This is a stunning home for all seasons. It was perfect for kayaking and exploring during our visit or enjoying the spectacular view. I could imagine being here when it's rainy because the interior is so comfortable that you just want to curl up with a book and watch the birds. Everything about the house is designed for comfort and beauty. Truly a haven!

This home has absolutely everything. A remarkable view, wonderful layout, ample amenities, and very kind host. I hosted a wellness retreat with a group of women and it could not have been a better location. Yoga on the waterfront grass, group meals in the gorgeous kitchen, sunset kayaking. It was perfect and we will absolutely be coming back!

A magical place
I hesitate to write this as I don't really want this amazing secret to get out too far: this home is perfect. The property, the view, the spaces and the communication of Mike all surpassed our our wildest VRBO dreams.
Our visit was just made so comfortable, even in the snow. The home is incredibly clean and has all you need for a lovely vacation. The basement play area was such a bonus for the three little kiddos in our family.
We cannot wait to explore the property and the island again when summer comes.

Wonderful Holiday Getaway
My family flew in from out of state to meet my newborn over the holidays, and we wanted to find a large home to stay due to the small size of our home, and Mike’s waterfront home in Vashon was the perfect retreat! The house was large, with plenty of space for everyone to have their own bedroom. We really appreciated the living area with ample seating and the gorgeous views. We were snowed in during our stay, and were able to cook all of our meals in the generous kitchen.
Mike was an extremely helpful and responsive host, updating us when the power went out and with other updates before and during our stay. We were very grateful for the generator during the cold weather.
We sadly didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub due to the inclement weather, but it looked lovely!
I wouldn’t hesitate to book this home again - it truly is a luxury home!

Perfect Getaway
I stayed at Mike's home for my wedding weekend and it was amazing. Mike was very responsive and personable in his communications. The house was the perfect space for our group and we loved being right on the water. The house had everything we could possibly need and more.

Relaxing views, island walks and sea kayaking
Owner helped us with last minute booking due to smoke challenge at another vacation spot. Heavenly time. Quiet. Fun. Good books on shelves. Dock sitting or kayaking or ambling at low tide. All beautiful.

5-star family vacation on beautiful Vashon Island
My family of seven (adult siblings + kids) booked Mike's home on Vashon for our first post-quarantine trip together! The location was beautiful and we spent most of our time outdoors, hiking nearby trails, kayaking in the bay, stargazing from the hot tub, and hunting for marine life. My nieces live in a land-locked urban area, and they were thrilled to see otters, crabs, sea stars, and shellfish. We were beyond impressed by the home's thoughtful details, from small things like binoculars to spot sea life from the deck to a sparkling-clean hot tub to the ultra-efficient air conditioning (which might sound like a small detail, but was critical for keeping everyone comfortable during a heat wave!) We grilled dinner on some nights, and made the short trip to town for dinners and breakfast pastries the rest of the time (May Thai and Snapdragon are delicious.) Mike's house is a must-book, especially for family trips!

Family Getaway
Could not recommend more highly! The communication with Mike was fantastic, he was very responsive and provided helpful details and information about the house up front. And the house is beautiful! Well stocked kitchen (always a big plus), tons of books, puzzles and games for the kids (which kept them busy and happy), and plenty of areas to sit back and relax. Would absolutely look to go back again!

Amazing Waterfront Location
This place is amazing. Many different spaces for the family to spread out and relax inside and out. The waterfront views from the decks and inside are beautiful. The downstairs area is a perfect place for the kids to be able to play and call their own. Michael was very nice to work with and super responsive. We would highly recommend!

