get basics. If you can be bothered at the time we would suggest getting a bit more than basics as there is not much close to the villa as far as food shopping. However, daily, beautiful fresh fish is abundant. Jason called us nearly every day to make sure we were ok and needed anything that he could help us with. He even brought us produce from his own garden. He was the best.
We never saw or heard from Carol the housekeeper; apparently it was up to us to get in touch with her.
Be aware - there is no Wi-Fi , television or internet. Our mistake, we obviously didn't read the "inclusions" as well as we should, but it can make you feel a little "stranded".

The pictures alone, don't do this place justice!
The Parrot Estate Villa was absolutely beautiful ! The pool is bigger and deeper than it looks! The scenery was breath taking, the seclusion was perfect for travelers looking to get away. Englishman's Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, was only a 5 min drive away. On your way to the villa, I recommend stopping at a grocery store before reaching Castara to pick up snacks. There are limited places to get these things during the off season. Jason was so responsive and helpful while we stayed at the villa. He made our trip 100x better and was always smiling and positive! Be sure to ask Jason to recommend the best places to eat. Kate was also super helpful when answering ALL of our questions prior to us even arriving in Tobago. Lastly, it should be noted that this beautiful scenic villa is in the middle of forest. You should expect to see a few bugs and other critters here and there if you leave the doors open (which I recommend) to take in the breathtaking views. You will see and hear many parrots daily, hence the name of the villa. Overall, the location was perfect, the villa was beautiful and the hosts were super attentive. I will definitely be staying here during my next trip to Castara!

Wonderful
What could we say? In simple words, the house and location in Tobago is quite perfect. The house is well equipped with all you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The garden with all the fruit trees are wonderful, the pool, the hammocks (three), the parrots and Agutis - all of this are amazing. The caretakers Carol and Jason are lovely and very helpful persons. Jason brought sometimes fresh fruits, bread and asked if and how he can help us (he uses always the bell). Kate the owner of the house provides all important and helpful info (Restaurants, supermarkets, doctors, important telephone numbers, etc.) before our arrival, thank you so much.... last but not least, the Englishman's Bay is a beach like a paradise with a little but very lovely bar with good trinks and local food.
Some additional info's to the house: both bedrooms equipped with a mosquito net, the towels und all other equipment smells fresh and everything (kitchen & bathroom) is very clean.
We had a rental car from Europcar but we recommend to rent a car from Jason.
We are sure that we want come back for another holiday to this wonderful place and then we will ask directly Jason for a car also for a pick up from the airport.

Great holiday in a lovely surrounding!
Last week we spent our holidays in this lovely property surrounded by rainforrest with a great view on the Atlantic Ocean. A very lovely garden with exotic plants and various colorful birds.
A great place to relax in the shadow near the swimming pool throughout the whole day. The villa is located in the middle between Castara and Englishman's Bay with beaches and a few local restaurants. The house is stuffed with everything you need and you feel save in this natural surrounding. Jason was a great caretaker even when the pool had some issues. We enjoyed this "little paradise".

Perfect Getaway!
Kate, you and Jason Lara made this experience exceptional!!
Your responsiveness (way faster than my own) to questions, providing recommendations, and general great demeanor kicked everything off on exactly the right foot!
Jason did an awesome job coordinating with and taking care of us once we arrived in Tobago! He was so flexible when we wanted to check out Crown Point and Pigeon Point before making our way to Castara! Once there he showed us everything we needed to know about your lovely place and made us feel right at home wit the locals there, letting us know the evening happenings each night at Castara Bay!!
As for your place... it was everything we could have wanted! The trade for having to drive just over a mile to Castara Bay for the seclusion we experienced wasn't even a trade! We loved it! We took time to enjoy the pool, the hammocks, all the patios and the gazebo. Ha! Some days it was difficult to leave to go dive and/or leave to sightsee! Those double doors, open beam ceiling, and hardwood floor throughout the house provided a wonderful warmth... truly like having a home away from home!
I hope we have the chance to visit Tobago and stay here again! We had an absolutely wonderful experience!

A perfect place to enjoy Tobago's charms
Parrot Estate Villa was the quiet, spacious house it looks in the photos! It's great for couples, friends or families that want to experience the "non all inclusive " delights of laid back Tobago. We enjoyed the local restaurants (think casual wooden shack for the most part!), untouristy beaches and just hanging out swimming and bbqing at the house. If you want to be surrounded by other people and don't like being surrounded by nature - then this is not the place for you! Would definitely recommend renting Jason's jeep - he's a mine of information and really helpful! We'd definitely like to return

Beautiful villa in a serene rainforest
The view is beautiful, overlooking an amazing garden filled with fruit trees along with the ocean far off in the distance. The villa itself is fantastic, with two bedrooms, one double and one twin room. During the day you can relax at home, either sitting in a hammock or swimming in the pool, or you can walk down to Englishman's Bay, a pristine beach with hardly any other people around. Whenever there were any issues with the house, either Jason or Carol were more than happy to help. Thank you very much for such a relaxing two weeks!

Fall in Love with Parrot Estate!
If you love seclusion and a real Caribbean vibe, you will fall in love with Parrot Estate at Englishman's Bay! It is true paradise, and a real hidden gem. Just imagine sitting on a large veranda eating breakfast, watching the humming birds, whilst surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest, overlooking the Caribbean views in the distant horizon — it is simply breathtaking.
The property is well maintained, and kitted out with everything that you will require for your stay, it is spacious and comfortably sleeps a family of four. The beautiful landscaped gardens are filled with various fruit trees, and a large pool to enjoy many lazy days, and BBQ’s alfresco!
Just a short drive away is one of the islands most beautiful beaches - Englishman’s Bay, perfect for line fishing, snorkeling and swimming. The village of Castara is also close by which has a number of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the local Caribbean food, and live music.
