We had a superb evening meal. Staff were lovely.

We asked for a change in the room as my wife could not climb the winding stairs to the third floor. This was done and a ground floor room was provide, which was excellent.
I don't know what could be done but it is not a friendly hotel for slightly physically challenged!
4.1
How comfortable the room was and the small bottle of milk in the fridge was an extra touch. I do not like the little plastic milk jiggers.
4.1
Staff helpful and polite; breakfast well presented and good quality with a lovely range of choices. We had dinner at the restaurant - liked the ambience and the offerings on the menu; we both chose something we enjoyed and the quality of food was high at a reasonable price; it was a real bonus not to have to go somewhere else when the hotel restaurant is probably among the best places to eat in Taunton.

Nice property
Nothing

All went well. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, very clean room, albeit the door was very narrow and we thought we were going to be in the broom cupboard! Great to have the carpark. Very easy to walk into the town.
Window was vey small and room a little airless even though we opened the window as much as we could. Had it been a very hot night it would have been even trickier to sleep. We didn’t use the fan but I’m not sure how much difference it would have made.
4.1
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Service with a smile .
no comfy chairs in the bar area
4.1
Clean. Fridges in rooms very welcome during heat wave
Nice range of teas and coffees and plenty of them with bottle of milk in fridge
Comfortable bed
Towels and toiletries good quality
Very quiet, no noise from corridor or other rooms
Car park
All points relate to age of building and not really possible to improve: stairs steep and without decent hand rails, no lift, small rooms, very stuffy and warm rooms,
Single occupancy double: tiny shower with sloping floor in ensuite, no ventilation in ensuite, sink next to bed not in toilet!
Car park entrance and exit quite narrow and carpark quite cramped for slightly nervous parker !

great rooms
needs plugs next to bed

Bar area was lovely and inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was v small and the ventilation was poor - it was exceptionally hot and stuffy. We had a fan but that was noisy and so we couldn’t have it on all night.
4.1
location near centre of town
rooms were very clean
friendly, helpful roommaids, with a lot of useful touristic tips👍
restaurant : good diner
bad wifi
no airco, for cooling the window need to be open at night , very noisy traffic outside
staff at reception could be more interested

Location was perfect. Bonus that we had a fridge and fresh milk, especially in the hot weather. Bed very comfortable and shower was great. Room was a little on the small size, but not a problem. Did have the rubbish (wheels bins) right outside our window. Staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the restaurant as we were meeting up with friends.
Nothing really.

it’s got heaps of character and the stained glass windows are beautiful when the sun shines through them .I just love the whole house really.
I had one problem and that was that I could hardly get up the stairs, they were so steep Andy hips and back are bad so to lift a leg to that steep height was hard enough but to then be able to push down on my legs to propel myself up to the next one was excruciating. I wasn’t aware of this upon booking so it may be an idea to tell people that the stairs up to each floor are unusually steep .
I enquired with reception about any rooms on the bottom floor for next time ,the girl said if I could tell them upon booking on our next trip.
It’s just worrying that no where in the description does it say that you’ll be required to go up each stair that is between 15 and 17 inches high which may be very challenging to anyone with problems in their back or legs .
There’s only one room on the bottom floor inside the main building. Apparently there are 3 external rooms in like an annex / building next to the main hotel. I didn’t get to look at any of them so I’m sorry i can’t comment on them. But I’m sure they will help if asked as all the staff are lovely and very accommodating.
Well definitely be visiting there again Many thanks for making our stay lovely .

Great location in the town. Comfortable room. Super breakfast

Easy check in and clear guidance by front staff
Ordered breakfast for 7:15am, did not arrive until 7:35am, time is precious and it is poor punctuality that should not be happening.
4.1
Small room, soft bed.
Spotlessly clean
Wifi was slow, under 4mbps.
Noisy building

Nothing.

We had a very nice room - on the ground floor as requested because of my husband’s heart condition.
The reception service was excellent. Dinner very good, although the menu more limited than advertised.
Parking worked well and hotel is sited a short walk from Taunton’s interesting centre.
There was a slightly grumpy breakfast lady on duty.

Lovely Hotel in Taunton, short walk into town...

Great room - very spacious and clean. Despite being near the road, it was very quiet. Very friendly, courteous and professional staff. Interesting architecture and well cared for building and facilities.
Nothing to report.

location . friendly and quick check in.
uncomfortable bed matress. Quite noisy from below room and corridor in morning when cleaners working.
4.1
The staff they was very freindly
Room was ok but bed was small
4.1
Comfortable room. Good tea/coffee/chocolate/biscuits. TV was OK. Bed very comfortable.
I asked for a quiet room - no that didn't happen. Receptionist needs training in customer service, not the first time I've had this experience at The Corner House. Contrary to the waitresses who are the exact opposite, polite and friendly.
4.1
Breakfast was good, although you have to order in advance.
The room was a 'compact' one, as advertised, which was ok but meant that one side of the bed had no bedside table, and the bed sloped to the edge so that it felt I was constantly in danger of falling out of bed. The room was extremely hot and couldn't be adjusted so we ended up having the window open all night.
4.1
Clean, unfussy and well specified.
4.1
Very friendly, centre of town, parking at back, well organised, excellent breakfast.
4.1
Room was tidy,breakfast was decent
Rooms smelled of smoke especially the bathroom as people seem to have smoked in there with the door closed to stop the fire alarm going off.
The car park is a tight fit for the car to get in and has walls on either side of you. You also have to pay £5 a night which is unnecessary when you are already staying at the hotel.
The receptionist was rather unhelpful as my mum was unable to carry her suitcase up the stairs herself as there was no lift. No help was offered to us by the receptionist she didn't seem to care.