There's something special about a place that can be so clean, well-appointed and functional yet feels so incredibly welcoming - and this was the place! Indoors, the house was clean and had everything you need (and that your kids would need)! "I wish I had a blanket" and boom, you'd somehow find a basket of blankets right next to you! From books on the area, binoculars, to a smartTV where you can log in to your own Amazon/Netflix, etc. it really had it all. The kid space downstairs was perfect - we basically could deposit our crew (4-7) and they made their own fun. The beds and configurations worked great and our kids loved sleeping downstairs in the bunks!Outside though was the best part! Such stunning views, chairs for enjoying nature, and a nice-sized outdoor table with an umbrella for easy outdoor eating (which somehow we got to do, in blinding sunshine, in mid-APRIL!). The beach was great as the tide came in and out, we found all kinds of sealife under the rocks (crabs galore!) and there were plenty of fallen trees, rocks, etc. for the kids, again, to make their own fun!We also reflected on the location - just 8 minutes to "town" which was so wonderful. We could easily pile in the car to get ice cream, or just send out one adult to pick up dinner. The food in the local restaurants was surprisingly good! A little pricey, but as expected on an island. We had one of the best fish burritos of our life, and the Thai place is so authentic, it's talked about in Seattle foodie circles. We also found the local grocery story (Thriftway) had all the hits (many common local brands found in Seattle grocery stores) which made us feel at home! (And allowed us to easily feed picky kids!). We had our family of 4 (2 adults + a 4 & 6 yo) - we took the main-floor master and the kids slept in the bunks in the basement. Upstairs, our sing;le-parent friend took the room with a double/queen + a single bed for herself and her 2 boys (4 & 7). The other upstairs bedroom was taken by our au pair, a single adult (but would have room for a couple). Really great space for a coupel families, or extended family to enjoy! This is a wonderful place and I'd suggest it for anyone looking for a private, yet easily accessible spot on Vashon! The views were so wonderful to wake up to! We can't wait to return!

Thus was such a nice experience. Owners have truly thought of everything a multi age family needs.
This was a five star experience. The property and amenities are top notch. Room for everyone on three levels. Access to water, views, proximity to town. No one left unhappy in our family of mixed kids, Teens and adults. Just a wonderful experience.

Serene island escape
We couldn't have dreamed of a better place to land on Vashon. The home is stunning -- clean and comfortable but also cozy and welcoming with thoughtful aesthetic touches throughout. The water views make it easy to calm the mind quickly upon arrival, and keep you in that dreamy vacation state throughout your stay. Plenty of space to gather or take quiet time. Amenities are abundant -- they've really thought of everything you might want or need. Close to town and beautiful hikes. We came as a couple but would definitely recommend for families as well!

Great House
Beautiful house right on the water. We stayed with my wife and two girls (4 and 7). Highly recommended for anyone looking to get away with kids. House has a very well stocked toy room with bunk beds that my kids loved. House has everything you could need from toiletries to kitchen supplies. Wifi works great for those looking to WFH or stream something. Were there in winter so didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but would definitely if the weather had been warmer. House overlooks a part of the sound that is frequented by a lot of different animals - at various times, we saw a bunch of different types of water fowl, bald eagles, blue heron, osprey, sea lions, sea otters, and a pair of something in the dolphin family. Highly recommend this place.

Awesome family retreat
Our 3-generation family (8) had a wonderful time living here for the month of August, without masks and distancing during the restrictions of COVID. The house is perfect for this size group, because there are a number of different seating areas where people can gather or be alone. During the month, the adults "worked from home", which was great for all. View of the sound and access is beautiful.

Excellent location for the Vashon experience
Experience Vashon on an original homestead landscape renovated into comfortable contemporary home.
See the views north and west,
Smell the puget sound,
Walk the cobble beaches and listen to the continuous sound of water washing the beaches.
Birds, fish, seals and orcas all enjoy the landscape with you.

We stayed at this home in the summer and loved it so much that we returned in the fall and it was spectacular! This home is so comfortable and the location is perfect. Our family can't wait to return again.

we had to cancel but the owner was amazing
this is not an accurate review but the only way i'm able to leave one as there's no option for rating a cancelled experience.
i can't judge the actual property but i can rate my experience with the owner and VRBO. I screwed up our initial booking and consequently have run into a refunding redtape situation. Michael, the owner , went above and beyond to help me. I can't recommend working with him highly enough. He was prompt, professional and compassionate. in the end an emergency caused us to completely cancel our stay which was so disappointing. but i just want to thank him again for all of his help.

A complete Gem
This property was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Being right on the Puget Sound was breath taking. We feel lucky to have found this house to rent and also be a guest of Vashon Island. We hope to one day be residents here.

