A touch o grandeur

Hotel Tomaro came as a surprise as I wasn't expecting wide stone-flagged hallways with antique furniture and rugs. Oil painings adorn the walls. There are even sumptuous sitting rooms should you want a quite place for reading or a chat. My room was well appointed, spacious and clean. The view across the lake is magnificent and well-worth the extra. The value is exceptional.

I found the feather pillows to provide no support and would have preferred foam or latex. I also found the sound of furniture being moved upstairs grating - surely some rubber feet would fix that? And then there was the breakfast - a few slices of cold meat and cheese, a small cup of muesli and machine coffee leaves a lot to be desired. They could do so much better.

nicely located hotel for short-term stay

Super nicely located in front of the lake, just at the shore with all restaurants and shops next by.

The rooms are quite old-fashioned and so the bed was not comfy. I also did not like that no complementary water bottle was in the room.

Ascona is a wonderful place and the hotel is right in the centre of the action.

Great views of the lake & right on harbour front for al fresco dining & watching the boats & birds.

Parking is a challenge in Ascona. Strongly advise calling the hotel ahead of arrival. Pool & garden are 10 minute walk away.

A good and comfortable hotel at a great location.

Excellent location right on the lakeshore, close to the ship station and many restaurants - couldn't be better. Car park is a bit farther away, as the hotel is in the pedestrian zone, but access by car is possible to unload luggage.

Not a lot to complain about. It's really a nice hotel at a good location. The car story is a bit complicated as one has to wait for an employee to show you where the parking, which is around a 10-15' walk away. Also, price was quite high, but I was there also during the Ascona Jazz festival.

Exceptional view and location

Great location at the lake. The room was stylish and clean. The staff was helpful. There is a terrace available for all guests with beautiful lake view. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Location is incredible, right by the water, breakfast is amazing, interior is super cute, rooms clean and spacious, staff incredibly friendly and forthcoming. Couldn't have been a better experience!

Mix of old and new, e.g. high ceilings but new bathroom fittings. On Lungolago right by the lake. Efficient help with transfer from and to the private parking. Very pleasant family owners on reception.

The location at the Lago is great. Directly on the lake. The staff was very nice and helpful. A beautiful old house with stylish furniture. The covered patio for breakfast is very nice. From there you can do everything on foot

Great view on the lake, very friendly staff, nice and charming old building and interiors

The breakfast was not really worth the money, just one sort of cheese, no eggs, small and not very appealing selection of meet slices. The double bed was not particularly comfortable. The mattresses were not fixed so that quickly a gap formed.
