What a spot 😍

What an amazing location! Was an amazing treat to stay here while tramping the Abel Tasman. Friendly staff, good amenities and did I mention the location.

The rooms are getting a little tired, and the food was just okay.

Gerne immer wieder, da die Herzlichkeit sehr angenehm und wohltuend ist.

Das ganze Personal war sehr, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen in der Lodge war ausgezeichnet und auch sehr schön präsentiert.

Die Abläufe beim Frühstück sollten besser koordiniert werden, da es sehr, sehr lange dauert, bis das „vorbestellte“ Essen serviert wird.

Great location, great service and very comfy.

Breakfast was really nice, good coffee included, great service. Nice spacious clean room and just across the road was the beach. We had a fabulous dinner as well.

The rain but can't blame the Lodge for that.

Paradise in paradise... you won't regret booking your stay at Ratanui Lodge!

What an absolute delightful find! Ratanui Lodge is exceptional. A wonderful oasis in gorgeous Pohara Beach, Golden Bay. We live over the hill in Motueka and being able to jump in the car and 1.5 hours later, you're in paradise was just wonderful. Less time traveling and more time relaxing. We decided to head over to celebrate hubby's birthday. Due to the time of year (off season), the first night we had the whole lodge to ourselves, including amenities like the hot tub. The room was gorgeous with everything you could want for. All the right things in the right places... ladies, full length mirror near power points, large bathroom vanity mirror with excellent lighting. A large bathroom with shower over bath. Robes to wear and even gorgeous Sleep Mist to spritz over yourself before bed. The bed was super comfy. The hosts were beyond exceptional. A wonderful, professional, warming couple who look after our every need with aplomb. The food was exquisite (we had breakfasts both mornings, which are included in the room rate and we chose our dining time to suit us) and ate in the restaurant one night. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar (lots of great choices including local gins). We both had the prawn starter, which was delightful. I had the most perfectly cooked, medium rare beef fillet for main and hubby the panfried market fish, finished with warm orange cake with choc/orange icecream for dessert. We enjoyed a late check out on Sunday. The location is perfect, with the mind blowingly gorgeous Pohara beach just across the road, galleries, a gin distillery and just a few mins drive to Takaka township. A bit further afield to Pakawau, Puponga, Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit... all very accessible within an hour's drive. To say we had the most wonderful weekend away is an understatement. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Ratanui Lodge and we have decided we'll be going back this time every year.

There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING we didn't like. The whole experience at Ratanui was exceptional! Sadly I couldn't upload my photos as my computer was playing up!

Delightful site and hosts.

The staff were extremely helpful finding out what was open in the district over winter. Christine and Zahid are a delightful young couple who create an ambience of being made welcome and feeling relaxed. Dinner and breakfast were lovely.

Exceptional

Everything was amazing! We loved our stay here, the staff were so helpful in organising breakfast and a packed lunch as we did a day trip on one of the days we stayed here. Laundry service was great. Beautiful pool but unfortunately too cold to swim in at this time of the year. The staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to recommend activities. The rooms were spotless. One of our favourite locations to stay. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay special.

Lovely room and setting, very caring staff, good restaurant.

Spa pool temperature not hot enough, different on 2 days; walnuts in a garden salad and not advised (no charge once raised).

We hope to return to Ratanui Lodge, 1 night was just too short!

Breakfast was delicious, I can highly reccommend the Eggs Benedict with Hot smoked salmon.

Located on the far end of Abel Tasman, Ratanui Lodge is a great place to stay.

The food was outstanding. We were there 5 nights so tried nearly everything on the breakfast and dinner menus. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Lots to do in the area even if the weather's not fabulous.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Hotel of the 90s

Frühstück excellent- The pool and the Hottube need a restauration- wine and other drinks should be changed and are too expensive / the whole house needs more space in front of the rooms and is too near to the road

Loved Loved Loved Ratanui

Fabulous staff, gorgeous rooms, so calm, quiet and tranquil. We paid a little more for the Luxury Room - very spacious, probably half again the size of the Deluxe. Only 10 rooms, room 10 being the only Luxury room. Ask for a higher room number to be a little more private and away from the (not busy) road. The on-site restaurant was amazing, best duck I’ve ever had, and a perfect breakfast selection. The staff though are the biggest asset of this lodge, so lovely, welcoming and accommodating. It was very hard to leave.

Shower curtain rather than glass in the shower ☹️ The pool needs a thorough clean.

Superb

Comfortable for one night

Nice breakfast - nothing special but good. Seems odd to limit guests on their coffee when it’s such a small coat

Food is good rather than great. It’s quite isolated so expensive for that reason.

The best place to stay in Tasmen

Absolutely loved the stay here at Abel Tasmen. The Service Staff were lovely especially the charming receptionist who helped us figure what locals do at Abel and also managed to get us a cheese board & wine after the kitchen was shut.. The Rooms were nice as well.