Beautiful!
Beautiful location, beautiful view, beautiful interior! This home was every thing 9 adults needed for a lovely, relaxed visit to Vashon! Kitchen - top appliances and seasonings -where you, too, can be a professional chef! Mike, owner, most gracious and quickly responsive to our needs. Hope to stay there again when we return to Vashon - will want to check on “our” eagle 🦅 that flew past several times each day!

perfect beachfront home
My only complaint is that we eventually had to leave. The house has beautiful views and plenty of spaces to enjoy them: upper deck, lower deck, dock, family room, hot tub, bedrooms, nook and even from the shower! Everything was as represented - no unpleasant surprises or things that didn't work. Even some binoculars so you can identify that animal swimming into view. (a seal, not a whale, dang). Kitchen is spacious and has all the appliances you need for meal preparation, including sharp knives. I loved all the original art on the walls. Communication with the owners was easy. Vashon overall is super cute. I'm so glad we were able to explore it from this house!

amazing in any season
This is the second time we've stayed here, and it's a spectacular home come rain, sun, or shine (and in our case, even a bit of snow). So quiet, so peaceful, with more than enough room to ensure you're not piling on top of family members at every turn (not to mention, it's also filled with more than enough amazing books, puzzles and games to make sure even an overcast day isn't boring).

lovely stay
This property is in a lovely location, pretty views, protected from the wind and boats a bit more then other sides of the island. It had access to the water to allow for kayaking and paddle boarding. Remember to bring water shoes for the rocky shore.
The house was roomy, with lots of cozy sitting spaces, the kitchen was well stocked and there is a hot tub.

An excellent spot on Vashon Island with breathtaking views of Colvos Passage
This house is incredible. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The views from the upper and lower decks are incredible, even with smokey conditions during our stay due to forest fires burning in British Columbia. The house has everything you need: a very well stocked kitchen and bedrooms on 3 levels to take full advantage of the views. Also includes a great dining room and an impressive home theater room with super comfy couches. An ideal location for exploring the beauty of Vashon and its many hiking trails. A short trip to island restaurants and shops, and a 5 minute drive to the Fauntleroy ferry for trips into Seattle. The homeowner Mike is incredibly responsive to any questions, and gave some great recommendations on what to see and do on the island. You will enjoy!

Outstanding Waterfront Property
Our group stayed at this Vashon Island waterfront home for three nights in June of 2018 and had a great time. The property was well furnished and clearly cared for by the owners. It was evident that much care and attention had been put into setting the home up for entertaining. Beautiful waterfront area with dock and seating. Lovely patio. We made great use of the amenities including hot tub, BBQ, and the many sleeping beds that were available. Great central location for our group golf trip. 8 adults stayed at the home and we were very comfortable. Owner was great to deal with and very quick to respond to emails. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property if in the Seattle area! Thank you.

Beautiful house
This house was very clean & most furniture was new and in good shape. Beautiful view of the water & many fun games/puzzles available to play. The kids loved the room downstairs that they could play in. We only wish the water had been clean enough to put our feet in, but we discovered that the view is just aesthetic & there is nowhere to wade or splash around on the island. This was a very peaceful getaway & we loved that it was close enough to Seattle for us to go explore without having to stay in the city.

Perfect family weekend!
My family and I enjoyed a perfect stay at this lovely waterfront home. We are rarely together - and this was the perfect opportunity to reconnect, relax, and enjoy the gorgeous setting! There are lots of beautiful sights and places on Vashon Island, but we found it difficult to leave the deck! We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks, as well as the hammock and hot tub. The kitchen was well-stocked and spacious - perfect for cooking family meals together. Everyone had plenty of personal space in this comfortable and well appointed home; yet the large common areas were great for spending time together. We are already looking forward to our next stay at this home together (fingers crossed!). P.S. The air conditioning was a special treat in the rare Seattle summer heat!

Great 4th of July
We had an amazing trip, largely because this house is so amazing. The location is a short drivefrom the ferry, and the west-side location is terrific. The pictures make the house look fantastic, but the house is even better in person! Great trip, we would definitely book this house again.

Amazing house, beautiful view of Puget Sound!
The house is impeccable and features every comfort that you'd want. Inside was sparkling clean with space made for entertaining. The deck overlooking the Sound was a most excellent place to spend a vacation. The property has easy access to the beach for beach-walking. The house is close to the ferry for easy arrival and departures and the nearby town of Vashon could not be more quaint and charming. I highly, highly recommend this property--it would be impossible to not have a good time there. I'll be telling all my friends about this.
