The BEST spot for a wonderful Lake District stay!

Excellent location, super clean and lovely rooms, hosts are fantastic, breakfast is varied and there are home baked treats throughout the day, lots of helpful info on the Lake District. I would give it 12 stars if I could.

Lovely stay, will definately return.

Great location just a short walk into town and the lake. Our room was very comfortable and clean and contained everything we could possibly need. The owner, Janet is lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, nothing was too much trouble. Off road parking was a bonus. Excellent Guest House, highly recommend and when we are in the area again will definately stay at The Wordsworth.

A wonderful friendly and comfortable place to stay, feel pampered and valued x

Janet offers a wonderful friendly service at Wordsworth guest house. You are welcomed with cake and wine, the rooms are spotlessly clean, well presented, comfortable and lots of minor details have been thought of. Our stay was just perfect and I would recommend Wordsworth guest house to anyone x

Wonderful early Spring break

I am so pleased I booked Wordsworths Guest House for our short break in the Lake District. From the moment we arrived Janet made us feel as welcome as old friends. Our room was amazing - warm and comfortable and with everything we needed including a great view of the garden and nearby fells. There's plenty of parking and in fact we didn't move the car at all during our stay as there are glorious walks into the mountains just from the front door. All the shops and restaurants (in particular the Vegetarian paradises of Zeffirellis and Fellinis) you need are just a short walk away too, as is the pier for the Windermere boat cruises. A plentiful breakfast set us up perfectly for the day, and best of all Janet provides a seemingly inexhaustible supply of delicious cakes - I only hope we weren't too greedy! We struck really lucky with the weather too as a snow fall followed by bright sunshine made the whole area look absolutely stunning. All in all a wonderful and relaxing few days - which was just what we both needed.

What a brilliant place to stay!

Brilliant hostess, helpful, friendly and attentive. A fabulous cook! Great food, complementary wine and cakes baked by the owner! Spotlessly clean. Great facilities. Beautiful room, with a gorgeous, comfy bed! Private parking and the GH was right in the town, very convenient for walking to local pubs for a meal/drink and exploring Ambleside. Will definitely be going back again, if she's not too booked up!! Wish we have found this place before!! Our first visit to Wordsworth's, certainly won't be our last!

There was nothing we didn't like. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Janet is the perfect host and her guest house is truly perfect. If you are lucky enough to stay here you'll want to return and you'll know what we mean.

Will definitely visit again and have recommended to friends very good value for money.

Ideal location and free parking. Owners very friendly and hospitable even offering complimentary wine and home made cakes 24/7 something I have never been offered at different hotels on many Ambleside visits. Breakfast was offering small or large servings perfect start to the day.

Simply the most enjoyable little B&B I have found anywhere in the UK.

Absolutely everything. The quality of the service and facilities is immaculate, I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was.

Will definitely return.

The place was very homely. We were in the suit room and the extra space really helped us relax and chill out. There are both blinds and curtains so we were able to really block out the light and with the comfy bed, we slept extremely well. Everything was spotless and very modern. Breakfast was seamless and we had great food. The cakes and wine were a really nice touch too. We will definitely return, it must be the best b&b we have stayed in.

Super stay in Ambleside

Super stay with wonderful hosts. Lots of little touches, like cakes and wine you could grab! So lovely. The brownies are to die for!!

Everything was perfect, nothing could have been improved! Even when we had an issue with the locks this was sorted quickly and easily :)

Janet was the perfect host, the guesthouse was spotless and very well kept, delicious cooked breakfast every morning and complimentary homemade cake which was a lovely touch! We will definitely return and highly recommend, do not hesitate to book!

Outstanding quality and hospitality.

Everything at Wordsworth's Guest House is presented to the very highest standard. The decor is spotlessly clean and the room beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches throughout. The proprietors are lovely people and went out of their way to accommodate my unusual schedule dictated by a local sporting event. The location is excellent, quiet, yet with an easy walk to the centre of Ambleside for shops and restaurants.

Great Location with off-road parking. Just a few steps away from the pubs, restaurants, shops and cafés of Ambleside village. Recently re-furnished room with en-suite, a comfortable bed and plenty of room. Fabulous breakfast in a lovely guesthouse. Very welcoming and friendly; run by Janet and Stuart. A great place to stay if you fancy a relaxing break away or a base for walking as we did. Would highly recommend to all and hope to return for another visit soon.

Quirky, clean, conformable and lovely people who own and maintain the hotel. Good location for exploring Ambleside.

The property was quirky, homely but with modern touches. for me it just made me feel very relaxed. it was very clean the owners are the most kindest and attentive people I’ve ever met, we were greeted by cakes and bottle of something nice when we arrived which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, choice of full English and help yourself to cereal, yoghurts, fruit and juices.

Faultless accommodation and hosts.

Very good, central location just a short walk to everything Ambleside has to offer. The rooms are decorated and maintained to a very high standard with great facilities. The hosts were very pleasant and eager to help.

A welcoming home from home perfect for exploring the Lakes.

Excellent welcome. Host eager to help in every way. Spotlessly clean room, well equipped. Delicious breakfast with good quality ingredients. Location was extremely close to village centre and restaurants and parking so close to town much appreciated. The outside seating area had superb views. All this at such a reasonable price.
