5 jours de détente, une très bonne restauration, un dépaysement totale.

L’hôtel est très bien situé face a The Rock Les villas privées sont exceptionnelles, la piscine privée a une superbe vue sur l’océan. Le restaurant est digne d’un étoilé Très bonne cuisine, bien servi, à l’écoute.

Beautiful secluded boutique hotel with unforgettable staff and services

Upendo is a lovely boutique hotel on Pingwe beach. The service and staff were exceptionally stellar and it was easy to book rides and excursions. The room was spacious and always kept clean. It was nice to have private beach access and very interesting to see the tide come in and out.

Keep in mind that this location is very far from other parts of Zanzibar. Travel to Stone Town, Kendwa/Nungwi, and Mnemba Island is over an hour.

Beautiful common areas, rooms and service lacking.

Restaurant and common areas for pools and daybeds were beautiful.

The room itself was spacious but not well designed. For example, even though the room was huge it did not have seating so the extra space was unusable until we pulled in chairs from the common area. The patio doors were also problematic as they didn't close all they way(there was a one inch gap), the doors did not open all the way as promised because the hinges were all rusted and the curtains could not be pulled back easily. The shower in the room was also not well designed as water sprayed out to 1/3 of the bathroom whenever the shower was used. Service also felt awkward and inconsistent though we could tell they were trying. Airport transfer was arranged seamlessly but there was one day were our Whatsapp messages were not read for 45 minutes and it took around 45 minutes to arrange a taxi into Stone Town. Wifi was also very spotty at this property - which was not the case at another property we stayed at down the road. Service for meals was also awkward as we would be asked for orders before we were ready but then never checked in on again after receiving food. Overall for the steep price (2.5X the cost per night of the other property we stayed at) we did not feel the stay at Upendo was worth it.

I would definitely stay here again.

The food and views were so good, we hardly wanted to leave the hotel premises. Staff are very accommodating and friendly.

9/10 will definitely recommend. The accommodation is stunning!

They need some more vegan options, but the location right opposite ThRock Restaurant was out of this world!

Unfortunately they were still doing some construction at the restaurant.

fantastic stay

super nice place, super sweet staff. it would be a fantastic place for couples to stay in. beautiful place just opposite the rock restaurant. sunrises are spectacular!

when the tide is in there’s no beach and one has to walk on the road behind the hotel.

Awesome BoHo with amazing design and top service on all ends

An extremely stylish and friendly BoHo with an amazing combination of wood and stone architecture. Breakfast, dinner, service, a beautiful delivery of Serena and her crew. Love each part of it!

Unreal location, great villa, amazing food & lovely staff.

Beautiful location, really lovely & spacious villa. Great attention to detail with the decor & layout. The food was delicious too & reasonably priced. The staff arranged out transfer & a massage before getting there & the staff were really attentive We would 💯 stay here again.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Our only feedback was no decaf coffee or diet soft drinks. However the tea selection made up for the decaf coffee.

A little slice of heaven in paradise ❤️ Wonderful stay.

Upendo is absolutely beautiful and a little slice of heaven in paradise. The staff are so warm, friendly and nothing is too much. The food at the restaurant is wonderful, fantastic chefs, and a lot of choice. Our room was so beautiful and spacious with a fantastic view of the rock. We had a fantastic 4 days of our honeymoon here, so relaxing, and would definitely recommend.

I don’t think there is anything. 😊 It is a quieter part of the island but exactly what we were looking for.

Nice Quite place with good food and Great Service. We had a villa and Butler Service it's definitely perfect idea. Great Job Butler Theo! Everything you need it's there just delivered for you. Perfect when you want just chill and do nothing at all. Very polite, good English, understandable and fast. Thanks Theo for everything you did!♥️ You are big credit for this place. Good Room. Very good soft bed linen, soft towels, bathroom amenities. Big plus for a coffee machine and tea with little snacks. Good choice in mini bar. Tropical Shower is very special...good pressure of water and Soft towels make you feel great! Very sweet to have a commitment on turn down Service. Thanks. Nice sound of the Ocean and birds in the morning. And of course food-great portions, tasty, fresh and on time. Breakfast is delicious! Definitely recommend 👌🏼 go there and feel special 👍🏼
