Quiet, Cozy Family-Run Hotel Surrounded By Scenic Beauty

This hotel is in a beautiful area. It’s very quiet and peaceful, and the scenic beauty is beyond compare. The hotel is run by a family, and everyone we encountered was very kind and accommodating! My dad and I stayed in one of the apartment-style hotel rooms, and it was very spacious and cozy. We almost felt like we were guests in someone’s house. If you want to spend time in the actual village of Bad Schandau, it is about a nine-minute drive or a 25-minute walk from here. This hotel is perfect for access to hiking trails, and taking in all the world-class scenic beauty of the area- even from the windows of your hotel room! This little corner of Germany is so quiet and peaceful, you will almost surely get a good night’s sleep here!

There was nothing that we didn’t like here! Do keep in mind that this hotel is not in the actual village of Bad Schandau. That is about a 25 minute walk from here. We knew that going in, and we loved being surrounded by the unparalleled scenic beauty of the area.

Quaint pension in beautiful countryside

Very cute old-fashioned Haus. Our apartment had lots of character. We had a separate living room, there was a small kitchen and dining area.

Lots of stairs to get to our room (not a problem for us). Coffee making facility would have been nice. Biggest draw back for us we could hear every step of the people staying above us through the wooden ceiling and consequently had a very bad night’s sleep. Location is very remote, you really need a car.

Breakfast (albeit expensive) was totally excellent. I wasn't hungry until the afternoon. Location is very good for walking among the rocks. For visiting Bad Schandau, I recommend using the elevator. The room was nice, clean, we had all the comfort we needed. For the price it was great.

Beautiful, clean and organised stay!

The rooms are newly renovated and were neat and tidy. The host was super nice and very welcoming and she also let us check-in slightly early :D The paid breakfast was also very delicious, fresh juice machine along with plenty of choices in both hot and cold categories. And lastly, the location is super nice too. You can just walk to the national park and hike or bike or relax in the greenery. I can surely recommend the place.

Great place

Nicely decorated, very clean, very comfortable, great location for hikers, fully equipped, easy check-in including parking aside the appartement.

Check in was open only till 18.00 and it was hard to find the room. The staff assisted happily and solved the issue fast.

They were so accommodating, we arrived late so they left the keys in an easy to retrieve location and let us check in the next morning. The breakfast was nice, a large selection of items and a good cappuccino make for a great breakfast. We loved the quaint location and the view from the town.

We didn't realize it was up so high, but that was poor planning on my part. So walking to the hotel would have not been my first choice with all our bags. There is limited bus service to that part of town so if you aren't bringing a car then keep that in mind. But honestly we loved settling in for the night and didn't feel the need to leave.

Breakfast was lovely. All staff were incredibly friendly. Very big and comfortable apartment. Well equipped for cooking. Very calm surroundings and close to the start of several excellent walking trails.

The location was great for hiking but not ideal for walking to the town. It was 25-40 mins walk to Bad Schandau. The shortest route on google maps takes you through the #historical elevator# which you have to pay for and is only open until 8pm. On the last day, exploring by ourselves, we discovered som 'hidden' stairs to the town - near the historical elevator. The bus is also a bit confusing. Would have been nice to get some clearer information on this.

Beautiful, quaint Ferienwohnung in perfect location for hiking to view the Schrammsteinblick. Very helpful reception and breakfast staff. Friendly restaurant serving typical local food.

This very good accommodation was our relaxing point after extensive walks.

We appreciated the very familiar atmosphere, a friendly welcome, and a comfortable room with a large balcony. The breakfast buffet was very rich and scrambled or fried eggs were fresh-made for us. When we left, there was the opportunity to lock the luggage near the reception. Another added-on is the easy accessibility of interesting points for walks like the 'Schrammsteine'.

This was the highlight stay of our hiking trip. Lovely bedroom full of great details; terrace and really beautiful bedroom. The breakfast had many different options. Totally worth the money.
